I'll bet many a kid down there has very happy memories of going and watching the trains at the park/zoo. Back when life was simpler, and simple pleasures appreciated more, I would have loved seeing that train set up when I was a kid!
I was born and raised in the Coachella Valley, and yes I have many many fond memories of the Living Desert. During Christmas time they turn the whole zoo into a Christmas Village of sorts and decorate it very nicely. You hit the nail on the head.
Sunday morning coffee and History Hunters. No better way to start the week. Thanks Jeff and Sarah! I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into your videos! 😎👍
Loved it sir!!!! Although I don’t agree politically with California, this is by far the most beautiful state of the union. Snow to beach in one drive. Thank you sir for taking us along!
Most of California doesn’t agree with the politics of California! It seems just a few pockets of extreme liberal lunatics are making policies, many behind closed doors.☹️
I would be a very happy person if I could create and build a tiny town like this. Thank you for spending quality time with it. Sarah is "hands on " and a great scout. I always love seeing her. Jeff, you're doing great work. People don't sight see or venture out in California like they once did, you're bringing California history to them. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Being a model railroad myself, that was the highlight of this video. Planning and putting together a layout like that is amazing. Your efforts & work in permitting us to see your work is appreciated!!!
I enjoyed this video. All the animals are beautiful I enjoyed everything in this video. Thank you for giving such a beautiful video. Jeff and Sarah enjoy your day
Beautiful place amazing they keep it clean took millions of dollars to have a place like that bet the ticket prices were high. You have to admire them for having something like that .Hard work .
Hi sarah and jeff, Awesome I love this, Never expected to see model train layout in a zoo, But I loved that. The animals are awesome to see to. that is a neat adventure. loved it and I enjoyed it as usual.
I'm generally not a big fan of zoos, but this one appears to have given the animals plenty of space, in a natural, environmental setting.👏🏻 Yes, Sarah wouldn't like it any other way, and she seemed fine.. Jeff, I agree with you about the train display. I found the buildings totally amazing, as well!🎊 Thank you for sharing this with us. 🏡🙏🏻🌞🐆 🐏 🦒 🐫 🦏🌿🌾
What a lovely day. It’s 22 degrees Celsius here in Autumn 🍂 just back from walking the dog at the beach. Now watching History Hunters. 😊 What a clever concept that was at the zoo and I love 💗 animals so much. Thanks Jeff and Sarah. ❤Jodie, Wollongong. 🇦🇺
My dad was a train enthusiast. Had a miniature train collection. Back when all us kids were little we all would ride around town and when we'd hear the train whistle my dad would say head um up move um out and we'd haul butt to the depot and wave to engineer and then the caboose guy. What good times. Of course Paso was a lot smaller then. Thanx Jeff and Sarah. Forgot to say we were riding our bikes around town.
Thank you, Jeff! As always such a treat to see what you give us as we travel along with you (if only vicariously). This trip was awesome, loved it all!!!👏👏
Hi guys. I enjoyed the video. The model train was neat, so detailed, I could probably watch it for hours. You can never go wrong checking in with all of the animals.
An awesome day to spend quality time with the zoo animals, trains got my full attention thought that was really great , thank you for sharing and taking us on this adventures trip
Hi Jeff & Sarah, I wish I had the time to visit places like you both do, that's why I enjoy your videos so much! I guess you just have to make the time, and time is short! I love the animals as well as the miniature train set up. I still have my Lionel train set my mom and dad got me for Christmas one year. They bought it from a friend of theirs who's kid didnt play with it anymore. This was in the 60's so the set had to be from the 50's I'm guessing. Thanks for another walk down memory lane!
In Los Angeles we have had 20in. of Rain this Rain Season and we still might get more as the season isn't over yet. I bet Sarah had the best time ever seeing all of the Animals.
Jeff and Sarah! Another fine video about a place that has so much to offer its visitors. That G Scale Railroad is amazing. It didn't come cheap as the equipment and track/buildings by Piko, et al are costly. A mighty fine and HUGE layout! Thanks!!!
That was awesome! That model town was so cool!!! It sounds like NH. It rained every weekend last summer! Thanks Jeff and Sarah!!! Love your videos!!! ❤❤ 1:30
Thanks for the trains! Union Pacific's #4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, built by American Locomotive Co.(ALCO) will be on display in Roseville July 11-12. Roseville yard was the site of a huge military ordinance explosion while it was still operated by the Southern Pacific. Make your plans!
U2 are SIMPLY THEE BEST.....THANK U!!! Luv'd All of it; Beautiful mammals & such intricate detail w/ railroads; especially the "safety first" sign........KEEP LOOKING, UP.....😊
Hi Jeff and Sarah great video. I really enjoyed seeing the miniature train display. Looking forward to seeing the next video. Love and blessings Larry June and Laurie
That’s a great layout! My dad in Germany was a huge train buff. When our son was little he had a LGB (Lehmann Großbahn) setup. Every time we went to Germany we brought back another engine or rail car. We only ran it in our living room, never outdoors. Did you stop in Tehachapi on your way? Super train loop, and a train themed restaurant! (I think you may have reported on this before. Memory not what it used to be. 🙄). Thanks Sarah and Jeff for having us participate in your outing to this pleasant place!
Thanks Jeff for another great video. I live in Riverside County near The Mission Inn and never knew this place was here. About an hour and a half away, will be going, thanks.
Wow loved the train! One of my hobbies is model railroading, I’d love to do an outdoor one, the problem it would be all rust in a year here on the coast of Washington. Thanks for sharing Jeff and Sarah
Had a great uncle who had two miniature train villages set up in his basement. I could watch for hours! This village at the zoo is captivating! I could watch this for hours. So much detail with buildings, people and landscapes!
We really went there for the animals because Sarah loves animals, but when I found the miniature train set, it fascinated me. Glad that you enjoyed it as well. It gives you a picture of a bygone era, for sure.
Wow!! This was a great video. The background music you used is a major thing that made me enjoy this. Thanks for showing us this. Take care Jeff & Sarah. Howdy from Texas!!
Awesome! Thank you! I felt like the choice of music fit the video perfectly and I’m glad that you appreciated this selection. Stay cool down in Texas my friend.
That was a enjoyable video, from the animals to train model, love the Batmobile, guess Batman & Robin are going after Shame! Thankyou Jeff & Sarah for sharing. 🤠
Thanks Guys.. this looks soo cool! I really want to check it out (long drive from Washington State but my Son lives in Rancho Cucamonga so that’s a good excuse). Great to see Sarah too!!! I’m always excited when I see a History Hunters video pop up!!! Good music to Jeff ❤️it!!
This place has always been one of our favorites for my wife and I. Looks like they did some work on the train set up since we been there last. unforgenantly for us though, we cant get around much, and they did away with the trams that went around the whole zoo encloser.
Love the video! I live in Schenectady, NY. There was a plant here that built railroad cars starting in 1848. It became ALCO in 1901. That bell came from here!
I used to live close to Palm Springs and I never knew they had a Living Desert Zoo lol I guess I'm not very observant lol The model train town is cute!
Loved the ministure town, railroad, and rolling stock It's just struck me, Jeff. For as many model railways I've seen, and I live in a pretty major railway town historically, ive never seen so much as a headstone, let alone a cemetery. I wonder where they put their dead? 😅😊 Thanks for the video! ❤

I imagine Sarah was in 7th heaven! The railroad town was awesome. So much love & attention to detail went into recreating it. Thank you so much!

Some of the models in the railroad town look like places you've visited. Pretty cool and worth the trip just for that.
Would to visit there - great video! Yesterday’s snow is melting off and the sun is out in Cheyenne.
