I live in southern Louisiana, where we experience mild winters, when the outside temps get in the 30's as nighttime lows occasionally in the deep winter. I have 5 potted plants that need to be protected from the occasional frost. I have a room where I can bring them that has fluorescent lighting only. Will the fluorescent light be enough to sustain them for a couple of days when I need to bring them inside? Great informational video, BTW. 😊

Yes ofc u can bring them all in your lighting room. For the record, fluorescent light are growers' favourite since they often provide "full spectrum" lights so I think it's fine for just a couple of days

I am just curious since I'm from a tropical country so we do not have winter season. Does dormancy in succulents still apply?

No, dormancy is just like their coping mechanism when the temperature change

Do they need to go dormant? can they survive without ever going dormant?

dormancy is like their coping mechanism to temperature change. When a succulent goes into dormancy, it will minimize metabolism activity to conserve energy until the environmental conditions get better. It means that succulents won't go into dormancy if they're in ideal environment, some indoor succulents for example

I brought all my succulents inside to overwinter them with grow lights when the temps dropped below 40. Will the winter dormant plants still experience dormancy?

Okay so if you can control your room's temperature indoors then your indoor succulents probably wouldn't experience dormancy or full dormancy
