Your videos have been so helpful! Thanks so much.
Ugh ain’t that the truth. Didn’t work for about 1 1/2 years thinking it would resolve overtime... nope! Day one of working again, even with appropriate inserts, tons of pain. Feels like it’s never going to go away. 🙁

@@juniorsarmiento7292 posterior tibial tendonitis has 4 stages, the first stage causing mild symptoms and the fourth being the most severe one with arch collapse and requiring surgery. In case you have it, I assume that yours should be stage 1 or 2 which normally heals itself. If you have pain around the medial side of your ankle, you'd better take sufficient rest stopping any weight bearing physical activity. Apply ice some 3-4 times a day and take antiinflammatory drugs like ibuprofen. After couple of weeks you can gradually begin to do stretching and strengthening exercises. Never hurry otherwise you flare up the tendon and it begins to hurt again. Do you have any sports medicine specialist in your country? Normally tendon-related problems don't appear in x-ray, but a physician or sports medicine specialist easily diagnose it with a MRI scan.

Hello, I have very sharp and extreme shooting pains in my posterior tibialis tendon. My PA said it was my Achilles and I got an MRI to the Achilles. The MRI does not show any issues with my Achilles. Question 1: Would the Dr be able to see a posterior tibialis injury on an Achilles MRI? Question 2: The Dr assumes that I have lumbosacra lroducolpathy or crps. He only looked at my Achilles MRI. Thanks.
@hanselxy I did 300mgs 3x per day for 5 days and stopped. Lesson learned: if muscle relaxers or pain killers like Oxycodone are not working, ask the Dr for nerve pain meds. Gabapentin is very safe and easy on the body. If it works then you know you have nerve pain. I couldn't walk for 5 months until I researched then requested Gabapentin. I literally was walking the next day.
I've been suffering with this for over 2 weeks. I have been treating it like it was plantar fasciitis, which I've had before. Thank you for the video. I had instant relief, my pain went from 5 to 0 after doing the transverse friction massage on the tendon and deep massage on the muscle belly
Would this cause me alot of pain? debating on going to the doctor tomorrow. been hurting for 2 days below my inner ankle. very stiff, warm to the touch, swollen, and can't walk at all, hurts very bad 😭 should I try these for a few days or should I go in just too be safe? I have insurance but it would be a choice between paying utilities and paying the copay to see the doctor.

Hi guys I've been experiencing shin splints (posterior side) back and forth for 3 years. I've noticed along with the shin splints, I also experience pain in the area just above the inside part of the ankle. Is this actual ankle pain or somehow related to my shin splints?

Best to see a podiatrist. This isn’t an issue a GP would really have a full grasp on. They *may* be able to diagnose you (doubtful), but as far as treatment(s), I wouldn’t rely on anyone but a podiatrist.
I'm fairly certain I have Posterior Tibial Tendonitis at this point. Only problem is, I've allowed this injury to go untreated for 2 years. Do you have any treatment options or suggestions that I could do at this point?
Thanks, you two are saint saviors. I'm new to the pain, even changing my super flat shoes to some kind of commercial ready made orthopaedic shoes but the pain isn't going away completely yet (maybe the insole arch is too high LOL) and am planning to go see a doctor. But first of all, I must bring my overweight body weight down to normal =/
You shouldn't stretch a tendon that is inflammed. That will make it worse. Your goal is to improve tendon tensile strength. A tendon in the tendonitis state is already loose / worn away and stretching it makes it worse.
Is it worth hiring a physiotherapist? I dont have insurance and quite expensive. I can still afford it but can I not do most of these exercises on my own? Thanks
I am very curious about the surgery, as I may need to have it done sometime in the future. How long was the heal time? Were you bedridden during the duration of healing?
Hello, i just came across your video, wish I had seen a year before. I have been diagnosed over a year back with complete rupture of posterior tibialis tendon in my right foot! Being a nurse I am on my feet 12hr times three days a week, along with my household! When I am off I cannot stand on my feet, but have to complete responsibilities. Now that my podiatrist suggest that I need to go for surgical repair which I am not for as my left foot is being compensated with over stretching of PTT. I got IPRF therapy 5 days back to strengthening tendon on left. I am trying to lose weight being on low or no carb diet as I am unable to do any normal exercise. I am approaching you guys to get any advice regarding the same. Thank you!
Oh my. No carb diet works? My tendonitis calcaneus talus (that's my medical officer gave me the diagnosis and I think it's exactly the same like what Bob and Brad described ----- posterior tibialis tendonitis!) somehow keep giving me 'signals' ----- I'm totally craving for wheat-based noodles LOL and it's always feel better when I eat all the cooked carbs LMAO

Hello Docs, many thanks for all your input and efforts to make us feel better. I wonder : can I do a jumping rope programme landing on my front feet during my rehab for my tibial tendonitis ? I am also trying to walk barefoot as much as possible. Thanks again
DURING your tibial tendonitis? NO!! That is a percussive exercise. You can get plenty of foot-strengthening exercise without resorting to slamming your foot down repeatedly--which is what jumping rope is.
Hello there great video as usual, just a question, I massaged the muscle that you referred to in the video, but the next day it started to hurt whenever I touch it, is because I applied too much pressure ? Thank you

Normally tendon-related problems don't appear in x-ray, but a physician or sports medicine specialist easily diagnose it with a MRI scan.
always helpful videos
I am glad to see demonstration of exercises to relieve the painful condition of Posteria Tibia Tendentious. And it is especially important you can avoid physical therapy.umm no ohpleasureummh pohpleasureummhain
I got tibial tendonitis (I'm guessing) from playing tennis with tight shoes. Its really hurts to even walk on my right leg.
The first time I had this, I just sort of let it go and it eventually felt like I was walking on broken glass. I had to have three weeks of physical therapy. Now I get on top of it right away.
I rolled my ankle (lateral) sprain several years ago and received a brostrum reconstruction. Now I have pain on the underside of my arch in the area where the tendon shows to connect in your video as well as instability and discomfort on the lateral side of the ankle. Additionally, I have pain on the lateral side of the knee same leg resembling itb pain. I'm virtually certain the two are connected, but don't know what this is called and/or where I should start before going to see the surgeon again. Please help.
Thank you very very very much
Hello,
I have very sharp and extreme shooting pains in my posterior tibialis tendon.
Thanks.
@hanselxy thanks for the reply. It wound up being a nerve. I was prescribed Gabapentin and was walking the next day.
@hanselxy I did 300mgs 3x per day for 5 days and stopped.
Good job sir
I cannot toe off anymore causing me to limp. Very active. Just started 6 months ago. Whole ankle stiff and foot numb. If do range of motion get cramps.
You might need tarsal tunnel surgery
Is the treatment for tendonosis the same as tendinitis?
Hi guys
I've been experiencing shin splints (posterior side) back and forth for 3 years. I've noticed along with the shin splints, I also experience pain in the area just above the inside part of the ankle. Is this actual ankle pain or somehow related to my shin splints?
You are so cool !! Thank you
I wonder if you could provide a link, or provide the name of a cushioned arch support/insole you recommend for PT? Thanks very much1
We don't have a particular brand that we endorse, but there are several on Amazon that would work!
@@BobandBrad Thanks but not asking for an endorsement, just a few suggestions. There are thousands of brands on Amazon and most of them are cheaply made and non-supportive.
Is it common to have sharp pain when adjusting to a new insert and shoes, after being diagnosed for posterior tibial tendonitis?
Thanks, you guys are amazing
Hi Bob and Brad, Thanks for all of your wonderfully helpful commentary. I have posterior tibial Tendonitis. Should I only do the exercise in this video on the affected foot? Or should I do both legs? I know the one claf is weaker.
Both
Thank you! my Chiropractor recommended this video, what I'm looking for is how to address the connection between waking up with pain in the pelvic floor and the bottom of my feet. I'm pretty aggressive with rolling out the bottom of my feet at night, and the PTT/IT band areas, but I would love info on understanding and addressing the "root chakra" area. Thank you!
Hello! What's the difference between posterior tibial tendonitis and posterior shin splints? Thank you!
What is your recommendation for a 72 year old woman who is overweight, and had diabetes type 2, who hurt her Posterial tibial tendon while gently jogging, I do a trot Walk for 1.5 miles, and hurt my tendon, what is your recommendation for rehab, I need to walk to control my diabetes, thank you so much.
Would i need to see a specialist for this type of pain
Best to see a podiatrist. This isn’t an issue a GP would really have a full grasp on. They *may* be able to diagnose you (doubtful), but as far as treatment(s), I wouldn’t rely on anyone but a podiatrist.
I'm fairly certain I have Posterior Tibial Tendonitis at this point. Only problem is, I've allowed this injury to go untreated for 2 years. Do you have any treatment options or suggestions that I could do at this point?
Additionally, my arch has mostly collapsed and my foot is pronated quite a bit.
How r u now I hope ur recovered
The insert helps!
These guys are fab
What do you suggest for navicular extra bone attached to tibialis posterior ? I dont want to do surgery .
"I'm not straight."
"Good point Bob"
Great video
You guys are way better then DR phill 😂
It's always clear & simple solutions
Thanks
this video makes way more sense now

Love you guys
Very helpful! Thank you!
When you're doing the wall stretch (3:40), is the weight of your body driving through the heel or the ball of the foot?
lanelou04 it's on the ball!
@@Gionimo no you want to pull from heels, if you go from balls of feet , it would lift your leg from behind
Is it worth hiring a physiotherapist? I dont have insurance and quite expensive. I can still afford it but can I not do most of these exercises on my own? Thanks
Had Navicula bone removed .best exercise for ligaments
So what should I do, if the pain is on the outside of the foot and not on the inside??
Hello Bob and Brad: I've been there and done that with respect to TT therapy. Why do I continue to feel some discomfort there after five months since my injury? Does this tendon take a long time to recover?
I would like to know too.
It’s been literal years since my surgery and it still is painful
Tarsal tunnel pain relief exercise do you have any video
Thankyou so much 🙏🏾
I know you guys mentioned 3-5 minutes for the massage but what would be a good frequency? Daily? 3 times a week?
Hello Docs, many thanks for all your input and efforts to make us feel better. I wonder : can I do a jumping rope programme landing on my front feet during my rehab for my tibial tendonitis ? I already started thai boxing as it has been 9 months without sport and I couldn't bear it anymore. It is going OK and I am careful and following your programme of stretches and exercises.
Thank you
I sure wish they’d answered you
@@deborahnovak2386 damn that was a long time ago 🤣
Lol i hope you’re feeling better now
Looks like they’ve had five years to answer lol
@@deborahnovak2386 it all resolved on its own months later. Thank you
