I love the Brian Voss story. He was one of my favorites to watch growing up. I hope he's doing well. Good luck to you guys for the rest of this tournament!
Same here. The first ball I ever bought from a pro shop was an AMF Purple Angle. Why? That's what Brian Voss was rolling in the late '80s in almost every show I saw him in.
I remember watching him in the early 2000's. He used to wear shirts that had flames and dragons on them and stuff like that. He's an odd dude. Kind of like the Jimmy Buffett concert going crowd. He reminds me a lot of the baseball player Darren Dalton.
Dude!!!! The Voss story is awesome!!!! I used to bowl regionals all the time and man it was fun! Hard as hell, but fun. Awesome memories. Never duplicated.
@@die7fox Yeah, I saw Kyle playing straight up with it, while Brad was shaping. Also hear its great for wet/dry conditions which is what I see at my house.
Brian Voss is one of my 10-15 fav bowlers of all-time if I had to make a list. I appreciated how he can throw it up the boards or circle the lane ALL WITH THE SAME BALL because he cares about hand position and making adjustments. I also just favor righty single-handed bowlers. He was one of the first pros to really care about physical fitness and diet. He was always so in shape on the lanes.
That's a GREAT story from Brad about Brian Voss, aka The Boss, to those who followed bowling way, way back in the day. Boss was always one of the coolest bowlers. He was fashion model handsome when 80% of PBA bowlers were either beanpoles or big fat guys with beer guts, and he was always my bowling idol. I've seen him competing in those PBA50 tournaments and he still looked and bowled like a champ. I'm so sad to hear that he has come upon hard times and was broke at that time. We see these guys bowling great and forget that the PBA tour, and probably the PBA50 tour, is a grind and not necessarily the road to being a millionaire. Even a bowler of Voss's caliber may not win enough to be doing fine financially. Loved to watch him bowl, and wish him the best. As for Brad, dude you are inches away from winning a national title just like Kyle. You can do it!!
"Voss the Boss," as Nelson Burton, Jr. used to say. A definite mix of Alaskan fisherman and Santa Monica lifeguard. I was a huge Earl Anthony fan because of his consistency, subtle intensity, and almost effortless delivery, but he was a lefty. When I saw Brian Voss present himself as Earl's mirror-image, I was hooked.
HEY! You started showing the scores!! I feel like you saw my comment about that! Lol. Its neat to see where everyone is in the tournaments, keep it up!! B&K!
Great job Brad! I wished you could have made the show you bowled great man! Those lane conditions were nasty, my son and I watched all of it. Whew I could only imagine how the bowlers feel. It's a tough way to make a living but enjoy the hell out of it as long as you can!
Brian Voss is my dads favorite bowler. The button up jersey, untucked, with the loose fit pants. Swag on a million. He made bowling a lot of fun as a kid. You could’ve told that story without saying his name and a lot of people still could’ve guessed who you were talking about.
My favorite brad and harmony story was I believe the last regional you shot there and you were bowling a match against a lefty and he crotch chopped you, you didn’t take it that well. But look at how far you guys have come! It’s amazing!
@@TraumaER Well MC Hammer, Allen Iverson, and hundreds of others who have made 1000x more money became completely broke.. I mean things like children, divorce, lifestyle all play a role in how fast someone can lose or go through money. My neighbor was worth over 20 Million and he is now homeless on the street due to a divorce and bad spending habits. I think he also had some addiction issues as well.
@@JonHop1 yeah not sure. I did see when I searched his net worth varies depending on what site you see. Maybe he lost sponsorships when he did that interview/article a few years ago about wanting to change bowling back to the way it was.
Brad, Kyle and Dennis. It was great meeting you today at Harmony Lanes. You guys make it look easy!!!! Keep up the great work on the lanes and with the Vlogs!!!!!!
Brian Voss won 25 PBA tour titles, 2 PBA50 titles and 1 PBA60 title. Nelson Burton Jr. would always refer to him as the poster boy of the PBA on the ABC saturday afternoon telecasts because of his good looks.
Cool story Brad. I didn't know Brian Voss played guitar. Btw, you've been bowling great in Colorado Springs. Proud of you! Your time to win a PBA title is so close! It's like you're running a race and you can see the finish line. Love you, and next time we meet, I'm hoping to get the opportunity to bowl with you (and maybe go on a date as an added bonus, hehehe).
I aspire to have your smooth release and consistency. I’ve recently began bowling again and now I’m critiquing my form too. It’s amazing everyone on tour makes their release look so effortless and smooth. The only way I know how to improve, is with repetition.
I remember Voss competing here in Europe, showing up with 2 balls and winning a stop and getting second, if my memorys correct, in his first 3 tournaments. Beating all the top europeans and other top internationals. He could do it all with those 2 balls. I think it was an Elite Gold Label and Black Label. Good dude. Had a couple of beers with him on some of the tour stops.
BRAD! How could you not know about BRIAN VOSS? Ask Norm about him. I bowled a Pro Am with both in attendance in 1987! Norm signed my program. So did Earl Anthony! Legends!
GO GET EM BRAD, NAIL THAT 1ST TITLE... CONGRATS TO KYLE WINNING, HE COMES FROM GREAT BOWLING PEDIGREE...BOTH DENNIS AND TRACY ARE GREAT BOWLERS WHO WERE BOTH FORCES ON THE ST LOUIS/ ST CHARLES BOWLING SCENE FOR YEARS...
Just a quick question, I don’t know if you can give me a solid answer or not. Righty no thumb bowler, ~15 mph and pretty high rev rate. Could you recommend a bowling ball for use between a Hustle RAP and my Storm Mix spare ball? Thinking of a urethane but not really sure between a UC3 or pitch black, or maybe something else I haven’t’t listed or heard of?
The Hill trade was great for the Chiefs I think as a Chiefs fan. He wasn't resigning with KC cause they weren't gonna pay what he wanted. Chiefs got a ton of cap and picks. As long as the Chiefs have Mahomes I think they have a chance similar to Rodgers and GB
So when bowlers drill new balls for a tournament what do they do with their old balls? I would imagine they'd really start to pile up at home if you were keeping them. Do they go back to the brand for recycling?
I really hope that Brad is working with a mental coach, cause yet again he blew a tv show in the last 2 games, and in the last 5-7 tournaments he has finished with a low game every single time, and cost him self cuts, better finished which amounts to a lot of dollars.
Can someone explain how the truck works. I figure its pretty much only for those that are on staff with a ball company. Is there a S/R/900G truck a Brunswick truck and a Motive truck? And what were all those triple totes in the truck? Can someone who isn't on staff buy a ball off the truck?
I find it funny that these manufacturers keep churning out one new reactive ball after another yet the pros are mostly using urethane in the Q rounds nowadays. Tells you that you don't that flashy hooking the entire lane style to score in this game. I like the urethane being back in a big way
I love the Brian Voss story. He was one of my favorites to watch growing up. I hope he's doing well. Good luck to you guys for the rest of this tournament!

This story is gold! :) Great guy Brian is and one of the best.
I like how everyone has their hometown represented in the standings screen and then Belmo just has all of Australia listed as his hometown.
Pretty sure all the international players just have a country.
And Darren tang always just says Las Vegas and not Las Vegas Nevada lol
I believe I’ve seen “Orange, Australia” before
That's because many people in Australia don't even know where Orange NSW is 🤣🤣
@@sonjav3699 Australian here . We all know where Orange is in NSW.
One of the reasons I love your channel - you guys have the right mix of bowling and talk.
Dennis, thank you satisfying our thirst for more Brad and Kyle.
I had a dude at my league bowl with the Roto Gem. That thing hooked in his backswing.

Awesome everyone came to Colorado Springs. Unfortunately I had no idea so I missed out, but I hope to see you all next time!!
Still can't thank you two enough for recommending the Nova to me. Complete game changer! Best ball in my arsenal.
Getting one myself because of Brad F@*kin Miller!

That Voss story reminds me of this from Lee Trevino. "You don't know what pressure is until you've played for $5 a hole with only $2 in your pocket."
That is hilarious! 🤣
Honestly without you guys filming Richie I would’ve never guessed the character he is. We need to see him more often.
brads gonna win a event i hope sooner than later. but you guys have bowled awesome. love seeing the progression over the 3 years i have been watching

I think he was joking when he told Brad. Brian Voss has earned over $2.5 million throwing a ball down a lane.
