kira get ran over by the ambulance is perfect in more ways than you mentioned. Not only is it because of his sheer bad luck, but Kira is a character who lived his whole life trying to stay as hidden and unseen as possible, and it's due to the fact that the driver didn't see him at all that he perished. Pure dramatic irony.
I genuinely burst out laughing when it happened. It's just so unexpected, especially after three parts of main villain gets defeated in epic fight with our hero.
That and he wanted to have the most normal life possible, and his life ended not by him being killed by the main characters' spirit punch ghosts but by a traffic accident, a way more normal way of dying
Im so baffled by the one where the guy dislikes the strange things that happen in JJBA, like its literally called JoJo's *Bizarre* Adventure, not JoJo's Normal Adventure
Jojo's normal adventure A story about two brothers. One is an archeologist and another is... (i dunno who dio would be if he didnt become a vampire) a lawyer. Together they live a normal live in 18th century England where no unnatural creatures live
@@JuanLeon-oe6xe No, but actually "Here is a man who believes poor/weak people should just die and that the economy should mimic natural evolution of Survival of the Fittest. He talks like he's selfless and doing it for the benefit of the country, when in reality, if his ideals were made manifest, it would put himself at the top of the ladder. He's also probably racist." *OMG GIGA-BASED CHAD??? BASED BASED BASED DONT FUCK WITH THIS SENATOR!! THE SOURCE IS I MADE IT UP xD xD xD*
I honestly dislike those people so much. If you don't have time to watch an anime, then fine, but please don't comment like your opinion is superior to someone's who has actually watched/read the series. And if you have the time, but don't care to watch it, but are still spouting bullshite under "Giorno from JJBA skibidi sigma edit" videos then please, kindly get off this side of the internet
Another thing about Diavolo's death: he's implied to be supernatural since birth. He was born with supposedly unexisting father from a pregnancy that lasted 2 years, and lived in a body as a secondary personality. Also he killed his own mother, his girlfriend, and tried to kill his daughter, burned a village in his youth, made the biggest criminal organization in Italy which sells drugs to anyone including children and is named after the devil himself. I would never be confident enough to say he doesn't deserve to be inprisoned in eternal torture, something that could be called "hell". He is purposefully created as this extremely mysterious character with vague origins, he might as well be something completely differemt from a normal human being, much worse then we think.
People with DID often forget there pasts or backstories I’ve heard so Maybe all the traumatic parts were erased and his backstory is told from Doppios perspective witch is why so many important details are lift out. He’s kinda meant to be mysterious and unknown events suit his character and his disorder or theoretically his possession. Either way I’ve never thought of that perspective before but the unknown part of Diavolo’s character is probably my favorite part of him.
Interesting take on diavolos torture, however I still believe that eternally dying is just a little too much for a murderer who is "named after the devil", but only really is an above average mafia boss who sells drugs to kids. I think nothing a villain does will ever compute to infinitely dying unless they eternally tortured someone themselves. When it comes to Diavolo carrying assassinations on his own, he tends to make things quick and painless for people as he cares more about the success of his organization rather than making people suffer. I think a lot of people dehumanize him because of his allegory to the devil and the classic "selling drugs to kids," along with the fact that he tends to avoid fate, but if anything I think he's just as human because of his natural fear of failing his goals and the lengths he will go to in order to succeed in growing his organization and his control. YES, I think diavolo is evil but I do not see him as "true evil" in any way.
@@megadangerman3170 that's understandable, I get where you're coming from, and I believe you have a good point. I respect your opinion. Just to defend my view again though, in response to your comment which seems to be devaluing a bit what I meant; he's not "just" an above average mafia boss who's "named after the devil". He is a mysterious man born from no known father, from a 2 year pregnancy a woman had inside a prison, and lives as a secondary (secretly dominant personality) who commits the most horrible crimes since his youth, with no regards to humanity at all. He doesn't always kill quickly and efficiently too like you said, as seen when he buries his own mother alive with stitched mouth. He might as well be a real devil. We know supernatural concepts exist in Jojo, so his extremely mysterious origin which is completely unique to him, could be implying he's not even human. Whether he is or not, is not even completely confirmed when you consider all his unique characteristics. But even if we exclude that in specific and come back to the standard idea that he is still a normal human being despite his strange origins, I still see him as truly evil, like Speedwagon says about Dio "he isn't evil by circumstances, he was born evil." You might not see him as "true evil" but as Jotaro pointed out earlier in the series "evil is when you use the weak for your own gains" and Diavolo's entire life is about that. The powerful boss making literally everyone his pawns, even family and lovers, with zero regard for their lives and human dignity. They're either a step for his glory or deserving of discarding, doesn't matter what type is used. He only brings about disgrace for people, many times even inside his organization, for the convenience of maintaining power and profit while being completely faceless. If he were to stay alive longer, he would most likely continue to be this source of a tortuous life for many people. Of course ignoring all the evil assassins that torture people for fun that he employes like Cioccolata, is totally up to the individual, but completely negating his blame on that would be conveniently turning a blind eye for his responsibilities as boss. All other main villains and other horrible characters are humanized enough to be shown struggling and suffering on life's hands either in their backstories or in the face of defeat when opposing other characters. But then again, which type of human being would be deserving of eternal torment like mitologies and religions always talks about will always be complex topic in which the answer differs a lot depending on who you ask. At the end of the day I'm just one more in the group who prefers not to take time lamenting the endless suffering of someone who haven't shown even one good quality at least as human being in the entirety of his participation in the story, instead of the group who still reminds him as a normal human being, who did evil trought life, but not the worst evil he could, and is still deserving of compassion at least to be forgiven from eternal punishment. Which goes back to why I understand your comment and respect your opinion. Eternity is a long time after all. I'm just not capable of being compassionate towards Diavolo enough to oppose his already decided judgement, as I see him as an implied devil much more then a normal human being, figuratively and possibly even literally like I mentioned before. I don't usually make lengthy comments, so I'm grateful for whoever reads them all the way trought. I hope it's good food for thought.
@GrandMasterEdge777 Wow. At first glance, I said in my head, "I'm not reading allat," but then I decided to read it. You really cooked with this response, and tbh I think I completely agree with you now. The only thing I have to say is a quote detailing a friend's personal input regarding Diavolo's situation. "No amount of finite crimes warrant infinite punishment." That sums up the way I feel about diavolo.
I mean their main point was already about how he "just" wants to make the USA propers, completely ignoring that he's explicitly ok with letting the rest of the world suffer for it.
I might be assuming too much here but I think a big part of it is bias. A lot of people that I see who claim Valentine is a good guy tend to be American themselves, so I think the idea that his motive is to try to make the United States a utopia makes his goal seem noble to them. I feel like if SBR took place in a different country and Valentine had the exact same motive, focusing on whatever different country the part takes place in (let's say China, Afghanistan, Mexico, etc) there would probably be less people claiming his actions to be justified and heroic
@@psycholuigiman I never said all American fans believe Valentine was right (I'm American myself), just that a good chunk of people who do think he's good are indeed American, and that it's likely from bias. I'm pretty sure more American fans recognize that Valentine is a bad guy anyway
It amazes me that people say they don't watch part 1 because "it will surely be horribly boring". Bro, it's just an introductory nine episode arc, not a whole Toei anime 😅
Tbf all jojo parts can be skipped. You can, if you want to, skip straight to part 7, or 6 or whatever while understanding the general story. That's what makes jojos so nice, it's there for people who want to watch just the hype moments, or a short story, but it also caters to people who want a deep story.
@@JuuniTV The "stupid comment" part was unnecessary, you know? Also, I'm saying that people are exaggerating at the time of saying they don't watch part 1 because they consider it "boring". While an anime with only 9 episodes may be boring for some, using that as the only excuse not to watch it is completely absurd.
I think some people really only find part 1 to be boring is because they know and expect jojo's to get better after this point.I suggest when it's your first time watching part 1 or jojo's in general you should really only focus on it and try to enjoy it,because some people really only watch part 1 is to try find it's flaws and comparing it to others parts.
I watched part 1, on acid back in the day, just bored, friend skipped out on this. IDK when this was. But I was like "know what, I'll try it" and holy crap lol This got me hardcore into the series. The same thing happened with the show Expanse. Not suggesting you try what I did, but this show is another level when...you are lol
I wanted giorno and josuke to appear during the part 6 ending, but as cameos with them watching the events of Made if Heaven from their point of view with the audience only being able to see their backs while they look up to the sky or something like that.
To add to what you said about Sleeping Slaves, I think that Bucciarati choosing to continue living and staying on his path despite knowing that he is going to die recontexualizes his actions for the entire part. Hes a hero, he could've taken the easy road and died peacefully.
I absolutely love that idea, so it really hurts to have to point this out... Bruno never actually found out that he was destined to die from Rolling Stones. Mista found out, but he never explained it to him. Even if he did, since he thought he completely saved Bruno by destroying Rolling Stones (which he didn't even do completely), he wouldn't have thought Bruno was still going to die
In a way, Fate was testing them for the trails ahead. The stone was the means to sharp them for the fight ahead, or an easy path to spare them trail they aren't ready for. Divaolo grasp on itatly was iron grip and King Crimson ability of cheating Fate. The only way good to break it was through torment, trails, overcoming, and sacrifice. And it wasn't going to be easy. Breaking the stone demonstrates the length gang will have to go through to defeat Divaolo. If they couldn't beat the stone, they certainly couldn't beat Divaolo. With Giorno awaken his stand, mark a change the unavoidable battle of good vs evil. Consider Bruno death, if he was loyal to Divaolo, Giorno would had to kill him. And betraying the Divaolo is a battle you can't fight without taking losses.
At first I didn’t understand the point of Sleeping slaves but I’ve actually grown to love it. It’s truly about resolve and preserving even if the consequences are hard to swallow
My main gripe is just that it comes after the end of the story. I'm just somebody who doesn't care for that recontextualization thing happening and I don't like prequel stuff. I prefer good foreshadowing. Of course, I also just didn't like part 5 as much as the other parts anyway. It's still real good, don't misunderstand me. Concepts like "fate" and "destiny" and thwarting those concepts are just kinda hard for me to wrap my head around, so an entire arc about that featuring a villain who's power is all about fated actions and such just wasn't up my alley.
Recently I wanted to draw Morioh's sky so I looked into it and I realized how much thought went into it. The fact that it's not just yellow but clear yemlow at the morning, strong or more brownish yellow at the evening, blue but with golden clouds at the sunset, and purple and dark at night. It's genuinely so interesting. That together with the blue and purple plants bushes and trees really made Morioh felt so unique thanks to the artistic direction
mfs be fine watching 1100 one piece episodes but get mad when they need to watch 9 episodes to understand the basic of jojo (nothing against one piece I am at episode 1007)
People hate committing to anything. I've seen people bitching that they HAD to watch One Piece up to the time skip, as if that was slog to get through before the main course and not a main course itself. People are dumb, and can't appreciate what they have, they take it as an obligation and not fun. For the record to OP deniers, I watched OP up to the time skip and took a break. It's long but very fun and worth it if you like it.
@@blueshellincident yeah like, people be watching one piece just to say at the end of every arc "omg this arc was super long and extended, pretty sure it was shorter on the manga" GO READ THE FUCKING MANGA THEN. And I am not gonna mention skypiea.
I always saw Phantom Blood as the "test" of the series. If you can't handle the "Legend of Jonathan Joestar", aka the first JoJo and the one who has shaped the history of his entire bloodline, culminating in a tragic ending after discovering that he did not in fact defeat his enemy, then they are not ready for the rest that follows it.
It's honestly haunting to see how many people find Funny Valentine's actions just. It is true that there is nothing evil about wanting prosperity for people, but Valentine wants prosperity for *his* people. He does not care if their happiness goes beyond what is fair and is at the expense of others. In fact, it sometimes seems that Valentine *prefers* it be at the expense of others, as that would make the United States the greatest country. In short, his ideology is a cautionary tale of national pride gone too far, and a failure to see that suggests a blindness to the evil that pride can bring.
21:43 I think this is a big factor in people not understanding/liking Part 6. Too many “fans” treat it just as a stepping stone to get to the “good part”
This happens with every anime I feel. People that skip the early section of Naruto, or One Piece before the timeskip, or Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. I bet new people are just gonna start skipping to the Shibuya section of JJK anytime now lmao.
Another cool thing about Kira getting run over by the ambulance is that for the guy that always wanted to live a normal life, his death is one of the most ordinary things that could happen to someone.
What i also like is that he died in an area that wasn't secluded from the public as usually how final battles go. Like he died in a public area with many civilians around so he didn't live a quiet life to the end. But yeah, vehicle manslaughter. Very common way to die, always look around your surroundings when any car is near!
@@KikoElGatito and more importantly, always look around you when *you’re* driving you are in control of a 2 ton death machine that can kill someone in seconds, that responsibility is massive
My personal interpretation is that the city of Morioh itself wanted to finish him off, like how the planet Earth got tired of Kars' shit and shot him in to space
I love the Clamp manga, but it's a shame it's the only well-known JoJo-fanfic. For example, the doujin "Until We rest eternally" (showing what would have happened if Jonathan became a vampire and not Dio) is beautiful love letter to the classical JoJo era
@@vivelespatat2670 doujin basically just means self-published fan content. the word's NSFW connotations mostly come as a result of that freedom, however, it in no way means that all doujins are NSFW. The word can best be translated to English as fandom, as doujin refers to both the group of people sharing in the community and the fan works produced! Music, fan art, fan comics, and even fan games, all of these are doujin! Fandom's gonna fandom, we all know r34 exists, but, that doesn't mean that meaningful doujins can't exist. @@JoyKirbs it doesn’t help that if you search doujins on google you’ll see more nsfw content, the word was kind of co-opted in everyday/internet nomenclature to have that meaning more times than what the original meaning was.
Honestly I can’t really think of a better thing for Dio to attack Jotaro with at that point in the fight other than the steamroller. Not only is it a great reveal, but I think it perfectly fits Dio’s over the top nature, it’s an awesome “fuck you” to Jotaro, and is honestly a good strategy on his part. Hit Jotaro with something so crazy, it’s harder for him to react to what, in Dio’s mind, would be the killing blow.
The way you cut out part of that Funny Valentine comment and then revealed that he had never read it is hilarious- I genuinely thought that was someone who had read it. Funny Valentine is a great villain, but I can’t believe people defend him as a good guy. That’s WILD and really shows that people are suppressing memories about the more disturbing parts, especially the Lucy bit
@@PsycheTrance65 AFIAK it's not completely literal, and there's definitely a spectrum, but I have seen apparently serious arguments that Griffith's macro actions (the massacre of the Band and the conquests by Falconia) are justified as a sort of least-bad means of creating a utopia. There are also people who are willing to sympathize with him over his tragic backstory enough to gloss over at least some of his more personal crimes. Generally these sorts of arguments gloss over what Griffith actually reveals about himself with his actions towards the end of the Golden Age and only listen to the self-aggrandizing speeches he makes where he tells on himself to some extent, but doesn't quite acknowledge being an arrogant, entitled sociopath who just spent a lot of time unable to respond to setbacks by attacking those around him.
My tinfoil is david productions fucked it over on purpose because they don't like it. They seem to play favorites with parts. The more goofy part 1-3 and 5 have good quality anime, while the more serious darker part 4 and part 6 get half-assed treatments. It's like they have tiktok kids' attention spans or something and if the story isn't haha funny crazy shit 24/7 they don't want it.
Say what you want about Phantom Blood, but you can't deny that, of all the parts, this is the one that has the best chance of being adapted into live action without becoming a Dragon Ball Evolution 2.0.
I think it’s kinda crazy that something like one piece got a pretty good live action adaptation before something more grounded in comparison like the aforementioned part 1 of JBA or like Dr. Stone or any other series that takes place in a version of our world
@@Numbers-gStands There are also pretty great everyday-life anime stories, like "Yosuga no Sora" that deserve a live-action. If One Piece got one without being a disaster, then ANY anime can get one

i actually love part 6 to death but my only complaint is that i wanted to see more of weather report because his character and stand was so cool genuinely
I realize I’m just regurgitating what was already said in the video, but Jesus Christ, it truly is insane the sheer amount of comments I’ve seen of people genuinely believing that Valentine isn’t actually a bad person. Every conversation I’ve seen that involves him, no matter what platform it’s being discussed on, there’s always at least one guy coming up with some crazy mental gymnastics to excuse his actions or somehow wrap his character all up as a good person and that Johnny is actually the bad guy, and I know they aren’t trolling or rage-baiting because half of the time they’re getting positive feedback or upvotes for it. I know we all love to poke fun and laugh at the low-hanging-fruit that is the “Jojo fans can’t read” stuff, but this is genuinely concerning.
@@lordfreezer5631 Yes it is, it is heroic and righteous. You are just a weak fucking coward who doesn't have a resemblance of patriotic bone in his body
I think a lot of people see that sbr has a lot of conflicting morals and ambitions amongst the cast and uses that to write off valentine’s clearly evil intentions. I do think a lot of characters from the part don’t necessarily fit the traditional lens of good and evil, but valentine is NOT one of them
I'm such a part 4 fan boy, but I love the different sky colors. It makes the small town feel more isolated and away from anything outside. Part 4 is in a crazy, noisy, bizarre town (hahah) and everything takes place in the town. They aren't thinking about stuff outside of it, they are dealing with Kira, someone who also refuses to leave his life in the town. It's as if it's its own little world and I love it since I'm a fan of small town murder mystery style stories. Also Chase has always been my favorite opening.

That one guy's take about Dr. Who frustrates me on a fundamental level. The 2005 reboot was specifically written TO BE an entry point for new viewers. By that point in time, the last primary Dr. Who media to exist was a TV movie from 10 years ago that was not critically well received, and the last thing before that was when the original run of the show was cancelled in 1989. The show had been off the air for almost two decades. For all that most fans were concerned, Dr. Who was cancelled before the 2005 series came out. A good portion of fans who were just getting into Dr. Who through the reboot were not even born during the Seventh or Eighth Doctor's runs. New Who was written specifically to be both a soft reboot for older fans to see how the story continued after the original run's cancellation, and also an original story for new fans to jump into without feeling the need to be caught up on 30 years worth of British sci-fi. New Who re-introduces elements from the original series in a well-paced way that is a fun reference if you know what it is, but also basically expects that 80% of the audience has never seen it before. For instance, there's a single episode that brings back one of the Doctor's old companions from the 70's, as well as having a bunch of other references and cameos from that era. If you've seen the Fourth Doctor's run, its a huge fanservice fest. If you haven't, the show is just like "Oh, this is a girl the Doctor used to know a long time ago. Don't worry about it." and it works. Compare this to SBR, which began publication less than 11 months after the end of Stone Ocean. It is reasonable to believe that most people who perhaps started getting into JoJo through SBR, through a Jump subscription for example, were at least aware of the series at that point, and may have even known someone reading it up to that point, since it had only been on hiatus for about a year. Dr. Who is also a show in which it heavily incentivizes skipping parts. Whenever a new fan asks where to start with Dr. Who, the most common answer I hear is "Start with the 2005 series". But some people even say "Start with whoever the newest Doctor is." and I can't say I entirely disagree with either of those suggestions. When it comes to New Who, as long as you're starting from a certain showrunner's first story, you'll be fine. Nobody tells you to go back and start with William Hartnell and watch every episode meticulously in order. Dr. Who stories are very episodic. Sure, most episodes are part of a three-to-seven-episode-long arc, but most of those arcs are standalone. I've even heard some people say to start with the 2005 series, and if you start to get bored and wanna see something different partway through to just go back and watch a story or two from Tom Baker's run. And I don't hate that idea either. I hear people all the time say "Oh, you can skip Part X, because Part Y doesn't spoil anything from that part", as if "spoilers" are the only thing holding someone back from reading a story in the order it was written. Like, as a Halo fan, yeah, Halo Reach doesn't spoil the trilogy or anything, but if you're interested in the plot, you should play the trilogy first. JoJo is the same way. While Part 7 might not spoil Part 6, and Part 6 might not spoil Part 5, and Part 5 might not spoil Part 4, you miss the natural evolution of themes throughout the series. By Part 7, JoJo really becomes a theological thinkpiece about humanity's role in the universe, and how mathematics affect nature, and the value of a human soul, and how fate defines our actions. That stuff is all hinted at as early as Part 4 (honestly as early as Part 1 if you're paying attention), before it really doubles down in Part 5. Part 6 really takes those ideas hammers them home before I feel that it truly bears fruit in Part 7. Sure, you CAN skip to Part 7 and not be confused as to what's going on, or have major plot revelations from the first 6 Parts spoiled, but it's much more satisfying to see it happen naturally. In a semi-recent Scott the Woz video on his side channel, his friend is explaining the plot of Phantom Blood to him, and Scott asks if it's jarring to go from a series about Victorian-era vampires to "Bugs Bunny" (referencing Bohemian Rhapsody, and how at the time the vide was recorded, many fans thought that the anime would substitute Bugs Bunny instead of Mickey Mouse for legal reasons). His friend says 'no', because it's such a natural progression you don't even think about it. That is now my biggest example as to why one should not skip parts in JoJo.
It's literally impossible to not skip parts in Doctor Who. The show is so old that entire episodes are missing from the BBC's archives. Also my Doctor Who hot take is that the 50 years of writing plus time travel makes it impossible for the show to stay consistent. I'm pretty sure even New Who contradicted itself.
Hot take: I think the D'Arby brothers are made to foreshadow the twist of Jotaro and Dio having the same Stand and that just flies over everyone's heads.
I honestly love this style of content, it feels like we get to have a kind of conversation/active discussion with you as a community around this series that we all love.
Remember how Bucciarati experienced sensory overload from a single punch from Golden Experience? Even though it was never dwelt upon in detail I'm sure Ciocolata experienced the same thing only he was hit by the 7 page muda. It probably lasted an eternity from Ciocolata's perspective lol
I agree but to play devil's advocate pun unintended it could be argued that Ciocolatta wouldn't have been able to wreck as much havoc as he did to Rome during his fight if it weren't for Diavolo discovering the arrows and granting Ciocolatta a Stand capable of mass destruction in the first place. It's kind of like asking whose worse, a soldier committing a war crime or the officers who ordered/enabled it?
I love how Kira is both relatable in how human he when he's fearing to get caught and at the same time can be an extremely menacing villain. That's an amazing combination
I think a lot of people fail to understand the meaning behind gyro's sacrifice for the child and write off his character as a whole simply because the child is stated to have died later on. It's the fact that gyro gave the child the opportunity to live and ultimately die as a free man. Too many times do I see people cursing Araki for being a bad writer over this just because the meaning behind it flies over their heads.
I do like the idea I feel like it could've been executed better, the lil bab is only relevant to gyro those 2 times, and seeing "he died" at the end always kills me, its so fuckin random LMAO Its a really good character moment but damn is it just irrelevant
It's also less about achieving the goal and more Gyro sticking to his guns right to the end. He always believed in justice and wanted to keep innocent people safe, and if he ever took the easy way out with someone else getting harmed as a result, he'd be betraying himself. So even if the kid didn't live a long life, it doesn't matter. Dead men tell no tales, and Gyro lived according to what he believed was right without giving up his principles along the way.
One of the most confusing things to me that people who are getting into the series say to me is that they do not care about Caesar's death in part 2, and I wanted to express that this video covers exactly why I think it's one of the best in the series. With the overall themes being a celebration of humanity, I feel like Caesar has always perfectly embodied that theme in his final moments (I mean he quite literally talks about the human spirit in his whole monologue) People say that Caesars death isn't impactful because we only know him for a few episodes, but I have always strongly disagreed. In general, I think death in JoJo is by far one of the strongest points of the series overall. Every major death to me (in the cast of heroes) is extremely well executed, impactful, and feels so important and meaningful to the overall story and advancement of its plot and themes.
As a Doctor Who fan who started with the 2005 series quite recently in fact I completely agree with your analysis and want to add my own two cents. The main difference between Steel Ball Run and the 2005 Series is that the latter was specifically written as a Reboot meant to reintroduce Doctor Who to a new audience after a decades long hiatus. The show also adds intrigue for returning viewers by changing up the established status quo in a significant way. SBR doesn't do that and as you pointed out actually builts heavily on the concepts introduced in the previous parts. The only reason people mistake it for a Reboot is that it features alternative characters based on Part 1. The Part I would compare the most to Series 1 of NuWho is ironically Part 3 since it builds up on Part 1+2 while also shaking up the status quo by introducing Stands into the series.
And if its not clear by the OP's comment, 2005 Doctor Who is canonically connected to the 1963-1989 original series, as well as the 1996 movie. Whereas Parts 1-6 and 7-9 of JoJo are separate continuities.
another important bit of context is that a lot of old Doctor Who episodes simply don't exist any more due to a fire that happened, so it's hard to get the full experience of the old series.
Also the fact that classic Doctor Who ran for 30 years before stopping while JoJo part 1-6 (anime) ran for about 5 years. It's way easier to catch up to JoJo than Doctor Who, not even counting the fact that you can't even watch certain episodes of classic Doctor Who so it's impossible to get the full story.
The take at 21:30 is so true. Part 7 is an amazing part, and i love it to death, but people act like it invalidates every other part in the series and hype it up too much. When i first read it with the expectation that it was so amazing, it would blow every part out of the water, i came out of it a little disappointed. But when i reread it without those sentiments/expectations, i enjoyed it a lot more. I also feel like this thought process applies to other parts, too, since some parts have this occur in the opposite way where people blindly rush through them to get to another, "better", part. (Part 1 and 6 being the standout examples)
I went into Part 7 expecting the best thing since sliced bread with the way the fandom was praising it, but then when I actually read it, it was just... okay? Like, yeah, SBR was a really good part, and Araki basically doubling his page count per chapter meant that it had a lot more meat to it, but it was most certainly overhyped. Kind of ironically, my favourite part of SBR was when they brought back something from the previous parts - the moment where alternate universe Diego shows up with The World. I will actually remember everything about the moment I first saw it for the rest of my life.
Would be cool to make a video regarding the connection between (almost)every stand and user. While for some stand users it’s not elaborated on how the stand fits them, but part 3 with tarots and part 5 especially really make them intertwined(purple haze represents fugo’s rage and perfectionism, narancia’s aerosmith represents his childlike behavior…)
Part 1 & 2 skippers crack me up, because I remember getting to the end of part 2, and being excited af for future hamon developments following a peak part establishing it even better than the first, and being pissed off when I saw stands 😹
I feel like a lot of people who overglorify Valentine seem to miss the entire point of Johnny's gun test at the end of their fight. Johnny essentially called Valentine on his bluff. That, if he really believed all of the patriotic, help my nation rhetoric he spews, he could pick up the gun without any tricks or betrayals, that he would let another version of Gyro and himself live in peace. And Valentine couldn't even manage that. Because for all of his bluster about his patriotism, about his love for his country, he is on top of that a self absorbed, deluded narcisist. He doesn't just want the corpse to protect his nation, he wants it to have his nation (and by extension, himself) be seen as the peak of the world. And he doesn't care how many people have to die for that to be accomplished. Letting Johnny and Gyro live would be meaning he failed, he lost, that he had to give up something. And his ego won't allow that. All of his talk was just that...talk. Talk he uses to continuously justify his increasingly unjustifiable, monsterous actions.
Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of Johnny (his character development was kinda cool but just not that “wow” since I’ve played a lot of JRPGs, and I couldn’t get on board with his corpse-hunting motivation) but he was totally awesome in that arc
@leaffinite2001 I think he was comparing the character development in JRPGs to Johnny's ( that JRPGs tend to have great character development so Johnny's isn't something special ) but just made it sound really out of place, in addition to ignoring the fact that they are two very different mediums and thus can't be compared. Our something else I dunno he worded tgat really weird so I'm spitballing at this point....😅
Phantom Blood got me so hooked when I first watched it. By the way, the last chapter of the Phantom Blood manga may be one of the best last chapters to any shonen I've seen. I love it from the chapter cover to the beautiful last page
I always respected part 1 for being "the start" but only recently did I appreciate its vibe, it's a very traditional hero's journey but told in a very confident and unique way. I love Jonathan's chivalry, Dio's unrepentant evil, Speedwagon's development, Zeppeli's batshit crazyness... and the ending is a real tear jerker.
I consider Pucci's and Weather's backstory to be the best backstory ever told in Jojo's. The dynamic and tragedy, as well as the conclusion to both characters absolutely flawless writing and think it's one of the best segments/arcs in Jojo.
@@silentclaw6439to be fair if someone watches with subtitles their attention will be mostly at the bottom of the screen and not the color of the sky 😂
stray cat would be awesome to have as a pet, it's really just a cat that won't make much noise, especially at night, and it will protect you from any danger
I think that what makes Valentine a really good villain, is that he literally embodies "a politician". He has natural charisma that just makes people like him despite his evil actions. On a surface level, he seems like he could be the good guy but if you actually just look at his actions throughout the story, he's just this incredible evil guy.
Of... of course the stands in Stone Ocean were extra insane, *it was the end. You finish a story with a bang.* And honestly I always saw the part as Araki's take on a biblical apocalypse where the end of the world is preceded by a long string of surreal cataclysms, something that stands are just perfect for.
YES! I was too was thinking the reasons for the stands being so weird and unorthodox was supposed to be a sort of biblical allusion, what with bible stories having unnatural occurrences happening. Like a baby is created by a bunch of souls and becomes a stand after merging with a bone of a dead vampire and a priest. A man made people turn to snails just by having them contact rainbows with subliminal messages. Meteors from the sky. Rods, which technically don't even exist. Dementia. Girl turns to string. Memories being taken. Just Dragon's Dream. The list goes on, and the funny thing is that i see people turn away from the bible the same way they turn away from part 6 due to weird abilities displayed. And the crazy thing is said weird things tend to be metaphors for something.
The people who think Valentine is 'good', just because he wanted prosperity for one country, should just start worshipping Pucci as the second coming of the christ, because he wanted DIO's 'Heaven plan' to benefit the entire humanity.
Man idk why but Jonathan's theme feels just like a spider-man theme. It has that heroic feeling, the sense of loss, tough will and most importantly its there blessing and curse because one is a Joestar and other one is Spider-man.. damnn
2:55 I feel like it also goes down to simplicity of the words. For most people Ripple is a harder word to use and remember than Hamon and for a lot of non-native speakers, both words are likely meaningless. When it comes to Kaiten and Spin - it's other way around. Spin is easier to pronounce and remember and it's also a much more common word. Being released at different times and different (fan)-translation styles - also probably affected it. 4:50 We had few stand users that would be nice as Hamon users, mostly due to the nature of their stands. Like Dragon's Den for me feels like a logical example, where stand isn't necessarily the main power of its user. We also had few other stand users, whose power was more area/effect based or who had drone-stands - not necessarily actively offensive. I mean, we kinda got that in part 7 tbh. Spin is a similar concept to Hamon and for many users - it's a secondary power or a power that buffed their stand abilities. We could have more stand users that fought alongside their own stand. Or stand users with more non-combative, but useful abilities that could fight by themselves when needed.
I think hamon makes more sense anyways, since it kinda sounds like breathing. Ripple doesn't really have any sort of connection to the actual acts the characters prefom
I read the fan translated manga back in 2004 which always called it ripple. I didn't recall seeing hamon used in translations until the 2012 anime. I can't remember what word the official translation of the 1993 anime or VIZ's early 2000's translation of Startdust Crusaders manga used.
People saying that Funny Valentine is not evil says a lot about their perspective on morality and sexual consent Edit: My god, the replies are just unbelievably disgusting. And worst of all, y'all are just proving my point. These people should really touch some grass and get some therapy
Araki looked into real-life serial killers when creating Kira, I wonder if he researched former US presidents when creating Funny Valentine so he could base Valentine's character off of the most deranged and ruthless war criminals of the lot.
I love that communities have a guiding voice when it comes to explaining stuff/lore Fromsoft has vaatividya And jojo has The goat Hamon Beat keep the content up bro love your vids
I think in addition to what you said about Kira's death, it ties into him wanting to live a quiet life, which he's stated as one of his primary motivations. As such, he's given one of the most common causes of death: a car accident
Love these kinds of videos. There's nothing I like more than learning in depth about how Jojo is written and how its portrayed to the common audience. I find myself scoffing at these "bad takes" a lot but sometimes I can even undertstand where their coming from. Most of the time tho its like c'mon guys get with the program.
Not even. A few of his plans are clever, but it rubs me the wrong way that he just killsteals Axl Ro to get 90% of the corpse, gets lucky with Lucy suddenly getting the last part, and then gets into only one perilous fight against Diego and Hot Pants before becoming almost invincible. Like yeah there’s the whole “dying over and over with D4C” thing, but the AU Valentines have enough in common with his own collective mind to seem more like a reviving body than clones with independent thoughts and souls. He just doesn’t seem very dedicated to me in-practice.
I'm afraid as time goes on and the newer generations discover jojo, these blatant and obscenely confident misunderstandings will become more common. Especially considering how the average attention span keeps plummeting to inconceivable depths.
I wonder if American fans don't see Valentine as a good guy because his actions are to benefit America. In another wording, they might be more inclined to find him evil if he was Japanese or German or British. The ultimate irony of that comment is that Valentine and Toru essentially have the same goal: ultimate prosperity for their people at the expense of all others, and yet the comment praises Valentine while scorning Toru.
I think its a mix of Americans being Americans + reading comprehension of jojo fans + over hyping jojo became a big mixing pot for people saying Valentine wasnt evil
(20:0920:53) I would like to mention that, as someone who actively watches Kamen Rider, each season is very much a completely separate thing. While you could absolutely start with the original Kamen Rider show, starting from any of the other series is completely fine as well. And even with crossovers and extra media, they often have debatable canonicity to the series involved.
I don't think he meant it as in they're all connected. He's recommending you start from the beginning to see how the series changes and evolves over time, which will give you a deeper appreciation for the franchise as a whole. I'm doing just that with Godzilla, and it is very fascinating to see how much things change and how much they stay the same over the decades.
@@leetri Yeah but the original is 98 episodes of mostly monster of the week from 1971, recommending it as the entry point is just going to make most people give up early on. It's not like Godzilla where each movie is like two hours at most, you could watch half of the Godzilla franchise in the same time it would take you to finish the first kamen rider show.
8:08, I have a love/hate relationship with this art-style, on a one hand; it can make characters look really pretty or on the other hand; it can make them look like toothpick.
jojo fans are the type of people who watch the main villain: 1. Sell drugs to children 2. Order Chiocollata to kill Gelato e Sorbet in probably the most gruesome and brutal way possible 3. Attempt to kill his own daughter solely to keep his indentity safe 4. Kill Bruno Bucciarati (which is later "revived" by Giorno's power and his own will, but ultimately deteriorates as the part progresses until his death) 5. Kill Abbachio (Fr this time) 6. Severely debilitate Polnareff and cut any contact he could have with Jotaro 7. Kill Narancia (also fr) 8. Be the main reason on why Doppio's life was "bad" and the they get mad when he gets punished.
He has died, and will die, for more seconds than he was ever alive, for more atoms than he ever touched, and far more times than he broke fate. I’m not saying he shouldn’t be punished, but at some point torture becomes cruel. Diavolo reaches that point no matter what you think is adequate for him.
I think the point made in the video is very strong: Diavolo COULD SCAPE FATE. Meaning that, even if he was dethrowned as a whole mafia's boss, he would still be able to scape whatevee punishment was sent his way, thanks to his very specific stand, that makes him able to scape any situation by re-positioning himself elsewhere. The ONLY way to punish a guy this cruel, insensitive, and inhumane, is with a punishment he would not be able to scape. ¿It was the most humane way? No. But it was the only way to stop him from being a monster... A enclosure of fate itself that was not able to be controlled by him. (Like, imagine someone like him with the power to manipulate, not his fate only, but others' fates as well, thanks to make his stand more powerfull with the arrow… He would become a DIO 2.0 VERY quickly.)
Nah. It is still insane that Diavolo has had the worst fate in all of fiction. Yes, the point is he tried dominating fate so he was punished by fate. But morally speaking, he deserves a torturous death. NOT ALL OF THEM! Like even his will resets to zero: He can't even get accustomed to how painful it is. It just looks extra weird given he's not even the most evil villain in the series, not even the most evil in his own part.
I mean, Diavolo probably just ordered chiocollata to kill sorbet an gelato without any specification and the gruesome death was just chiocollata's twisted touch.
For Ripple/Hamon vs. Spin/Kaiten one thing that could distinguish them is their respective in-series origins. Hamon is introduced to us as a rather "Eastern" style, with its roots (that we're given through Zeppeli) being traced to India and it being a breath technique which is more aligned with Oriental philosophy, while Spin is specifically a technique of "Western" influence through Italy and Western concepts like the exploration of the Golden Ratio that was done most primarily by European academics. I mean, it's not really a hard and fast because under that logic Hamon would be using a Hindi or Sanskrit term and Spin would be using Italian or Latin but that the sort of "East-West vibe" can subtly nudge people to using one of the two generally recognized terms more.
From these hot takes I now realise that most people just do not appreciate "kino". They don't even know what it is even if it hit them in the face. Also I feel nuts for not disliking any part now that I hear these takes, it seems everyone has at least one part that they hate very much dislike.
It’s all about personal taste. Personally, I dislike part 3, as I enjoy character development and progression, and the only person I can really get that from in Stardust Crusaders is Polnareff.
Don’t feel nuts, feel proud. Means you found something to love in each and don’t let the problems bring you down. That or your standards are insanely low and you just ignore all problems due to self-delusion, but I’m gonna give the benefit of the doubt and assume this isn’t the reason! Especially since I also like all the parts.
5:36 I'd like to add to the Road Roller thing by pointing out that that DIO using the Road Roller *_actually did have a point_* and it wasn't a completely random thing. In the final fight of Part 3, it became a central point that Jotaro needs to get in close enough to DIO to obliterate him with Star Platinum's punches. However, DIO was strategically countering him using The World's powerful punches, the Time Stop, and long-range throwing knives. So the Road Roller is actually a way for DIO to avoid Star Platinum's range while still launching his own powerful attack at the same time. Note that it was legitimately a good enough attack that Jotaro could only escape/counter it by doing his own Time Stop, which DIO couldn't possibly have predicted. 13:15 And yes, Diavolo's fate is indeed justified. Yes, characters like Cioccolata are probably worse, but *1)* that doesn't change the fact that Diavolo nonetheless still deserved (just because his crimes arent' as extreme doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve the death loop). And *2)* unlike those other horrible villains in the series, GER's death loop was one of the only things that could _ACTUALLY STOP_ Diavolo. Araki himself explained that King Crimson is such an overpowered Stand with its ability to avoid Fate that only something that constantly rewinds and nullifies continued actions (AKA a loop with no room for continuation) could reliably defeat Diavolo. It was a mix of Diavolo very much deserving it, as well as being the only feasible way for the characters to actually take him down for good.
1. Diavolo death is not justified 2. He could have just normally killed diavolo like by mista bullets or just freaking punching without sending him in a loop 3. Diavolo is not defeated he will just freaking come back when giorno is dead
People just don't like part 1 because it's the most tragic and serious part and most people just watch JoJo for the memes. Not saying part 1 doesn't have the trademark bizarreness and some funny moments but it had way less of it than say, Part 3 or Part 4.
I think that might also be why part 6 is very disliked as well. Like i see that both part 1 and part 6 are usually the parts people recommend skipping, people tend to hate or outright shit on, or just plain overlooked. Both end with the protagonists dying too. But it's a shame cuz i feel there's a good amount of nuance and i admittedly like how bleak those parts are as they lead to interesting conflict for the characters. It isn't just punch, move on, punch move on and suceed on your goals. Even in physical fights, the protagonists tend to lose something or not be able to prevent all conflict from happening.
@@KikoElGatito I don't think so, anime only, I think part six had weird pacing which is the biggest reason for disliking it, I thought it was just mediocre and not very memorable, I don't think it ever really had any stand out moment compared to other parts despite the general spectacle. Like part two fights against Kars and Whammu, were clear standouts, part three, Darby and DIO, part 1, Dio's fights, part 4 Kira fights, part 5, Risotto, Bucciarati (I'd want to include more from five, Ghiaccio or Prosciutto but oh well). I can't think of anything other than Pucci's fight against weather and Pucci's final. (my own comparison of watched parts for reference, 2>5>1=4>3>6)
@@voxsvoxs4261 I mean, imma be honest with you, but the fact that you said you're an anime only fan shows that you're lacking a lot of context, but that actually ain't on ya. That's actually on David Pro cuz aside from Part 1, Part 6 was done really dirty in the anime. Like A LOT was cut out, so characters personalities weren't properly displayed and the plot was more out of focused. Sure there were some stuff added to it, but it's secondary to what was cut. The surprising thing is that Part 6 is actually longer than Part 5 in the manga, yet gets an episode less than Part 5. Part 5 realistically speaking would have been like a 30 episode anime, but well, the thing is that Part 5 wasn't popular outside of Japan before the anime released. But David Pro really did put effort into making Part 5 and that effort shows as now it's well liked world wide instead of just it's home country. Shame that they dropped the ball hard on Part 6, as you would expect that they would up the quality, especially since this is the final part of the original universe. Instead, we get overtly reused assets (notice how a lot of Stone Ocean merch uses the same goddamn Jolyne.png), a watered down plot, and bland animation with out of place CGI here and there. What sucks is that David Pro had the money as Netflix gave them a huge budget and time constraints weren't placed (you CAN blame Netflix for the dropping batches), so yeah, kinda don't want David Pro adapting Part 7(for all i care, they can continue making those crappy Rohan Kishibe spin-offs). The lack of care is evident in the blu-rays even as all that was changed was lighting. Then there's that Stone Ocean was assigned a B-Team, which is a red flag as b-teams typically consists of less than experienced workers. Dunno if you heard, but the reasoning behind the hiring competent guest animators like grand guerilla later on in the anime was because of this. With all of that being said (sorry, but I really don't like part 6 anime), if you liked part 1 based off the anime alone, you really should check out the manga as there's a good amount of content cut of, more than the aforementioned part 6, and it's a very good read!
I can’t explain how absolutely cathartic it is to hear someone point out the definitive fact that, yes actually, Valentine IS VERY EVIL. This particular opinion has always been especially concerning to me when you apply the way these people look at him to real-life politicians. But even without bringing it into real life, it’s patently ridiculous to think that the man who wants to redirect all misfortune onto the rest of the world for the sole benefit of his own country (and by virtue of being the president of that country, himself) is a good person, even if you somehow ignore all of the murder and SA and other flat out evil stuff he does that just can’t be justified. What a reveal it is to see that guy never even read Part 7 too, lmao. You can’t make this shit up.
Destroying other countries in order to benefit America is like, a fundamental part of American politics and has always been even before the nation itself was actually founded.
My JoJo hot take is that people who find Joseph cheating on Suzie Q as character assassination either didn't pay attention to Joseph being a huge dirtbag at times during Part 2 (him being a cheating punk and a liar was kind of the big character trait that separated him from Jonathan) or have a very naive outlook on marriage, specially one as long and that started as early as Joseph and Suzie's. I don't find it entirely unreasonable that an attractive man with a history of being a hustler (actual meaning of the word) and all the money in the world would have a fling at some point during a 50 year old marriage that started when he was not even 20. Specially during a time period when male infidelity was pretty normalized.
Also suzie can't have been easy to live with especially for most your life she is a bit of a ditz. She forgot to tell people joesph was alive after all
THANK YOU FOR SEGMENTING THE HOT TAKES BY PARTS!!! In a few of your other videos (araki forgot and such), it was not organized and would lead to random trivia about later parts being brought up without the viewers knowing how or when they might get spoiled. Wonderful change!
Sleeping Slaves also thematically had closure by making loose reference to Sisyphus. "One must imagine Sisyphus happy" kinda ends up being the closing theme of Part 5.
the color scheme in part 4 is absolutely amazing and it truly makes morioh feel like morioh, giving part 4 a different mood compared to the other parts, I wish they did something like that with jojolion knowing that it also takes place in another version of morioh
A hot take stemming from the CLAMP take, I think Jolyne’s stand ability being somewhat of a fusion between Star Platinum and Hierophant Green and that it’s specifically stated to smell like soap (which Jota’s stand is named after) is Araki’s way of making Jolyne directly relatable to female Jojo fans but as a way of almost canonizing Jota. It’s part of why I love Araki’s freedom in new writers adding to the JoJo canon nowadays, and part of why I love Jolyne (and why Jodio is ranking really high too)
I watched part 5 on Crunchyroll when it came out (literally just started getting in to it) I loved the sleeping slaves part because it’s about fate, sacrifice and outcome.
I love people saying Valentine is a good character and not as evil as the other antagonist in the series, that just shows how they were coerced by his speech, forgotting everything he did before just as the other characters in steel ball run
10:08 people didn’t like Chase because it sounded more like an anime opening from a completely different series like Bleach or Naruto rather then a JOJO OP. I’ve even remember some saying it sounded more like an SAO Op then a jojo op lol (sao was the punching bag of the community back then 😂)
It was also because the song was like "chase" (repeated for 80 times) and a final sentence. Also the visuals with Crazy diamond fighting against some kind of dark energy strings didn't help
I like the song by itself, but it's kind of an aggressive song instead of what should be a mysterious one. I can't see Josuke rocking out to Chase, but Great Days and CNBT both, for sure.
honestly chase always hit hard and felt apt to me, yeah even with the slice of life shenanigans in morioh it still has the dark underbelly of kira and angelo, and i still think angelo is one of the most gruesome jojo villains and he's a minor villain at that
another thing just to add to the kira's death one, his whole goal was to live a quiet life. so it's pretty fitting that his death is mundane, simple, one of the most common possible ways to die, rather than getting bombastically finished off in a stand fight
I would like to give a question for your next Araki Forgot Extras video: In Part 6, when Jolyne was fighting the guard with the meteor stand, she ripped off his toenail to distract him with the pain and let go of her, but he shouldn't have felt pain due to Survivor.
What people forget about Diavolo's punishment and Part 5 in general is that Giorno is brutal when he wants to be When Giorno finishes off a foe in this part he does in a way unlike others going to length to truly finish them Think the 5-page Muda, finishing off Ghiaccio, and yes also Diavolo How see it is, he is like Dio when it comes to his enemies and like Jonathan when it comes to friends
6:29 personally they could shortened part 3 or at least have made the time spent traveling more meaningful. Parts like part 5 did a far better job at pacing when doing the adventure type story format that part 3 also used. Also no one dies until the end which removed a lot of the stakes and made the sudden deaths of half of the team extremely abrupt. I think they should have not brought back Abdul because it was a integral for Polnaref's character development. I was so excited to see the character interactions between Abdul's father and Polnaref, but that was just a bait and switch to just being back Abdul out of nowhere. The rest of the team not telling Polnaref about it just fealt out of character and especially because this isn't something you keep secret to your team about a the survival of a team member. Overall part 3 feals static and dull due to the part just repeating the same episode structure over and over again with little variation. You know in part 4 you at least had more villens stick around for more than an episode. Like imagine if the man with two identical hands had stuck around for longer. The only villens that had any kind of larger roll was hull horse and the witch but other than them every one else is a one off villen.
Not to also mention after his whole “I just want what’s best for my people!” Speech, Johnny ask Valentine to pick up the gun he threw, and it turns out Valentine was just gonna shoot Johnny no matter what. So there is also a good chance that whole speech was a flat out lie, or at least intentionally manipulative.
Part 6 is so experimental with it's abilities and I love that about it. It does make the actual quality of some of the stands (for my taste) very hit and miss, some of my absolute favorites stand fights are in that part as well as the ones I can't stand at all being in the same part. Though, all the parts have weaker encounters and the overall story and character arcs are some of my favorite. Part 4 is my favorite part but Jolyne is my favorite JoJo.
Also the fact that whoever wrote that comment was definitely an American. If it was Russia or Iran who had the plan to deflect all misfortune inflicted upon them to other countries (including America) they'd definitely view that as evil
I think the first part was a bit slow at first, but it got very interesting later on. I still watched it because JoJos actually requires proper context and it literally made me cry at some points. Also the intro is fucking great, that song is stuck in my head.
My hot take is that it's totally okay to skip literally whatever parts you want. People act like if you skip a part you'll be completely confused and have no idea what's going on but you can skip a part and still know what happens in it. The wiki exists, there's a hundred videos recapping every part, there's a million ways to know the story without actually watching or reading the part and that DOES NOT INVALIDATE YOUR OPINION
kira get ran over by the ambulance is perfect in more ways than you mentioned.
@@Myne1001it’s absolutely hilarious, bro got ran over and you even see his head twist
That and he wanted to have the most normal life possible, and his life ended not by him being killed by the main characters' spirit punch ghosts but by a traffic accident, a way more normal way of dying
And also the ambulance ripped his face off
Ironic for someone trying to hide hinself
How exactly is it dramatic irony though?
I don’t understand why people would skip parts 1 and 2, they’re so good in my opinion
Well, part 1 is extremely generic imo. It's basically fist of the north star but with vampires lol. Part 2 is good though
They are better than 3 and 4
Exactly but that's just how the cultfandom works.
As a anime as a whole, part 1 feels like ova, part 2 is the big deal for jojo

@@shinyagumon7015
Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who’d agree with him on that…
I might be assuming too much here but I think a big part of it is bias.

The "stupid comment" part was unnecessary, you know? Also, I'm saying that people are exaggerating at the time of saying they don't watch part 1 because they consider it "boring". While an anime with only 9 episodes may be boring for some, using that as the only excuse not to watch it is completely absurd.
I think some people really only find part 1 to be boring is because they know and expect jojo's to get better after this point.I suggest when it's your first time watching part 1 or jojo's in general you should really only focus on it and try to enjoy it,because some people really only watch part 1 is to try find it's flaws and comparing it to others parts.

It’s truly about resolve and preserving even if the consequences are hard to swallow
since he bassicly skipped part 5, here's a hot take that shouldnt be one: Its bad
For a guy that doesn’t use color normally, Araki is fantastic with letting his characters stand out from the background with color.
mfs be fine watching 1100 one piece episodes but get mad when they need to watch 9 episodes to understand the basic of jojo (nothing against one piece I am at episode 1007)
People hate committing to anything. I've seen people bitching that they HAD to watch One Piece up to the time skip, as if that was slog to get through before the main course and not a main course itself. People are dumb, and can't appreciate what they have, they take it as an obligation and not fun.

Like this is literally the start of the jostar curse where each joestar is cursed to deal with soke sort of consequence of dio putting on that mask

That is now my biggest example as to why one should not skip parts in JoJo.

since he bassicly skipped part 5, here's a hot take that shouldnt be one: Its bad
I disagree but I do think they’re crucial to developing Jotaro’s ability to bluff under pressure, which is what he does throughout the Dio fight
I honestly love this style of content, it feels like we get to have a kind of conversation/active discussion with you as a community around this series that we all love.
Diavolo probably deserved the "Infinite Loop" punishment, but we all should agree Ciocolatta deserved it FAR more
Cioccolata should've been the main villain
He definitely at least deserved the 7 Page Muda. Bro was a complete psychopath and even Diavolo was disgusted by him
Remember how Bucciarati experienced sensory overload from a single punch from Golden Experience?
@@mrfact03s Okay, maybe not cuz Cioccolata doesn't even have a motive for what he does, dude just kills for fun...

“Ultimately, when a tennis ball bounces off the top of the net, no one knows which side it will fall on.”
I do like the idea I feel like it could've been executed better, the lil bab is only relevant to gyro those 2 times, and seeing "he died" at the end always kills me, its so fuckin random LMAO
Its a really good character moment but damn is it just irrelevant
It's also less about achieving the goal and more Gyro sticking to his guns right to the end. He always believed in justice and wanted to keep innocent people safe, and if he ever took the easy way out with someone else getting harmed as a result, he'd be betraying himself. So even if the kid didn't live a long life, it doesn't matter. Dead men tell no tales, and Gyro lived according to what he believed was right without giving up his principles along the way.
I had to factory reset after hearing the words "Funny Valentine" and "Not Evil" in the same sentence.
One of the most confusing things to me that people who are getting into the series say to me is that they do not care about Caesar's death in part 2, and I wanted to express that this video covers exactly why I think it's one of the best in the series. With the overall themes being a celebration of humanity, I feel like Caesar has always perfectly embodied that theme in his final moments (I mean he quite literally talks about the human spirit in his whole monologue)
People say that Caesars death isn't impactful because we only know him for a few episodes, but I have always strongly disagreed.
I was literally about to comment on that hot take. Thanks for doing my job for me 🤣🤣🤣👍
And if its not clear by the OP's comment, 2005 Doctor Who is canonically connected to the 1963-1989 original series, as well as the 1996 movie. Whereas Parts 1-6 and 7-9 of JoJo are separate continuities.
Revival, not reboot. "Reboot" is usually taken by people to mean new continuity. Otherwise- agreed on all points.
another important bit of context is that a lot of old Doctor Who episodes simply don't exist any more due to a fire that happened, so it's hard to get the full experience of the old series.
Some fans are really annoying with their hate for certain parts.
Like I get not vibing with one, but don't treat it like it's dog shit.
Yeah I had the same experience, I really want to read p7 without the hype but its a little hard with how common it is

While for some stand users it’s not elaborated on how the stand fits them, but part 3 with tarots and part 5 especially really make them intertwined(purple haze represents fugo’s rage and perfectionism, narancia’s aerosmith represents his childlike behavior…)
ngl this would be cool as hell to watch

@emblemblade9245 what on earth does jrpgs have to do with this
@@emblemblade9245?
@leaffinite2001 I think he was comparing the character development in JRPGs to Johnny's ( that JRPGs tend to have great character development so Johnny's isn't something special ) but just made it sound really out of place, in addition to ignoring the fact that they are two very different mediums and thus can't be compared. Our something else I dunno he worded tgat really weird so I'm spitballing at this point....😅
I never understood why people hated on Chase OP, loved it the moment I heard it
And it fits with the urgency to find the killer too
Phantom Blood got me so hooked when I first watched it.
I like that we got to see the absolute peak of what Hamon can do, at least briefly, and then it takes a huge back seat for the rest of the story
I consider Pucci's and Weather's backstory to be the best backstory ever told in Jojo's.
The dynamic and tragedy, as well as the conclusion to both characters absolutely flawless writing and think it's one of the best segments/arcs in Jojo.
I didn't even notice that the sky in part 4 wasn't blue, impressive

My hot take is that killer queen is the most cutest and terrifying stand of all time like look at that cute kitten
It combines the cuteness and cute ear factor of a cat with the horrifying destructive potential and murderous inclinations of a cat
stray cat would be awesome to have as a pet, it's really just a cat that won't make much noise, especially at night, and it will protect you from any danger
I think that what makes Valentine a really good villain, is that he literally embodies "a politician". He has natural charisma that just makes people like him despite his evil actions. On a surface level, he seems like he could be the good guy but if you actually just look at his actions throughout the story, he's just this incredible evil guy.
Part two is the best part 😭it's very good and has so much to show
Of... of course the stands in Stone Ocean were extra insane, *it was the end.
I also love that the stands aren't just "big explosion", bohemian rahpsody is so weird and it one of the stands that can actually END the world.
I can't believe I've never considered that interpretation. It's brilliant.
we live in a world where "funny valentine was kind of a good guy" people can vote.....

Dude straight up, I have so many people telling me they skip or dislike Part 1 and I'm totally with you on this one
Spin in part 7 being used alongside stands is exactly the kind of thing I wanted to happen to hamon in part 3 but didn't.
I read the fan translated manga back in 2004 which always called it ripple. I didn't recall seeing hamon used in translations until the 2012 anime. I can't remember what word the official translation of the 1993 anime or VIZ's early 2000's translation of Startdust Crusaders manga used.
People saying that Funny Valentine is not evil says a lot about their perspective on morality and sexual consent

Araki looked into real-life serial killers when creating Kira, I wonder if he researched former US presidents when creating Funny Valentine so he could base Valentine's character off of the most deranged and ruthless war criminals of the lot.

Fromsoft has vaatividya And jojo has The goat Hamon Beat
keep the content up bro love your vids
nah that guy talking about how valentine is actually is good guy just to say he hasn't read it is absolutely diabolical
I think in addition to what you said about Kira's death, it ties into him wanting to live a quiet life, which he's stated as one of his primary motivations. As such, he's given one of the most common causes of death: a car accident
We now live in a world where one can argue the musicals are the superior adaptations. What a time to be alive...
Sometime they can be... sometimes
For me, Valentine falls into the villain category of “they’re a piece of shit, but their dedication is respectable”
It’s not only an understandable motivation, but a based one.
I think its a mix of Americans being Americans + reading comprehension of jojo fans + over hyping jojo became a big mixing pot for people saying Valentine wasnt evil
He said he doesn’t know anything about toru
Valentine could lead any country. He's a good leader that would do anything for his nation.
They don't scorn Tooru tho. I actually think Tooru is only not brought uo cuz even some manga onlys say they skip part 8
(20:09 20:53) I would like to mention that, as someone who actively watches Kamen Rider, each season is very much a completely separate thing.
@@leetri That I understand. I'm just giving my thoughts and explaining that it's not the only valid way to go about watching Kamen Rider.
It was so fun to hear your thoughts on these! Very much looking forward to a part two.
8:08, I have a love/hate relationship with this art-style, on a one hand; it can make characters look really pretty or on the other hand; it can make them look like toothpick.
jojo fans are the type of people who watch the main villain:
1. Sell drugs to children
2. Order Chiocollata to kill Gelato e Sorbet in probably the most gruesome and brutal way possible
3. Attempt to kill his own daughter solely to keep his indentity safe
4. Kill Bruno Bucciarati (which is later "revived" by Giorno's power and his own will, but ultimately deteriorates as the part progresses until his death)
5. Kill Abbachio (Fr this time)
6. Severely debilitate Polnareff and cut any contact he could have with Jotaro
7. Kill Narancia (also fr)
8. Be the main reason on why Doppio's life was "bad"
and the they get mad when he gets punished.
He has died, and will die, for more seconds than he was ever alive, for more atoms than he ever touched, and far more times than he broke fate. I’m not saying he shouldn’t be punished, but at some point torture becomes cruel. Diavolo reaches that point no matter what you think is adequate for him.
I think the point made in the video is very strong:
Diavolo COULD SCAPE FATE.
Ok that's all bad, but some villains are worse. Dio had a mom literally eat her own baby. He had a quick death.
1. Diavolo death is not justified
2. He could have just normally killed diavolo like by mista bullets or just freaking punching without sending him in a loop
3. Diavolo is not defeated he will just freaking come back when giorno is dead
Thinking that funny valentine is a good guy despite his evil actions, is kinda funny and sad cause tbh this very realistic towards real people
People just don't like part 1 because it's the most tragic and serious part and most people just watch JoJo for the memes.
Dio boxes jojo and jabs a thumb in his eye, people miss all that character build up.
@@KikoElGatito that's fair, my biggest problem with that is I have a pretty big to read list, so I haven't gotten into reading JoJo yet.
Thank you it's my take too. It's what make Joseph a great JoJo he feel more humane that the otherworldly JoJo in the story.
I love how you always organize the video by part so I can stop your video and come back when I've caught up. I did that for every part so far lmao
the color scheme in part 4 is absolutely amazing and it truly makes morioh feel like morioh, giving part 4 a different mood compared to the other parts, I wish they did something like that with jojolion knowing that it also takes place in another version of morioh
It’s part of why I love Araki’s freedom in new writers adding to the JoJo canon nowadays, and part of why I love Jolyne (and why Jodio is ranking really high too)
Part 1 is so awesome to rewatch because it’s so short. It’s when we get to part 3 that it gets harder to rewatch with new people
I watched part 5 on Crunchyroll when it came out (literally just started getting in to it) I loved the sleeping slaves part because it’s about fate, sacrifice and outcome.
I love people saying Valentine is a good character and not as evil as the other antagonist in the series, that just shows how they were coerced by his speech, forgotting everything he did before just as the other characters in steel ball run
Just like many real country leaders...
I think that they are just assholes. "Got mine fuck you" is the driving factor behind a very large percentage of American politics.
I always love when people say "Tooru didn't have enough of a presence in jojolion" Hes a rock human. Of course he didn't.
good take
10:08 people didn’t like Chase because it sounded more like an anime opening from a completely different series like Bleach or Naruto rather then a JOJO OP. I’ve even remember some saying it sounded more like an SAO Op then a jojo op lol (sao was the punching bag of the community back then 😂)
i thought it was because of the Singers voice?
It was also because the song was like "chase" (repeated for 80 times) and a final sentence. Also the visuals with Crazy diamond fighting against some kind of dark energy strings didn't help
I like the song by itself, but it's kind of an aggressive song instead of what should be a mysterious one. I can't see Josuke rocking out to Chase, but Great Days and CNBT both, for sure.
honestly chase always hit hard and felt apt to me, yeah even with the slice of life shenanigans in morioh it still has the dark underbelly of kira and angelo, and i still think angelo is one of the most gruesome jojo villains and he's a minor villain at that
i read part 7 with insane expectations and it absouletly delivered
in fact it was way better than i expected
another thing just to add to the kira's death one, his whole goal was to live a quiet life. so it's pretty fitting that his death is mundane, simple, one of the most common possible ways to die, rather than getting bombastically finished off in a stand fight
"Hamon Beat Trashes your garbage JoJo opinion" has got to be one of my favorite genres on youtube. Keep it up
I would like to give a question for your next Araki Forgot Extras video:
In Part 6, when Jolyne was fighting the guard with the meteor stand, she ripped off his toenail to distract him with the pain and let go of her, but he shouldn't have felt pain due to Survivor.
What people forget about Diavolo's punishment and Part 5 in general is that Giorno is brutal when he wants to be
When Giorno finishes off a foe in this part he does in a way unlike others going to length to truly finish them
Think the 5-page Muda, finishing off Ghiaccio, and yes also Diavolo
How see it is, he is like Dio when it comes to his enemies and like Jonathan when it comes to friends
People being convinced by Valentine claiming he's righteous is so fitting for his character
3:00 do you think that SBR subs (when the anime comes out) will sub the power as 'Kaiten', making the community call if that instead of Spin?
"spin" is so iconic i really hope that doesn't happen
Part 6 is so experimental with it's abilities and I love that about it. It does make the actual quality of some of the stands (for my taste) very hit and miss, some of my absolute favorites stand fights are in that part as well as the ones I can't stand at all being in the same part. Though, all the parts have weaker encounters and the overall story and character arcs are some of my favorite. Part 4 is my favorite part but Jolyne is my favorite JoJo.
I just love the Valentine take. "He says that he just wants to help America! Moreover, he's the President! And politicians never lie, right? Right?"
