Thanks man. Yeah I am lucky to have a wife like I do. She hooked me up! Happy New Year my friend! Peace & Love
2:19 honestly dude, a patternaker's vise is a great way to go. My carving jig works great, but it takes up a lot of shop space when not in use. Also, that vise is useful for lots of other things too. Thanks for the shoutout brother!
Man, you are very welcome. I was so close to building one of those jigs. I knew the vise would be a better option for me and you're right, it will be useful for so many different things. I got it from Grizzly! It was on sale😃 anyhoo, Happy New Year to you and Mrs. Unit!!✌️&🤍
Happy new year to you and yours too!
Congrats on the wedding anniversary! Happy new year and once again Thank you for these wonderful videos
👏👏👏👏🤘🏻❤️👍
Thank you as well and Happy New Year to you!! I wish you all the best for 2024!✌️&🤍
Happy Anniversary to you and your wife, and Happy New Year as well. So excited for you and your builds this year, off to such an amazing start already. This Tele is going to be stunningly beautiful. Also, anticipating the Les Paul builds from you and Gio.
Thank you so much my friend. I'm also looking forward to the LP and he Tele is shaping up to be a really special guitar!! I am so ready for 2024. I've got plans for at least 3 new original models this year!! I'm trying to transition into an actual guitar builder this year! I need to sell a few to get some new tools and to keep my shop supplies😃 I'm excited about it and I'm glad you're on the journey with me!! Happy New Year!!✌️&🤍
Happy new year and a happy anniversary to you and Mrs SweetTee
Thank you brother. Happy New Year to you!!✌️&🤍
Great start on this build Todd. Congrats on 30 years too! That's not an easy journey to make in the world today. Lets hope you make it to the 75th as my great Grand Parents managed to do or at least a valiant attempt on that record. Happy New year and I hope you have even more success than the last few the world has been through.
Thank you so much my brother. I really appreciate all of your support over these past few years! Happy New Year to you my friend!✌️&🤍
75?!! holy smoke! that is awesome.
Happy Anniversary and New Year! my Southern brother - Cheers from Canada
Thank you my Northern brother!! Happy New Year to you as well!! ✌️&🤍
Happy new year Todd and happy anniversary to you both ✌️
Thank you brother. It is appreciated and Happy New Year to you as well!!✌️&🤍
Gonna be awesome.
I certainly hope so!! Happy New Year and thank you so much!!✌️&🤍
Happy New Year, and Happy Anniversary, brother!!! That neck and body look absolutely clean and will look amazing together. I can't wait to see that fretboard start jumping off the neck under the finish!
Thanks brother. Happy New Year to you as well. This should be a nice Tele brother. I can't wait to see it either!!✌️🤍
Happy anniversary brother! Great episode! I like the wood choices for the neck. Really looking forward yo seeing the fretboard finish with the epoxy. I’ve got a maple fretboard coming up that I would like to try that on.
Thank you brother and Happy New Year to you!! I really liked the CA glue finish on the Astrolabe Fretboard but I am slightly concerned about how far it penetrates and about the longevity. This epoxy I got seems to be just the right product to keep me from spray finishing maple or any softer wood Fretboards. I don't like a lacquered Fretboard and this seems like a good alternative. We shall see!!✌️&🤍
Happy Anniversary and New Year, Todd! May 2024 bring your dreams closer to fruition! Looks like another killer build!
Thank you so much brother and Happy New Year to you as well. I'm so excited to get this build going!! It should be a really nice guitar!!✌️🤍
From that Santa tool haul, it seems Todd was a very good boy this year!
Happy new year and anniversary 🥳
I'm always pretty good😬 Happy New Year brother. I really want to thank you for all the help and the support. ✌️🤍

@@PaulCooksStuff and that is why I thank you!! It's me speaking for the almighty algorithm😂😂
Happy anniversary brother
Thank you brother. I really appreciate it and thank you so much for the help and the introduction to the products!!✌️&🤍
Awesome work! I'm looking forward to see that penetrating epoxy, I have a spalted top I think might need something similar.
Stay tuned. I've heard great things about that epoxy. We shall see! Thank you so much for the comment and the view! Happy New Year! Peace & Love
I think you will soon wonder how you managed without that vise. It without a doubt is my favorite and most used tool.
I'm.already wondering😂 I should have gotten one a while ago!! I can see it fast becoming a widely used tool in the shop. ✌️&🤍
Happy new year Todd and happy anniversary to both of you
Thanks brother. Happy New Year to you and yours as well. ✌️&🤍
Happy New Year and anniversary to you and your wife. That maple fretboard is going to be stunning. Looking forward to your next video. Have you considered the electronics yet? Perhaps an active setup with EMG or Fishman would be nice. Peace and love my friend.
Thank you Cliff. I'm going for vintage Tele tone on this one. I've gotten a set of Kluson Icon standard Tele pickups and a Bill Lawrence T2 Tele bridge paired with another Icon neck pickup. I will use active electronics on a build eventually but I think I'll save that for a more modern one. I'm really a big fan of passive pickups. They just have something I find lacking in tbe actives I've played including the Fluence. I would use a set of those on a guitar I knew was going to be heavily processed but for the standard stuff and especially a vintage tone, I'll stick with the passive brother. Thank you so the input and for the comment. Happy New Year to you my friend!✌️🤍
I totally get the passive route and understand your reasoning. The Bill Lawrence pickups are great. The lightweight Poplar body appeals to me as well.
The guitar is coming along nicely Todd. Both Happy New Year and Happy Anniversary to you and your wife. Hope this new year brings you both much happiness, health and prosperity.
Thank you brother, Happy New Year to you as well ans I hope 2024 is awesome for you! Peace & Love
Happy Anniversary Todd!
this is going to be a great looking guitar. i can't wait to see how the penetrating resin turns out on that fretboard. great wood choices too. so, help me out here, my stroke brain can't always remember everything, is Gio doing this Telecaster too? he really going to have to step up to keep up with this beauty. we know he will of course. again, glad to hear you made another year with your lovely wife.
sending a package today. i'll let you know a tracking number or whatever when my lovely wife gets back from her errands.
Thank you brother. Yes, he's doing a Tele too and then we're both doing the LP together as well. I can't wait. I really appreciate you sending me the Fretboard brother. Happy New Year!!✌️&🤍
I’m curious.
You said that the neck blank wasn’t square. Ok.
So, how did you compensate for that when you you came to cut the fret slots?
Hope you guys had a great anniversary, and it goes almost without saying that @beth McKellar and I send you fond and very best wishes for the forthcoming year. P&L!
The neck blank isnt square because of the tapered center, but I slotted the fretboard separately and using one squared edge of it in my fret slotting jig. As long as I observe the center lines on the neck and the fretboard, the fret slots will line up. I also check to make sure they are right with my protractor! Peace & Love
Happy Anniversary Todd & your support wonderful wife 🎉
What truss rod you using? Are all your templates & guides from Nomad?
Can’t wait to see final product!! Suspense is killing me 😢
Hey brother. I ordered the truss rods from Guyker on Amazon but I usually get the full wrapped ones from Philadelphia Luthier Tools and Supplies. The Guykers are really nice but they only come in one length 440mm I sometimes like to use a little longer one! All my templates come from Maximum Guitar Works in Colorado. They are the best templates I've ever seen man!! Thank you for the comment, the view and the kind words. Happy New Year to you!!✌️&🤍
Great start. How did you create the taper once you’d measured it out?
Thank you brother. I rough cut it on the bandsaw to within 2mm of the final size. Then I attached the tapered piece to a wider board with Super glue and masking tape and ran it across my jointer! I ended up a little less than 15mm on the heel end but it's close!! I hope that answers your question. I think I will use a No.7 plane for the next go on that!! Happy New Year to you!!✌️&🤍
I really like the thought of using a hand plane for the taper. I think it will give me more control. I've got my jointer set up so it only takes about .25mm each pass but on something heavily figured it sometimes causes me tear out and I think the hand plane will do a better job on that level!
Cheers
@@SweetTGuitars
I was thinking about thicknessing a 15mm strip then using a small wedge to raise one end by 5mm then pass it through my thicknesser @@SweetTGuitars
@@ghosthawk65 that would work too I think, you'll just need to make sure it's supported the full length but I'm sure you knew that!!
