Be careful with the coins thing. I know why they put that “cover” on it. Before the cover was put there, I was able to dump my coins in it. Unfortunately, it kept jamming because I had like 25+ pennies. The cover is there to slow you down, so you don’t jam the thing and take even longer to finish, and also not to bother the employees with more issues than they already have to deal with.

But that takes all the fun out of it! When I was a kid, I saw the whole "using and receiving" coins thing as cool and fascinating cause we rarely used it.
I gotta give it to Walmart on their self checkout machines. They are by far the best in my area. The rest of them talk too much and demand the item be on the bagging area or you have to press “skip bagging”! I did this as was shown here! Put in about 10 pennies and 4 dimes only to have it come back out in the tray and on the floor 👺 then I put in 9 one dollar bills and it came back out on the floor! What great advice here
did you know walmart employees aren’t “checkout associates” they’re actually just “front end” associates. so what happens when you use the self checkout more and they put in more self checkouts, walmart needs more employees to support the self checkout, and the current employees go to OGP or Customer Center, two better paying jobs. from, a walmart associate

Well, they could just bring back all the cashiers and raise all the prices. I’d prefer the lower prices and just to check myself out, lol. I feel more competent to do it than some of the people they hire anyway.
@@LisaLane711 I must have missed something, prices are higher today than when they had fully staffed cashiers. The cost savings gets passed on to the top not us. Top brass makes million dollar bonuses on top of already high salaries. Taking away jobs was never to benefit us the consumer, that idea was just savy marketing to sell us on accepting self checkouts as the new normal.
The point of self check out at any store is for those who prefer to be in and out instead of waiting in line. It has nothing to do with being paid to be your cashier. Btw, the higher prices we're paying are due to inflation. Added to a decline in truckers on the road making deliveries of goods, on top of the ports being backed up and hauling containers out for delivery. For the stores who are receiving goods, some are getting late deliveries or are suffering missed deliveries. All of this unfortunately is passed on to the consumer.
Since we live in a capitalist system, unfortunately, our society is greedy and is only looking to line its own pockets with millions of dollars 💸. Yet so many Americans complain (or have a fear of) about socialism. Not realizing we already have a capitalistic and socialist economic-financial system in place.
I consider this a favor to us customers. I’d rather be my own cashier. Nowadays, automated registers display more professionalism and common courtesy than human cashiers. Not to mention the curbside pick-up crews who take forever to load groceries on a vehicle, throwing items in the trunk like they mad at you for shopping there. I can’t wait to have automated curbside pick-up too. Hopefully 🤞 they accept both cash and card.

I kind of like self checkout, unlike with cashiers, with self checkout, no one is gonna stare you down or get mad at you when having have to transfer money over to your checking account. You can also do multiple transactions like if you wanted to charge half of your groceries on one card and half on another.
@@MicrowaveBakedPotato yeah introverts dream I feel you. But it’s totally just putting the work on customers bagging everything and even scanning it all. It’s not a lot of work and I’m definitely not complaining. But it’s totally weird if you think about it.
Thank you for sharing!!
Uh, what issues are they dealing with? Can't be customer service!
There are never any employees there to help you & its getting so you have only self checkout no to to check you out at regular register!!!!!
Do not put your coins in like that, if even a little piece of lint or paper from your pocket gets stuck in there it could cause it to throw a code, aka, redlight
I used to work at Walmart and the only thing worse that money issues at self check out was having to go unjam items like bb's earrings and other debris from the coinstar.
Everybody knows that I need the machine to give me money not take money
Life hack just wait until they not looking walk out 😅😂 self checked out 😊
Just tried that and the machine got angry and threw my cash on the ground 😂

Frickin tiny little folds in the corner or something stupid.. I could oy imagine putting several in at a time. Spit only part of it back out at yea but not the correct amount. Bill slot Jams up just after it eats the dollars but hasn't swallowed it all yet n machine hasn't read or counted amount yet, gets sick on stupid and freezes up, now waiting on one of the 20 employees standing around holding the floor down haveing a laughing gossip party 10 feet away and but paying any attention.
I literally had 4 workers standing behind me doing absolutely nothing but chatting n giggling up up haveing a happy oh time couldn't get a works in edge wise for then to find the damn machine that suddenly decided on the middle of scanning my stuff and employee was required to log in.. we the hell that was supposed to mean.... Smh. Walmarts gone to shit in this town. Idk about anywhere else.
You know inflation is bad when you have to put in $19.65 before you even start scanning your groceries
I don’t work at Walmart so the employees can take my money.
Lazy dipstick
Don’t do this your bills will get stuck and coins can jam the machine and then you will be waiting for Walmart employees….. we all know how customer friendly they can be 😂😂😂😂
But that takes all the fun out of it! When I was a kid, I saw the whole "using and receiving" coins thing as cool and fascinating cause we rarely used it.
Thank you! I can’t wait to rush to Walmart and give them some money.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I gotta give it to Walmart on their self checkout machines. They are by far the best in my area. The rest of them talk too much and demand the item be on the bagging area or you have to press “skip bagging”! I just want to checkout and be gone not suffer a forced interaction with a talkative demanding machine!

True. Albertsons/Kroger/Ralphs machines are insufferable
Well you are right about that.

I did this as was shown here! Put in about 10 pennies and 4 dimes only to have it come back out in the tray and on the floor 👺 then I put in 9 one dollar bills and it came back out on the floor! What great advice here

I never use the self checkout. I like talking to live people and supporting their jobs
did you know walmart employees aren’t “checkout associates” they’re actually just “front end” associates. so what happens when you use the self checkout more and they put in more self checkouts, walmart needs more employees to support the self checkout, and the current employees go to OGP or Customer Center, two better paying jobs. from, a walmart associate

Dont do that. I've worked multiple retail locations all using self checkouts, and the biggest problem they all have is paper jams. Last thing you want is to wait 20 minutes for a manager to finish what they are doing and come help. And believe me, they don't drop what they are doing to come help, they tell us its gonna be a minute over the phone.
Do they even let anyone pay cash at self checkout anymore? The ones by my house pretty much discriminate against cash. Self checkout is empty but you'll have to spend 15 minutes in line at a cashier if you're using cash

My fastest way out is with Walmart + scan and pay. It would be even faster if I didn’t have to wait in line to scan my QR code at the register. It’s still fast! I already have all my stuff bagged up as I shop. Love it!
Sam’s Club you can just scan and literally go to your car. The greeter at the door scans your QR code.

That just started when they updated their machines, it hasn’t always been like this.
That’s why you shuffle through your cash under the camera at self checkout so that it shows exactly how much you put in the machine when you add all the cash at once.
I put the money right in front of my face, before depositing it, because I have tried waving it, shuffling it, and nothing, so now I just put it right in between my eyebrows, since clearly the camera is showing me that it's capturing my face.
Or you could just put the bills in one by one like a normal person.
