Welcome to join the Diversity Book Bingo! 💜 In the description, you'll find a link to Part Two with my examples from 2024, as well as some extra resources and downloads! I also set up a Storygraph Challenge that you are welcome to join, that too is linked in the description. Let me know if you have any questions! 🎉😊
Oh my goodness, I LOVE this!!! I will definitely check out the google doc. I love these prompts and I love the reminder to intentionally read diversely.
Thank you! 😁 I need the reminder! I made a challenge on Storygraph as well, if you use that! The Bingo board is enough of course, but it's a good way to note some options 😊
What an amazing challenge! Though I must admit it made my head spin listening to this, lol! I'm sure I can figure it out and accomplish a few prompts at least!
@@sueysbookbanter Haha sorry! 😄 I think you’ll get the hang of it! There’s a Part Two linked in the description with examples, if that helps. And you can always ask of course. As long as it inspires you to read diversely, you’re good! 😄
Oh I'm so glad you like it! I hope it helps you and me both! 😄 I tend to think I read more diversely than I actually do, so this will hold me accountable! You're welcome to join or check out the Storygraph challenge (added as an afterthought!) if you ever need some inspiration!
Oh yay! Thanks for joining and for letting me know someone has printed the bingo card! 😄 That made it all worth it! 😊 I can't wait to see what books you and whoever else add!
ellen!! this is amazing!! going to print out the challenge and add to my reading journal for next year 🎉 this was so well put together & im looking forward to diversifying my reading in 2025 💃🏽
Count me in! This will work well with my read around the world challenge 😊 I love these prompts- lots of wiggle room to find a great book! I already have an idea of some books I want to read 👀 It''ll be nice to be more intentional with what I read so thank you for putting this together!
Awesome! 😊 Yes wiggle room is key! 😄 I can’t wait to see what everyone will read, myself included haha, there are so many great options. I put a challenge up on storygraph as well, if you use that, a bit of an afterthought so I didn’t mention it in the video, but it’s there if you want it 😊
Wonderful bingo board and challenge! Subscribed. For the other lists and challenges categories, along with queer representation, I suggest checking out the Queer Lit Read-a-Thon videos on the channel perpetualpages. It's also Banned Books month here in the U.S. in January, so a title from a banned books list could probably check a category or two. I'm looking forward to the April 2025 release of an anthology of short works by disabled folks, "Owning It: Tales from Our Disabled Childhoods," featuring Jen Campbell, James Catchpole, Polly Atkins, Imani Barbarian, and many more.
Thank you! I’ve heard about that channel, didn’t realize there was a readathon, but I’ll check it out, thanks! The anthology you mentioned sounds interesting as well. I made a challenge on Storygraph as well, you’re welcome to join as well of course, I’ll make a note of it on there. I’ve found so many interesting titles looking for books for this challenge. Thanks for your recs!
What an interesting project! You did such a good job putting this together. So many amazing prompts. I’m definitely going to try to utilise some of these prompts next year ❤
okay this might be a challenge i can ACTUALLY do!! Thank you for being a bit more lax with the rules/guidelines because it makes it less intimidating to join in!! This is such a well-devised idea too, can't wait to see how your book bingo journey goes! 🥰
@@love.lauren... Of course you can! 😄 It’s completely up to you, my goal is just to do a little better than I did this year and keep it a bit more top of mind. Romance and mangas will count too, as long as there is some diversity in there! 😄 And I know you read other things too of course. I’m excited too! 😄 Thank you for the support!
I love this!! I was thinking about books to read to diversify my reading in 2025 as I said for goals for 2025!! This game is PERFECT for me. I'm definitely going to try to follow the rules & black out the board for the whole 2025. But also thank you for making this the whole year so I can slowly learn about the books I would enjoy 🥰 Thank you for also breaking it down to make it a little bit easier for me!! As I'm watching the video, I'm already thinking about the books that might fit for 2025! I might try to put together for the 2024 as well just to see how I did 🫢
Yay! Happy to help! 😄 I'm going for blackout too. Haha yes the short challenges are too hard for me, I don't think or read fast enough 😂 we need some wiggle room! And you can add 10 books one month and 0 the next, if that's how it plays out. Let me know if you have any questions, it's clear in my head but my bf was pretty confused for a while, so I'm happy to clarify if anything is fuzzy 😊
@@ellenmadebookclub I think it was super clear and to the point! The break down of individual category and whatnot helped too. But the example of 2024 is where it really shined!
Love this so much!! You did a great job putting the prompts, graphics, and bingo board together, I think it has a great mix of topics and love that the emphasis is on diversity of all types. Great job! I’m excited to participate and diversify my reading as well! 😊
Sorry I missed the live announcement; I was driving and didn't get home in time. This is such a great idea! Terrific job putting this all together, Ellen.
this sounds so fun! and would definitely help me to read more diverse too. I’m immediately wondering if I can include the prompts into my own tbr game… need some thinking 🤔 😂
Hi Ellen, what a smart challenge, I will give it a try! Also, I tried to tag you on a booktag a couple of weeks ago but your channel wasn't highlighting, I had the same problem last week, but luckily Pat came to the rescue and helped me out with my settings.. I tagged you now again, but you may have already done the Used Bookstore Tag?
@@Uncommon_Reader Hi Daniela! Thank you, I would love for you to join in! 😊 Yes Pat said she could tag me, so I changed my settings and let her know how to do it, because she said it was the same for someone else, so I guess that was you! 😄 I haven’t done that tag, I think it’s on my list of tags to catch up with, I’ll check it out!
@@ellenmadebookclub Yes, that was me. I had my mention settings correct when looking at them from my computer but when I opened the UA-cam APP on my phone they were set on OFF so I changed that, but I was surprised as I assumed they would be somehow synched. Glad I could re-tag you, and that tag is not time sensitive so take your time! Going to sign up for the challenge and also re-watch the video and take notes on all the rules 😊It suits me well as next year I was anyway planning to read new authors, and 25 books is not too big of a challenge, so... thank you!
@@Uncommon_Reader Yes, she said! That was so weird, of course they should be synced. I blame it on the UA-cam Christmas Ghosts! 😄 Perfect! Yes and the minimum is 6, and the rest is up to you. I look forward to seeing what books you will read!
Ellen, I am not familiar with TheStoryGraph... do I need to track my reads through that platform or could I simply download the board you created and track my progress on it? Thanks!
