I Made an RPG. FromSoftware old game Kings Field 2 fan remake/remastered. King's Field 2 Remade on Unreal Engine 5
~ This is a fan project in which I tried to completely recreate the first location and all the gameplay of King's Field (USA) or King's Field 2 (Japan). All assets are taken from the original. ~

I love King's Field series. They focused on exploration and didn't hide it behind over the top difficulty. Would love to play KF 2 & 3 once again.
kinda crazy, i played every kings field game, beat them all. haven't thought about them in years, and i randomly get the urge to play it. Now to find out this has just come out is nuts.

The colored lighting looks really good. It maintains the spirit of the original to a large degree, I think. It's like as if it had received a PC port around the time of Quake II in its OpenGL form.

This game represents a truly magical time in my life. Attempting to play through this for the first time was an experience unlike anything before or since. Other games have done what this game did since then; none have done it quite as well.
Yeah, my favorite game series. I got so many emotions from playing through it!
Hopefully Fromsoft makes a modern KF game, since Miyazaki said he wants to go in different directions than just Souls style games

I have wondered if someone could remake the PS1 KF games using UE for years. Myself not having the skills to do such a thing,I just sat and dreamed. While I am a much bigger fan of KF3J and would love to see it get the same treatment one day,this is more than enough to make me smile big time. Definitely keeping an eye on this and subbing for any further videos on it.

I’m going to check this out! KF2 is my favorite game of all time! Also, I have a suggestion/request, please. Perhaps I am mistaken but I thought I saw blood splashing around during the combat video clips. I’m an Iraq war veteran who saw gore and violence day in, day out for a year. I would really like to enjoy my fantasy adventure without excessive bloodshed and graphic violence. A content filter to take out the blood splashes would allow me to play the game, thank you for considering the accessibility of your players 🙂
Thanks a lot! Probably with the second patch such a setting will appear. At the moment, "blood" in the game comes in the form of sprites when you hit an enemy. But nothing can be done about dismemberment - this is mechanics and it affects a lot.
Thanks for the blood filter at least, that’s something. Depending on how gruesome the other feature you mentioned is, I might be out, unfortunately. A lot of King’s Field tribute games all have a lot of blood & gore and KF on PS1 didn’t have that, just polygons that withered and disappeared. It was more about the exploration & adventure and less about brutal spectacle, which seems to be a modern gaming taste. Oh well. Anyways, thanks for hearing me out, peace m8

This is awesome. But I do have a particular critique. The mood has been altered from the original due to the graphics being overhauled. I would love the option for less draw distance, more fog to not see what is coming, and a good CRT Filter implementation. Positives, it's smooth as butter and looks like it has mouse support. I noticed all the newer details like certain enemies missing body parts upon attacks which shows damage over time instead of a lifebar which is a phenomenal change. The skeletons using these new textures are super cool. Love that change. I'll be playing the living heck out of this, keep up the good work and god speed.

Personally my biggest issue has been that rhe swing animation has only been a downward slash.
And that was kept. You dangerous, mute, lunatic. I'm 39 now. I can finally accept that as part of the charm, even if it drives me nuts.

This is the first King's Field. But I do want to make a request of your team to remake the 2nd and 3rd game of King's Field.

Is there a legit site where I can download this one? I played this first King's Field game back in the day and I loved it. But your creation just made this game better!

i was a bit skeptical but im glad i was wrong. The game looks very good at 4k with ducktation the thing is your remake improves the original by a lot. its way more snappy. idk if its a bug but if you hold the run button it has infinite stamina please dont patch it also the camera feels great with a controller
