Also the added scene where Usagi reunites with her Mom and family: it's also important because in the manga it was unclear if the cats died or not, because we never see them again. This scene makes it clear that they are also alive and well
Thanks for making these. Its sad to see it go and Sailor Moon end again. But, Sailor Moon is awesome! And I think that if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have the imagination I have. I can just carry her along in my heart as courage and light like a star. I like all three versions: manga, 90s anime, and Crystal. Each brings something special to the table imo
@alexcal24 Oh, ye! I agree. I forgot to mention it in the post up there, but I like it to. Watched it about two or three years ago. Liked the concept of Evil Sailor Moon more than anything King Beryl offered. XD
26:15 No she doesn’t know what’s happening because she did NOT go through it. The timeline of neo queen serenity is different from the timeline of sailor moon, that’s why the last time sailor moon had to come to save her (if neo queen serenity had known that the black moon would cause that much trouble, she would have defeated wiseman for good, not just exiled him). In her timeline, her daughter from the future (Chibiusa) did not come asking for help and things didn’t happen like what we saw in arc 2. We just know that after all she had become neo queen serenity, what has happened until that point we did not know because it didn’t happen the way it did in Sailor Moon timeline.
@@mooncover7359 yes but I honestly think NQS wouldn't kill off Wiseman anyway, cos he was a human originally and King Endymion says that the reason they only banished him was because he is a human so Neo Queen Serenity can't just kill him. (tho it's not like killing bothered Usagi that much against the Ayakashi Sisters who were also human, or the other members of the black moon clan)
Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. This is clearly new territory for Neo Queen Serenity. The reason she seems confused is because _she_ didn't face Galaxia in _her_ youth and has no idea what will happen. We know this because look at the future Sailor Scouts! They do NOT have Eternal Sailor fuku on. They are still in their Super Sailor forms. This suggests that _something_ happened in OUR Sailor Moon's timeline that made her timeline deviate from the future of _this_ Neo Queen Serenity. I feel like OUR Usagi and _her_ Scouts will ultimately end up being more powerful than Rini's timeline considering those future Scouts haven't even attained their Eternal forms yet. 😕
@@Rose_Bride If I recall correctly in the Manga they didn't even have the super version of the sailor outfits. It was their og outfits. Not a 100% on that but I'm above 70% sure... @@animehuntress9018 But I'm still curious as to why Cosmos/ChibiChibi had to come back? Isn't she basically just the most powerful version of Usagi? Like I understand that she's a coward (or thinks she is) but she's more powerful then Eternal Sailor Moon? Or am I wrong about ChibiChibi?
loved your entire series review! Galaxia's hair: the author confirmed that all the rolls are in fact her hair. I'm so happy you enjoyed Cosmos. I was so glad they ironed out the visual and musical issues of the first three seasons and ended the franchise with my personal favorite arc done spectacularly. First decade of Crystal had me SCARED lmao
That's why Toei/DIC didn't want to DUB Sailor stars at all and we had to wait UNTIL VIZ MEDIA dubbed it in 2019 which was still like 25+ YEARS after Japan already finished it back in 1995 to 1996.
Chibiusa talking to Rei and her grandpa is definitely a homage to the classic anime where it is established that Rei and Chibiusa are very close, as Usagi says "they get along so well because they are both so mean" it's in the infamous episode where Chibiusa befriends a dinosaur in case you were wondering
Oh? I thought it was a homage to that one episode where Chibiusa went back to 20th century Tokyo once again for training and she told everyone that "Mars from the future" always trashing Neo-Queen Serenity 😂 (I believe it's episode 104?) I Didn't notice that bit because I always skip that one particular episode in R
@@Starseawhale I love that scene, it's so funny, especially with the relevation that NQS not being able to write kanjis only hiragana (she still tried as Mina points out there are traces of her trying to write it and being erased)
About that Dino Episode its the ONLY Episode NOT in the VIZ Media redub since it doesn't show up in the Sailor Moon R DVD boxed set at all and its not on the Blue Ray disc version of the VIZ Media Sailor Moon R season either so that Dino episode is only watchable online for the VIZ media version.
I enjoyed the 90's "Sailor Stars," but the heavy lack of like the entire 2nd half of the story while having time for filler we didn't really need in the last season (other than develop the starlights, and admittingly some fun for the villains) bogged it down heavily to me. That and rather than just going full war-zone like the Cosmos adaptation does, we were just doing more monsters of the days and it was tired, like the same concepts getting used for like the third time in many episodes. Darker colored winged Galaxia after being beaten down was probably the coolest scene in the 90's version. Learning it was so watered down as if they were rushing to finish the show or something always had it on the bottom of the season list. I read the manga version in like 2010 and was like "can we please get this animated in full" one day and then Crystal happened. It took forever, but we finally got it. Seeing this film was quite honestly the most pleasing thing sailor moon and anime history for me since the original show was airing and they released dvd sets of mostly everything besides Stars (since it wasn't USA dubbed). Now that we have both versions, enjoying everything from every season's hilights and flaws just makes it the more better. My only real wish would be Codename: Sailor V adaptation, or an actual sequel of Chibi Moon and the Asteriod Senshi in the future, and Cosmos actually changing Chaos trajectory as she states basically never having bothered to really figure out what she wanted (something sailor moon did figure out with Galaxia). I kind of like not knowing whom she is, because it can be 1 million years ahead, like not chibi-usa's daughter or even her daughter's daughter, I see her as the peak in power of a sailor guardian of good who gave up trying to stop the absolute evil which again, Sailor Moon does not. The whole entire Cosmos story of Stars and being done so well was pretty much peak Sailor Moon, and I LOVED Eternal (dead moon and black moon were always my favorites).
When i was working on this video. I havent watched Sailor Stars in years. I forgot how much of assholes the starlights were to usagi. lol. Well obviously outside of Seiya.
The adaptation of Stars arc from the manga was long overdue. I was filled with joy that it was being animated at all. The stars manga is a better arc than the 90s anime stars. The wedding scene was gorgeus especially the last scene of usagi and sailor moon with Mamoru's word. This movie was the last piece for me because I admire sailor moon as a hero. Enjoyed your analysis and thoughts ty for your content
Usagi returning home and reuniting with her family was moving, especially the part where Luna jumps into Usagi's arms and welcoming her actually made me tear.🤧
I would’ve felt the same way with Linda Ballantyne. And since Cosmos voice is supposed to be mature and Linda’s is by far the most nature sounding voice.
This arc really should have been in episodic format. It was already rushed in the manga so when you transfer it to the screen in the form of movie it gets even more rushed. It’s such a shame because the story of this arc is the best if we got more time to flesh it out with each episode. At least the movie was not that bad, it’s just not great either.
The added scene where Usagi reunites with her Mom and family:I for one actually liked that the manga left this out - that it was more of a sour happy ending. Also, it kind of also made more sense that her family wasn't pressent to her and Mamoru's wedding. I liked the idear of Usagi waking up in Crystal Tokyo. That her life as a ruler began after her battle with Caos.
My head-canon (cause there's sadly no evidence for or against it) is that the Neo Tokyo that Chibiusa is from is an alternate timeline from the one we are seeing playout in Usagi's timeline. Still doesn't explain why Chibiusa starts to fade in moments when Usagi and Mamoru are distant, but I think that's just the creators having no clue how the timeline works either.
I was not ready to see what happened to Mamoru when I saw the movie, because that was not shown in the anime. Not even mentioned until far later either! I was traumatized!
Well, I don't know if the ending part is true. Usagi's parents and brother are said to be dead in the manga but it shows them alive and well on the movie.
I think the reason why Naoko named the chapters "stars 1" or "stars 2" because she was rushing to do this last arc and I'm assuming she couldn't be bothered to name them properly. Another thing about that added scene at end of the second movie. It Pretty much confirms the moon cats like Luna are still alive. In the manga, you don't know what happened to them and you don't even see them in the wedding. I hope they'll do a Sailor V anime 😢
Definitely a missed opportunity to have bring back an original voice actor from the DiC/Cwi dub to voice Sailor Cosmos, also having Moon Pride be in the ending credits to movie part 2
*WARNING LONG READ* You're comment on Usagi's older self seems like you don't fully understood her so I just want to explain😊 You're so mean lol😭😅 Neo Queen Serenity/Sailor Cosmos isn't useless. In season 2 she was being benevolent sparing Death Phantom's life and punishing him instead. Centuries of peace made her soft hearted her younger self would've killed him. This Parallels Queen Serenity and Nehelenia. QS could've and should've killed her but decided to punish her instead and she came back to be a pain, it was peaceful in those times too. Sailor Cosmos have been fighting Sailor Chaos in the future for eons not a few minutes, months or years, we are talking about millennias before she broke. She's the one losing everything. Do you not think she will get emotionally and mentally exhausted? Both Cosmos and Chaos is truly immortal. When she defeats Chaos you do realise everything will come back to this point right? They're destined to fight for eternity in a cycle of death and rebirth. Do you know how tragic and traumatizing that fate is? 😭 She knows and wonders "Why fight? What was I fighting so hard for in the past?" Usagi is a person who constantly hype herself up in her mind. How long would those self encouraging words would work in the face of eternal loneliness and fighting before it becomes wind? When we get older life often becomes bleak. We realise the hard truth, the unfairness, the corruption of the world. Life beat us down, spit in our faces that it kills the innocent, hopeful part of us, we forgotten the part of us that never gives up and is determined, confident everything will be alright and believe it with our whole heart. At times we have to look back at our past innocent, carefree, hopeful selves to find, to ignite that which we have lost.
Oh I understand all of it. It's also just a point in the story she keeps making. Technically neo queen serenity didn't call her. But chibiusa did. So pass on that one. It's just funny how it's now twice future self is asking past self for help 🤣
@GodFireBreakdowns It's once she asked her past self for help not twice. Diana said it, if the situation was truly dire she would intervene. It's due to her helping Usagi twice on Nemesis and with Black Lady in the palace that Usagi even made it that far in the battle against the Black Moon. That shows that everyone would've screwed way before Pluto even get the chance to help. Usagi, the girls and even King Endymon thought Death Phantom was actually physically there with them crushing the palace while she knew immediately it was an illusion and they were wasting energy. No shade to Usagi and the girls they were inexperienced, side eye to the King tho.
@@alicepie3660 I honestly think Queen Serenity was an asshole against Nehalennia 😅 like I wouldn't exactly call sealing someone away into a mirror for eternity for appearing uninvited to the party peaceful 😅 I honestly think Nehalennia was justified in cursing the Silver Millenium. What was her sin? Being a spawn of chaos? They pretty much assumed her being evil and treated her as such without any hesitation. And what she said turned out to be true tbh, Chaos really is related to Queen Serenity as Usagi herself finds out later when she visits the galaxy cauldron. Not gonna lie it seems like Queen Serenity is a complete tyrant. Having child soliders and forcing the outer senshi to live alone on desolate planets, even giving Pluto powers that kills her if she uses them, while she was living a luxorious life on the moon with her precious daughter. I don't feel sorry for her fall at all, she had it coming and Usagi created a better Kingdom than her mom. And even the fact that Nehalennia's curse worked or not can be argues, as Neptune said it was fate. So again, what was her sin exactly as she couldn't even accomplish any evil? I am really glad they gave her redemption in the 90s anime, even tho I think she is was less deserving of redemption there, because they changed her backstory, and the changes they made somehow makes her seem more evil, eating the dream mirrors of her own servants? That's horrific 😅
Unpopular Opinion: It would have been nice to see the final battle with Sailor Moon was with Cosmos from stopping the destruction of the Cauldron instead of just straight up embracing Chaos right away. It could have been an intense emotional battle that would end with Sailor Moon’s embracement over Cosmo’s idea of ending it all. But instead we just get an “oh well I guess if Galaxia says another world could be born and Sailor Moon says we have to keep going this way I should too.” like you mean to tell me she travelled thousands of years to stop an unending war only to be told “it will always be fine as long as our stars keep shining” and accept it? It was always disappointing how she didn’t really do anything in both versions when she seems so powerful and interesting. It would have made more sense to go back to just stop her and have that final conflict before the final choice to keep the cauldron because all of that suffering was enough for her to go back to the past. I agree 100% it’s just weird to go back ask for her help as this powerful entity only then just instantly accept her fate and be exposition. Feel free to disagree, I just always felt Cosmos could have been developed so much more.
Gosh This Movie Was So Fantastic Cosmos will always be my all time favorite it’s tied with Crystal Season 3 as my favorite’s in the franchise I loved this movie from beginning to end great way to end the Reboot Era of SM :D👍
Concerning Seiyas English VA, something that might be a more recognizable role for Melissa for people is that she's VERY well known for playing Clementine in Telltale's The Walking Dead games
Also, I love Cosmos but ngl I wish they could have covered the Three Lights concert song in English like they did in the Viz dub of Stars. Especially since Melissa, Erika, and Sarah actually do have good singing voices.
I think this is a great ending to the Cosmos. & I’m happy that the Guardians got their Star Seeds Back & they returned back to normality & evil never saw the light of day.
To explain, it seems there are 3 timelines all happening actively the moment Sailor Moon defeats Beryl. Usagi's present, Neo Queen Serenity's future, and Sailor Cosmos' future.
Sailor Cosmos returning as Chi-bi-chibi meant she failed to defeat Chaos, and Sailor Moon choosing her old life instead of re-incarnating is her becoming Sailor Cosmos😢… genius
I wodh this was a season then a movie i would have loved each character to get more screen time. 😢 i would have loved the Amazon quartet to have s transformation
I don't think Usagi/Sailor Moon becomes "useless" as Neo Queen Serenity or Sailor Cosmos. She clearly goes through long periods (centuries) of peaceful times and loses her senshi instincts that kept her on her toes when she fought Chaos' incarnations back-to-back.
I agree! They should have had an original VA from the original English dub to voice Sailor Cosmos. IMO Linda Ballantyne would have been perfect. She was amazing in those serious moments.
31:27 Wasn't this scene added because Eternal Sailor Moon got her wings? In the manga, after she gets hit with the galatica planet attack, doesn't she lose her wings and doesn't grow them back when she gets her new tiare? I remember after confronting Sailor Galaxia, she already attacks her with silver moon crystal power, therapy kiss.
Just a thing with Mercury and Jupiter's death, it wasn't clear in the manga, but to me it always seemed like Aluminum Siren used Mercury and Jupiter as a meat shield against Sailor Moon's attack and that's what kills them ultimately. I understand why they didn't did it like that it would be too dark.
Actually no they did follow the manga. When Sailor Moon was focusing her energy to cast the attack, Sailor Aluminum use her energy to obliterate Mercury and Jupiter, leaving Sailor Moon and the other sailors in shock.
@@mooncover7359yes but if you read the manga you know that the fight scenes are kind of messy and sometimes it's difficult to interpret what's going on. To me it seemed like Aluminum Siren pulls Mercury and Jupiter with her hair in front of her when Sailor Moon attacks, to defend herself from the attack. I don't know why your tone is so attacking, but I think my comment made it clear that was my own interpretation of the scene and cosmos decided to go with a different interpretation 😅 One of the reasons I chose to interpret it this way back when I first read the manga was because I felt like Aluminum Siren shouldn't be strong enough to kill Mercury and Jupiter like that, but them dying from a accidental blast from Sailor Moon who is the strongest solider in the galaxy made more sense to me
@@olivergaspar6729 oh no i was not attacking you 😅 I was just correcting you. Just to be clear so don’t feel bad at all. I agree that the fights in the manga is messy and hard to understand what’s going on at times. I remember as a child I always wished the fightings would be more intense and idk, more to see? Instead of just some panels where the character’s just posing and blast, the enemy is gone. Kinda underwhelming though it’s beautiful arts.
Kinda wish they they went that route(even if it's not exactly how the manga went)but they toned down all the deaths and even the bleak tone this arc has as a whole sadly 😒 especially seen in the way Sailor Kaykyuu's death was portrayed.
I never saw the point of Sailor Cosmos if I wanna be honest. Some fans explained that she's supposed to be the "Future Ultimate Sailor Moon", but she only appeared near the end of the manga and movie. If anything, it feels like she's more of a "Plot device" or whatever to make the manga and movie more "Interesting". I get it, but why though? She doesn't even fight, as Cosmos or even ChibiChibi "Moon". And the question of ChibiChibi being "Moon" is left unclear, at least to some fans. It got me thinking that Sailor Cosmos could've came from an alternate timeline that's different from the one ChibiUsa came from. And someone told me that the future Cosmos came from DOESN'T have ChibiUsa as the "Next Sailor Moon", because Sailor Moon becomes the "Ultimate Sailor Guardian". If that's true, then why would Sailor Cosmos still need her team if she's one of the most powerful guardians in the universe, and why bother having ChibiUsa train to be a Sailor Guardian if Neo Queen Serenity because an Ultimate Guardian? Again, I think Sailor Cosmos came from an alternate timeline. Kinda makes sense if you think about it. Also, not being a straight up hater against Sailor Cosmos, but why would she try and stop her past self from saving the world? That would've caused more chaos and destruction if anything if Sailor Chaos and the Star Cauldron were destroyed. No cauldron means no stars or guardians, and no more humans or living beings. If Cosmos had ultimately succeeded in making Sailor Moon change her decision, SHE would've be the "Sailor Saturn" and "Brought the Glaive down to end all", not Sailor Moon. If the Stars Arc ever had a remaster/reboot, I think rewriting Sailor Cosmos would be a start. For the time being, she just feels like a "Quitter and coward" who wants to end it all when she lost everything. That's NOT what Sailor Moon would've done, and she almost lost her loved ones in the final arc! Yes, she’s scared, she doesn’t want to fight, especially against other guardians, but she had to fight in order to protect her friends, Mamoru and future. Unlike Cosmos, Sailor Moon succeeded in stopping Chaos, even for a brief moment in time. Also, the fact that the Guardians and Mamoru were killed off so early in the arc is… again, I get it, but it feels off. I liked the idea of the guardians being taken down during the final encounter/battle against Sailor Galaxia, at least the nine guardians got to see Galaxia in the 90’s anime instead of being taken out by the Animates so soon. At least we would’ve seen the entirety of the gang trying to fight against Galaxia and Animates and falling during the final battle. And the Sailor Animates “killing off” the guardians by just using their attacks, and not with the bracelets, is… why? Wasn’t the bracelets used as a way to extract the Star Crystals from Sailor Guardians, aside being used to keep any guardians that had no Star Crystals from turning to dust? Look at the 90’s anime, at least they had the bracelets do what it was intended to do. Even the Golem Sailor Guardians used the bracelets to steal Sailor Kakayuu’s Star Crystal instead of just regular attacks, like how Aluminum Siren did. Not trying to be a nitpicker, but… I have some reasons for not putting Stars Arc high on the list of favorite Sailor Moon seasons/arcs, and Stars is somewhere between fifth and fourth. The Cosmos movie and manga arc had some inconsistencies of the stories and characters out of all of the seasons and arcs overall. The overall final fight between Sailor Moon and Chaos, reunion, Usagi reuniting with her family and Luna and the wedding scene more than makes up for the plot holes and inconsistencies though.
The whole point is, Sailor Cosmos and Chaos are constants. Thier fight is going to forever continue, so we can't blame Cosmos for eventually reaching a point where she thinks it's useless to keep fighting if Chaos has nothing to lose and thus will always try to ruin thier lived
Since this is English it would be nice if you used the English names for the caricatures. I'm 45 years old, and I have been watching since I was a child. I still have all the shows on VHS tapes.
These movies were definitely better animated and better paced than Eternal, altough I still feel like the pacing is way too fast, particularly in the first movie, the second one benefits from most of the runtime being focused on the final battles, so it doesn't feel as rushed. Thankfully, they decided to go with new animation and homages rather than direct tracing, Eternal had an animation issue in which, because they traced stuff from Crystal and the 90s show, the anatomy of the characters would vary wildly during stock footage, in Cosmos everything is done mostly from scratch and it works much better. I also like that they seem to have taken some cues from the designs and anatomy of Crystal, the lineart and coloring are much more pleasing this time around and the characters look a bit less childish in general.
"Kou" is actually their first names, they all go by their last names in civ form, and maybe also cause of Japanese naming culture. I think Naoko really didn't care enough to give new characters proper names at this point.
I actually have never finished this series. I only got up to when Mami died and that was it lol. But I'll maybe give it another shot now that you asked me to do something on that series.
Looks like a cool movie. Shame I can't watch it! Edit: Just based on this movie review, I think I prefer the OP anime. Of course, I am probably biased. Just a little.
34:45 I love this powerful scene is like what did Iron Man did in Avengers Endgame when he use the Infinity Stones to snap and said I am Iron Man disintegrate Thanos and his army sacrificing his life in the process now Sailor Moon does the same to she jump into the Galaxy Cauldron to use her attack with all of the sailor crystal of her friends to defeat Chaos once and for all now Sailor Moon says and I am Sailor Moon is just epic 10 out 10.
I've seen Sailor Moon Cosmos two parts films the other day on Netflix and while that I do like the up to date designs characters like the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon, Princess Kakyuu and the Shadow Galactica but I still don't like the ending of the second part film in fact I still prefer from the from the 90's Anime. I mean we never got to see the Sailor Starlights and Princess Kakyuu revive just like Sailor Moon and her friends at the end of the film plus it was never revealed if Artemis and Diana were revived just like Luna. I know the Japanese writer have worked so hard since this is the final Sailor Moon Crystal Series but they really haven't think things throught at all, I'm very sorry but this is my own honest opinion but I still prefer Sailor Moon Eternal two part films over Sailor Moon Cosmos two part films because at least there aren't too many characters killed un like this one.
Sailor Cosmos just gave an explanation that everyone was going back to their planets and returning back to their forms. So like sailor moon and them case. Returning to their human forms.
I like both endings, but the 90’s anime at least had the Usagi’s team actually encounter Sailor Galaxia and fall during the battle instead of taking them out one at a time early on. Would’ve liked it if Mamoru and ChibiUsa stayed in the season instead of being AWOL though, would’ve made the 90’s anime more… something, instead of just focusing on Seiya’s flirting with Usagi, Saturn missing until the final battle and the Outers vs Starlights moments.
parallel sailor moon is not within the same universe as the one we know. It is a parallel universe where there were no sailor guardians. they lived normal lives which is why chibiusa and hotaru go to the same school and why Usagi has more than one child. I am 99% certain on that as i don't know if anything has changed within the last few years.
I always have such a hard time saying that anime. Like I said i love the series and want a third season but whenever people ask me about it I say the gambling anime 🤣🤣🤣
I head cannoned that the ending with the wedding was a dream Usagi had in the Galaxy Cauldron, and that they're all dead. And that Sailor Cosmos is a reincarnation.
then how did chibimoon was born? Chibimoon was instrumental in creating the Holy Grail needed in the Pharaoh 90 battle. Usagi meeting Neo-Queen was also how she get heart Moon Spiral Heart Attack in the manga
How she meets the other princess is wrong, and Seiya NEVER kisses Usagi in the Manga. The whole Seiya/Usagi thing always felt like the Stars anime's influence. The quality of the animation dropped and while I don't mind some of the changes.... there are some I just don't like. Because of the changes the final bit kind of takes away from Galaxia and ChibiChibi too. Kind of felt like they wanted to go over the top but sacrificed the og story to do so.... which is surprising.
@@GodFireBreakdowns I always thought he kissed her cheek from how Usagi is touching her cheek. Never occurred to me it might be on the lips, gross. Girl just lost her fiancé and you kissing her on the lips? Yuck. Doesn't change anything else I've pointed out though.
I found this movie incredibly boring, bland and soulless, adapting the manga 1:1 to the screen only exposed its weakest points - no space for the characters to breath and grow (except of Usagi), events rushing one after another - but that's my issue with that whole remake series which in my opinion is botched af. though the original has its flaws, there is not one thing that the new version did better, and it's sad to watch the lifeless animation failing to bring out the light and style that the original was so incredibly rich with. seeing the remakes of Urusei Yatsura and now Ranma, I'm impressed with the quality of them. it's tragic that you can't say the same about such a legendary series as Sailor Moon, and even worse that this failed attempt means no one will give it another chance any time soon.
I also watched urusei yatsura the new version recently and I totally agree with you. Had Sailor Moon gotten the same treatment right from the beginning, it would have been much more successful and drawn more fans to the show. And episodic format is the way to go to flesh out the story. One thing I would add though is that the manga story is moving so fast because the author needed to move things fast for the anime to keep on. Even with fast pace like that the anime had so many fillers already, if the manga was slower then the anime would have to be dragged out even more. That’s why the author is pushed to keep the story going fast.
The secret is urusei and ranma are aimed at boys so execs actually cared about them and wanted to do them well. Pisses me the fuck off how badly shoujo and josei titles get treated
I love your little mistake by saying "Higurashi"-Shrine, which is from "Inuyasha" where Kagomes family lives. For me, Kagome and her past self Kikyo both have similarities to Sailor Mars/Rei (bow and arrow, being a Miko at a shrine/miko outfit)
* Hikawa Shrine
I see that you caught that glitch peer. You were referring to the Inuyasha Kagome shrine
Also the added scene where Usagi reunites with her Mom and family: it's also important because in the manga it was unclear if the cats died or not, because we never see them again. This scene makes it clear that they are also alive and well
Yes in the manga, they didn't show the cats but they are still alive since Luna and Artemis are still alive (and sleeping) at the 30th century
Check out PGSM too. A bit cheesy at times but a good reimagining of the Dark Kingdom Arc.
@alexcal24 Oh, ye! I agree. I forgot to mention it in the post up there, but I like it to. Watched it about two or three years ago.
Liked the concept of Evil Sailor Moon more than anything King Beryl offered. XD
Sailor Cosmos fullfilled my long long dream of seeing Sailor Heavy Metal Pappilion animated
Do you think we'll ever get any new sailor moon content? And with that I mean content that is not some kind of adaption.
I'm not sure to be honest. I hope so. But who knows.
And she had just about as much screen time as well.

We just know that after all she had become neo queen serenity, what has happened until that point we did not know because it didn’t happen the way it did in Sailor Moon timeline.
Is that it? Different timelines of sailor moon? Guess it is possible since the last chapter was a parallel story.
Thank you! Glad you liked my reviews! And thank you for the details on galaxy hair!
12:16 them being men is only a anime thing in the manga theyre always girls just dressed as boys
@@veghesther3204 I love the Dino episode. ❤
The scene of Rei and Minako saying they don’t need men reminds me of all the Reinako fanfics
That and those two are actually canonically dating based on the side story written by Naoko Takeuchi.
@abandonedfragmentofhope5415 I didn't know that, actually
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Yay I've been waiting for this one! I've loved your videos covering the Sailor Moon Crystal series!
Thank you! Glad you liked them!!!
i love how accurate this is and talked about the star seeds are the purest of heart and how we are not just our bodies
Usagi returning home and reuniting with her family was moving, especially the part where Luna jumps into Usagi's arms and welcoming her actually made me tear.🤧
agreed! a beautiful moment!
this movie was something we've been waiting for, and it did not disappoint us and to see this beautifully animated was so worth it.
I agree it was so good!
I would have *cried* if Terri Hawkes voice came outta Sailor Cosmos
I would’ve felt the same way with Linda Ballantyne. And since Cosmos voice is supposed to be mature and Linda’s is by far the most nature sounding voice.
This arc really should have been in episodic format. It was already rushed in the manga so when you transfer it to the screen in the form of movie it gets even more rushed. It’s such a shame because the story of this arc is the best if we got more time to flesh it out with each episode. At least the movie was not that bad, it’s just not great either.
This was well executed. Thank you fellow sailor scout
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
Ooooh
Been waiting for this
Well, I don't know if the ending part is true. Usagi's parents and brother are said to be dead in the manga but it shows them alive and well on the movie.
Yeah. This was from a interview in one of the books I had and I had to use Google Translate. So you have to take it with a grain of salt.
14:19 I wonder if they were talking about Mars and Venus devoting their lives to eacheother or devoting their lives to their PRINCESUUUU!
Id like to think to each other. 😏
It’s nice to think, but in the finale of Sailor V, Adonis curses Minako so that she’ll never find romantic love. ;(
I think the reason why Naoko named the chapters "stars 1" or "stars 2" because she was rushing to do this last arc and I'm assuming she couldn't be bothered to name them properly. Another thing about that added scene at end of the second movie. It Pretty much confirms the moon cats like Luna are still alive. In the manga, you don't know what happened to them and you don't even see them in the wedding. I hope they'll do a Sailor V anime 😢
That is what i figured it could of been too. Just had to rush to get it done.
Definitely a missed opportunity to have bring back an original voice actor from the DiC/Cwi dub to voice Sailor Cosmos, also having Moon Pride be in the ending credits to movie part 2
Well done this is sooo amazing one thing tho, the voice of galaxia also played the astronaut’s girl friend from the s movie
Did she really? I'm going to do a breakdown of that movie next since it was in the manga.
*WARNING LONG READ* You're comment on Usagi's older self seems like you don't fully understood her so I just want to explain😊
You're so mean lol😭😅 Neo Queen Serenity/Sailor Cosmos isn't useless.
What was I fighting so hard for in the past?"
Usagi is a person who constantly hype herself up in her mind.
This was hard to watch but it's what I've been waiting for this whole time and it did not disappoint
Gosh This Movie Was So Fantastic Cosmos will always be my all time favorite it’s tied with Crystal Season 3 as my favorite’s in the franchise I loved this movie from beginning to end great way to end the Reboot Era of SM :D👍
36:27 This final scene ending is the ending of both Avengers Endgame and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is just perfect.
I actually haven't had a chance to rewatch the old series since they redubbed it. 🫣 I own it all on bluray but never watched it.
@@NektisNoirthat would've been nice, especially since the subtitles used the dubbed lyrics.
I saw that movie. I waited a whole year for this movie to be released in English
I think this is a great ending to the Cosmos. & I’m happy that the Guardians got their Star Seeds Back & they returned back to normality & evil never saw the light of day.
32:26 Sailor Moon: You took everything from me
To explain, it seems there are 3 timelines all happening actively the moment Sailor Moon defeats Beryl. Usagi's present, Neo Queen Serenity's future, and Sailor Cosmos' future.
I won!! I’m so excited for this one
Sailor Cosmos returning as Chi-bi-chibi meant she failed to defeat Chaos, and Sailor Moon choosing her old life instead of re-incarnating is her becoming Sailor Cosmos😢… genius
16:54 Thor: What did you do, what did you do.
I cried so hard during the last section, it’s so poetic and beautiful
32:20 Sailor Galaxia: I AM INEVITABLE
Sailor Moon Cosmos the Infinity War and Endgame.
It is not true to the source
Aa long as it's good I'm not too bothered by adaptations not being faithful.
@@gundanout11 I’m gonna say this ( 1992 did the manga better )
nice video ^_^
Thanks 😁 glad you liked it!
Yeah they let her keep her wings specially for this scene. To drag out the fight scene a bit to make it more interesting
I don't know why your tone is so attacking, but I think my comment made it clear that was my own interpretation of the scene and cosmos decided to go with a different interpretation 😅
One of the reasons I chose to interpret it this way back when I first read the manga was because I felt like Aluminum Siren shouldn't be strong enough to kill Mercury and Jupiter like that, but them dying from a accidental blast from Sailor Moon who is the strongest solider in the galaxy made more sense to me
@@olivergaspar6729 oh no i was not attacking you 😅 I was just correcting you.
@@ClubPuguin honestly it even made sense to me with Usagi's reaction, cos she breaks down in shock after attacking

I can't believe i said that. And then I kept going back and forth on if I said it right. Hahahahha
Did the parallel last chapter mention Haruka?
She was shown holding back michiru from killing the kids for being late hahaha

22:04 Loki: You will never be a god
Can you do a same video for the S Movie and the short stories of "the love of princess kaguya"
i'm curious of the diffrences.

10:47 It's weird that Minake animated so fluid in here. I'm not complaining. It's just odd.
Unlike Eternal, when I was watching Cosmos it felt super rush…
just like the manga lol.
I'm gonna be honest I don't think the source material is that great I think the og anime is superior. Loving the video still great work!
I agree. That's why I said it did a good job following the manga. But it's like i said that could also be a bad thing because of how short it is.
Since this is English it would be nice if you used the English names for the caricatures. I'm 45 years old, and I have been watching since I was a child. I still have all the shows on VHS tapes.
27:58 Sailor Galaxia lazeri crystal is the Infinity Gauntlet.
Oh gosh... my mother was right!! All it takes to get pregnant is a kiss on your lips!! 😮😮😮😮
Hahahahhahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahah i died reading this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
18:55 also means cat in Chinese
Thats right!
26:34 Sailor Galaxia is trying be like Thanos now.
I thought the new actors of the starlights sang the new re-OP only...?
Nope they utilized all of the japanese voice cast for these movies!
Can you do a manga breakdown like this but for Madoka Magica?
I actually have never finished this series. I only got up to when Mami died and that was it lol.
But I'll maybe give it another shot now that you asked me to do something on that series.
Looks like a cool movie. Shame I can't watch it!
Edit: Just based on this movie review, I think I prefer the OP anime. Of course, I am probably biased. Just a little.
Its ok the classic always has a special place in my heart. And I like these movies for what they are as well.
27:55 Sailor Galaxia the mad Guardian.
Lethe and Mnemosyne being a sapphic couple is really cute
You got Kakegurui pronunciation almost right you forgot the "gu" part but it is fine 👌
I mean....from what I read not sure if it's true. But the creator did want to kill them off at the end.
First🙋♀️
18:50 This is Not true in Egypt they say(qatah)
Good to know. Thank you for the correction!
Higurashi shrine...?
This isn't Inuyasha 🧐
How she meets the other princess is wrong, and Seiya NEVER kisses Usagi in the Manga. The whole Seiya/Usagi thing always felt like the Stars anime's influence. The quality of the animation dropped and while I don't mind some of the changes.... there are some I just don't like. Because of the changes the final bit kind of takes away from Galaxia and ChibiChibi too. Kind of felt like they wanted to go over the top but sacrificed the og story to do so.... which is surprising.
They have a small kiss in the manga just like this scene. Lol
Yep I realized in editing i made that mistake and was like well. I'm leaving it hahahahha.
Following the manga made the whole reboot dated.
Agreed. They did a good job following the manga but that isn't always a good thing.
