He probably did it for SEO also. He figured if he said it a hundred times, his video would show up in Google searches for it. The problem is he sounds like a f*cking idiot and now I will refuse to watch any of his videos again.
This was a fantastic review of the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium and the ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium or the ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced but now I think the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium is what I will go with over the ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced because the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium comes with the extra sensor and the ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced doesn’t. But I think both ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium and the ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced are good products.
Fantastic, well written, easy to understand! My son gave me the Premium for my Mountain House up at 9,000' in the Rocky Mountains. I had constant Thermostat Problems with other Thermostats that wound up costing me many Thousands after my house and plumbing froze when I was in my CA House. The outside temperature dropped to Minus 25°F which is a common occurrence. I couldn't fully appreciate my son's gift until I read your Review a few days ago and properly set everything up with 6 sensors. Thankyou
Can you turn off the microphone on the advanced model? Example: I don’t want Alexa listening to me all the time but I do want the indoor air quality meter?
Thank you for making this video. I've never seen a company with a more confusing product lineup. They all look the same and it's hard to tell exactly what you're getting.
I hear what you said about the temp sensors being able to adjust the temps in different rooms but this device and every other device can’t control temps in rooms. It either your furnace is on or it’s off. Unless you manually turn your vent closed or open on that room. This ecobee can’t adjust temps independently.
Correct, it's not independent temps in each location. Normally, a thermostat turns on/off to achieve a set temperature at the thermostat (because that's where it's temp sensor is). The external temp sensors allow you to set the temp in a different area. I my house, during the workday. I want the thermostat to maintain xx degrees in my office, and yy degrees in my bedroom at night. The rest of the house (including where the thermostat is) might be a different temp, but I don't care about that.
Very nice, thorough review comparing the Premium vs Enhanced! And yeah, concur with the others ...a lot of repetition of the "ecobee smart thermostat" ... which if omitted, might have reduced the recording by a couple of minutes! Lol
Enhanced gave me what I needed, whole house dehumidifier control. I had to use PEK+ to energize a relay, easy enough. With the federal and state rebates it was nearly free.
Good info, but half the video is you repeating the full name of each product. It got a little annoying. Id go with “the premium model” or “the enhanced version”
Thanks for the breakdown! I'm replacing a dinosaur model in my space that looks like it has been holding on since the 70s. The breakdown was super helpful and easy to understand even for a newbie like me! Sounds like it's a no brainer to spend the extra $50. Cheers!
Great video! Thank you! I never could have said Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium and Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced, every time, like you did! It made me listen extra hard to which one you were going to say, which almost caused me to forget what I was listening for! I started doubting me listening skills, instead of what you were saying! Anyway, you didn't miss a beat! I'm tired! I need a nap! (Just kidding!)
@@williammills3733 You can see in the video around 7m33s the terminals for the two models are different. An interesting observation is they seem to use a similar12 terminal backplane. The Enhanced only users 8 of them, whereas the Premium can use all 12. One would think the common 8 ones would be the same on both models, when the extra 4 connections would be for the extra Premium functionality. But the G line, a common one on both models, is in different locations.
Very informative presentation. I’m in north Texas and will be swapping out our 18 year old single stage heat pump to a two stage heat pump - plus the contractor is changing out our two thermostats to Ecobee - my question to you is - since we will continue to have two thermostats because of our zones - do both of the thermostats need to be the same type (enhanced or premium) or could one thermostat be a premium and the other an enhanced - is there anything to be on the watch when a townhome owner has two thermostats? Thanks
I just got the ecobee enhanced and the keyboard was so sensitive that I had to get a stylus to put in the WiFi password. Not sure if I had a defective one. Anyone else have the same experience?
Confused why half the time it's "Alexa" but then the other half of the time it's "a l e x a". I've heard some people call it "aleka" for this reason. Informative video though!
Man, you could just call one the 'premium' and the other 'enhanced' instead of pronouncing their whole (ecobee smart thermostat...) names all the time
It's a nice trick to extend video run time. If his video hits 10 minutes, he makes twice the money.
He probably did it for SEO also. He figured if he said it a hundred times, his video would show up in Google searches for it. The problem is he sounds like a f*cking idiot and now I will refuse to watch any of his videos again.
Lol omg glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. It was driving me nuts.
This was driving me crazy just 30 seconds into the video. Padding the video out by saying "Ecobee Smart Thermostat XXX"
😂

What was the thermostat brand again?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Could he say Ecobee a few more times?

can air quality sensors trigger to turn on hvac automatically?

Stopped watching for the same reason. Once is enough then abbreviate
But I'll bet you remember the product name now, huh?
God, just say Premium or enhanced. You don’t have to say the entire name of the product all the time.
😂😂😂
For those that have this product is your unit always warm to the touch?

Thank you for detailed differences 👍
Thanks def just need enhanced u saved me $75
Great to hear! Hope you are enjoying your new smart thermostat!
What's the best pick? Ecobee Smart Enhanced lower cost and add a sensor when they go sale?
Great video! Thank you! I never could have said Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium and Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced, every time, like you did! Fantastic video! So easily understood! Thanks - your advice is greatly appreciated.
Can you change the wake word on the Premium?
I bought the ecobee enhanced thermostat. But if I would want to upgrade to the premium could I just swap them out without rewiring the new one?
That would be a NO.

Thanks so much for the comparison!
Great comparison video! Can you tell me where I can get that hat? I live in Michigan and I LOVE it!
Great video! Just subscribed
If I have only 1 zone is the sensor still useful ?
Great video, exactly what I was looking for.
Awesome video thanks so much !!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for subscribing!

Great comparison.
The premium has an Alexa built in? Yeah that’s a dealbreaker
will this work with a older heater with only 2 wires an a ground?
Not out of the box. You need to get the fast-stat common maker kit (amazon sells it). That gives you the 3rd wire you need.
@@Preppy.Miley123 thank you for the information
Is it compatible with Lennox?
Sure
going with the enhanced at my Florida Condo, no need for the premium there since it'll mainly be a rental.
Same here. It is for rental.

If you say the name when she (Alexa) is around she perks up and responds, if you spell her name, she continues sleeping.
go with the Premium well worth the extra money
Ecobee- just one name for each product ok. If you can't do that just name them in numerical order.
Are these Ecobee3 or Ecobee4?
New generations
Did you get paid every time you said the full product name?
You said "ecobee" 135 times dude.
COME ON MAN!!!!
Amazing review!
3:10 He says ALEXA!
