BAMA Rips the AU hearts to pieces just like 2021. Priceless.

War Eagle my friend, long live this rivalry. Wouldn’t feel right not playing Bama every year

Memorable Iron Bowl game at Legion Field with 4 lead changes in the 4th quarter, the third coming with 57 seconds left when Auburn Reggie Ware made a touchdown, Auburn went for the 2 point conversion and failed. Alabama ofennse made it to the the Auburn 35 yard line in 6 plays, converting a 4 and 6 along the way, and Van Tiffin made this amazing field goal from 52 yards out.

So glad I found this on youtube. I was at work when this game was played and only managed to hear the final 30 seconds on the radio. I always wanted to watch it.

Modern broadcasters should listen to these gentlemen and take notes. Expertly called game.

The best Iron Bowl. Both teams came in evenly matched. The back and forth 4th quarter was epic.

I was in the end zone that Van Tiffin kicked toward. Great views of the reverse (1:28:21), of Shula bouncing in the pocket while half the stadium yelled at him to throw it away and the other half begging for a sack (1:29:54) and of tiny Greg Richardson unbelievably dragging a DB out of bounds. Thought for sure he was going to be tackled in bounds, ending the game.
That whole 4th quarter was an incredible emotional roller coaster. Afterward, we Bama fans sang Happy Birthday to Bo Jackson, just as Auburn fans had before the game. Great memories.

My dad and I had walked toward the end zone to be closer to t our car. I was uner the left upright and heard the mighty thud of Tiffan's boot.
NEVER can forget that. My mom taped ot on VHS format, so we watched it later

The good old days of the actual IRON BOWL. They messed up by moving the game to Auburn and Tuscaloosa. This game was never meant to be played on the campuses of the two schools

Damn, I didn't realize that winning FG had to go into the wind. That's boss for sure.

Does anyone have the entire broadcast, with commercials?

I was 12 years old, probably at my grandmas house who lived 3 blocks from Legion Field. If I wasn’t at her house I was in my neighborhood, which was about a 20 minute walk from Legion Field.

@@Rhinosaurus1000 yes sir! My grandma lived right across the street from Tabernacle church and the library on Center Street. I lived on Graymont a block from Hill School and Tucker’s Barbershop 💈!
I also played for Coach Leonard.

@@TempeSoldier123 Cool, fam! I went to Hill also. Those landmarks are taking me back. We were originally on 9th Court in the bricks until they remodeled in ‘96, when my grandma downsized to a flat on 3rd Street directly across from Parker’s band room. I swear the drums and gunshots made growing up in Smithfield feel like a civil war. 😂 Most of my momma’s side went to Parker so if none of my folks are your classmates they may have at least been there while you were. I have an older cousin (C/o ‘95) who also played for Coach Leonard just before he left for Miles.

@@Rhinosaurus1000 fam, I went home a few months ago and Oddos was still there, right across the street from Parker and Smithfield. I hate they closed Hill School because all the kids in the neighborhood had to go all the way to Tuggle.
I grew up in the 80’s in Smithfield and yeah fam, it was wild and foul. They was throwing lead in the street, even had a few dudes shooting inside of Parket when I was there. I go through my old hood and it looks nothing like it did when I was a kid. Run down and abandoned houses, don’t really see kids outside playing anymore and weeds everywhere.

@@TempeSoldier123 Yeah, Oddos is still there! I also agree on how different things are in Smithfield; not much of a working class there anymore but I noticed that even a few years before I moved. I sure hated to hear of a couple fellas I went to Hill and Parker with get gunned down in Smithfield last year. They were good dudes and I just hate seeing our people stay loyal to the wrong things. We didn’t have a shooting in Parker when I was there but I think I’ve heard of the times you referenced. I remember going to Parker vs Phillips games at Legion Field as a kid (early 90s) and you basically had to expect a shooting when those two sides of town came together.

Why was Auburn wearing their home team colors here and Alabama wearing their away colors? Just curious.

They alternated back in those days since the game was played annually on a neutral site in Birmingham at Legion field instead of on either campus.
