I play dweg and started conquest about 6 months ago. I am not a fan of the update, to me it is a meh update that did not address issues I have with dwegs play style. The change of the flame berserks I feel made them worse if you want to run an MSU of them, I run a 5 stand of them with a character so it does not so much effect me. I am who cares on vangaurd on warriors, it is a bonus to pure temper builds but otherwise I am reaching for Initiates because D4 and R3 base is so nice or Wardens because m6 gets me 13 instead of 16 and I have cleave 1. Best change is the inferno automata being A6 means they can now threaten lightish medium units and elite light units better, yes I am looking at the bow chosen. Magma forge... I have no horse in that race. Thanes, I love thanes it is just hard to take them in a list. You mention that you feel most people shoot with Dweg and then charge, I am more of charge in and then shoot into combat because I play a lot vs Cav, Brutes and Monsters so stopping their charge is very important. Even then I do not go heavy on shooting. Minor gripe, aura of death for dweg is still odd if you try to stack it. You best case is to get a unit or Herald of Magma and a Memory of Breath to get to a 7 vs doing the same with Gifted in Fire caps you at 6 which is odd to me. Gifted in Fire in fire might be good in a unit of wardens or someone that cannot get a Herald of Magma but it seems odd to me. If feel Dweg are to coded as dwarf and that limits there creative space when they really are not dwarves in anything but how they look and grudges.
What game rules do you find the Dweghom don't interact with in the same way as other armies? I found that an interesting perspective and I couldn't see where it applies. The Hold Reagh had had his army ability removed. He used to being to the Tempered Creed I think, but there was definitely an army rule that included him. Now that's been removed it makes the choice of him as the warlord even less desirable. Even more so when he has to be the warlord if you take the Iron Drake. I don't like being forced down the route of Magic and gun lines but at the moment there isn't really any other viable option. For me, my Dweg army has been shelved apart from the occasional outing as it just doesn't give a good game play experience either playing them or facing them. It's one of those lists that's been nerfed so many times that it really needs a top to bottom overhaul.
The Hold Reagh was not part of the Tempered Creed. I cannot point to an ability the Reagh is missing, his supremacy still lets lights capture objectives and he still give a unit of thanes he is in flank. You could tell me you think he needs more; I would not disagree. I mostly take him for the Ironclad because I love that model.
