  • With the new year and 1000th subscriber coming soon, we have a surprise for all the viewers! Our team SPENT 2 DAYS IN LAX PARKING LOT C and captured approximately 60 heavy aircrafts from 25 airlines around the world. Subscribe now and stay tuned for the best plane spotting videos in the world!
This is a sneak peek/highlight/trailer of the upcoming LAX spotting video. A runway maintenance closure caused some close calls on the north side of the airport. This Singapore 77W is one of the victims of single runway operation. Even though the extra hundreds of pounds of jet fuel might have broken Singapore Airlines' heart, a powerful 77W go-around can always be the best Christmas present for a plane spotter. Watch the video to feel the power of 2 GE90 engines on full-throttle!!!!

Really cool to hear the ATC command, then get the "response" from the plane with the engines cranking up.

ATC totally screwed that guy there. He knew there wasn’t enough time even with an “immediate takeoff”. He should have never cleared the Delta 757-300 onto the runway with a 777 on super short final like that.

Tell me if I am wrong but the 777 couldn't land because the ATC thought that after giving the takeoff clearance to the other plane, there was a collision risk ? So the 777 had to go around

ATC fucked up and cleared the Delta 757 for an “immediate” takeoff when the 777 was on too short of a final approach. Upon realizing his mistake and seeing that the 757 clearly had no time to get off the ground before the 777 landed, he told the 777 to go around. ATC should have never cleared the 757 onto the runway with a 777 on a 2-mile short final like that. No way. It’s 30 seconds to run the checklists and apply takeoff power and then a 757, albeit faster than most other aircraft, takes about 30 seconds to get to rotation speed. On landing, you’re traveling 2 miles a minute. On a 2-mile final, that 757 would have to already be in position when cleared and been airborne with the 777 a mile out. That’s way too close with one aircraft beginning its actual takeoff roll with another on a 1-mile short final. If the departing plane has an issue due to the rushed takeoff and has to reject, the separation is way too close. I’d say a 4-mile final to clear another plane onto the runway would be the minimum, but 3 miles is probably acceptable. Not 2 like in this video.

The ATC who cleared him, THEN cleared the Delta flight for takeoff should have been pulled off and suspended immediately! Absolutely no reason that the cleared for landing Singapore flight should have been put into that very dangerous situation by an ATC!
    Fucking INEXCUSABLE!

I agree. He should have never cleared the Delta 757 onto the runway with a 777 on a 2 mile short final, even with an immediate expedited takeoff. At landing speed, he’s traveling 2 miles per minute. It’s going to take him 30 seconds to run his checklist and apply takeoff power, then another 30 seconds for his takeoff roll (757 is about 30 seconds, faster than most planes). That puts the 777 AT the runway upon rotation of the 757. Nope. That’s too close. And then what if the expedited takeoff causes something to get missed on the 757 which leads to an aborted takeoff when there’s a 777 right on his ass? The FAA would have a coronary if the 777’s main gear touched the runway when the 757 was doing its RTO! I understand LAX is stupid busy and they had a runway out of service that day, but you need to have at least a 4-mile final to clear anyone onto the runway. Those Delta pilots were caught completely off guard from that call and weren’t prepared for an “immediate takeoff” like that. Not when they are looking out the window and seeing a 777 on stupid short final like that. They were prepared to wait. Although likely the Delta pilots should have told ATC “we can’t get off that quick” and not entered the runway. Still inexcusable as you said.
