It’s sooo funny that you’ve never used a traditional ChessClock before. Having graduated high school in the mid 80s the smaller version of these in the USA was the wooden or plastic BHBs. Those and the Master Quartz (Same Analog set up was all that existed). In Classical chess in say a 40 moves in 2 hours control both clocks are set to 1 minute before 4 O’clock (3:59) with the flags ready to drop. The control ends at 6:00 on each side. The extra minute was always applied to the control to compensate for any inaccuracies in the clockworks.
By the way there was a super cool analog blitz clock with a 5 minute dial, a minute hand only and an ultra segmented tic (like 20 tics per second, buzzing tic) which was awesome, awesome, awesome for 1 and 2 minute games!! Having the spacial representation of time for yourself and your opponent at a glance is way better than the digital clocks that took over due to accuracy, incremental setting and delay settings in the early to mid 1990s. I so wish my dad hadn’t talked me out if buying one when I had the chance just before they stopped making them due to the digital revolution. Sigh, this bad-boy clock even had a red lightening bolt between the 2 analog dials 😢

At 4:34 in the video, why didn't you fork the King and the Queen, after the King moves cause of check you take the Queen , he'd probably take that knight with his rook to protect the centered pawn and in the end you still take the pawn threating to take his knight. Just asking to see if I missed something that you saw. Thank you

I spent my childhood on these, gotta smash them hard. And the other guy wanted an increment, almost made me fall on the floor with laughter. If your opponent is in time trouble, shake them up a little bit and the flag falls down 15 secs earlier :)
Alternatively you can use them instead of medium sized construction hammer.

At some point I need to wind my old chess clock to see if it still works. 40 years ago we didn't play with increment.

Hi Robert, I have tried a few times to give you the information required for access to the training plan. However, it seems that google automatically removes messages from the same user if they are deemed to be similar to a previous one. Here is an attempt to provide the information in a roundabout way. My chess site name is: My surname (see above, with the first letter in upper case) followed, without a space, by the number 500.
