Recently Skylum Software updated Luminar Neo to what they refer to as "Update 2". It is version 1.2.0. In this version of Luminar Neo, you get a new feature, Dodge & Burn, and the ability to add the extension, HDR Merge.

If you have any input with them - personally I'd like to see panorama and focus stacking as well.
Good demo, the dodge and burn part is excellent i've never seen anybody explaining it like this and the part of nose slimming was mind blowing, please keep these tips and tricks coming, thanks a lot
The Dodge and burn functionality looks useful. I mostly use Lightroom if I have to do HDR or on1

I find all of my luminar updates come many days after, I believe it’s because it was purchased on the Apple App Store.

I love the subtle HDR. As much as I love Trey Ratcliff's HDR, I think the subtle HDR works much better in many situations.
when the first mention was made for the HDR, I tested the BUY and got a notice asking for $69 Can. although I have Aurora 2018 so tough beans for me but AP will do just nicely for the few times I might use an HDR capture. I can go to AP and do it. Save as either .tiff or .jpg and then open as single image in NEO and do anything there I like or also go an use PSX Pro and do all I like to do there or of course just stay inside of AP.
Related to the D/B -- in the first instance as well as the second, the shadow side of the face turned red. Also the highlight on the shadow side (Rembrandt lighting) was far different in intensity than the highlight side of the face which just can't happen with light in that small of space relationship.
With the nose narrowing, while the technique can be effective, unfortunately, the nose shadow did not maintain the same intensity as it does when simply viewed from the placement of the light and initial exposure. The initial exposure of the subject was well done and while the concept shown is interesting, I hope folks realize that the execution has to be very precise to get a realistic result. HTH YMMV
Oh, BTW just a thought for those learning portraiture, perhaps consider not making the hands when used almost equal to the mask of the face as that detracts from where you want the viewer's eye to travel. Also, it is important to make use of hands that add in attractiveness to the image and not just appear as clumps. So often I would have clients say that they have horrible hands. Some did not so they were correct -- don't use the hands. Some have nice hands but because they were never posed correctly or in a pleasing manner there was a negative assumption made. In this case, the hands don't add to the image of a subject that is pretty and well lit. Also, note that the fingernails were not professionally done and don't help the image either. These are all considerations that need to be made prior to exposure.
I know Anthony was not doing a full edit but I will suggest for those wanting to learn, something that is nice to do with a subject like this is to rotate the image to the left or the right (determine which looks better when showing the final result) and re-crop. With a full face view one can rotate either way whereas sometime the 2/3 facial view or eye direction will only work on way or the other which can be determined by trying both. I find it difficult to do by a simple eyeballing although I have an idea but sometimes one can be fooled.
Personally, I think I would use the erase tool to remove the black straps which again due to contrast takes the eye away from the face. HTH YMMV

Just curious if you can just use a single photo instead of multiple photos ? I have had that option in previous HDR programs, thanks.
Anthony, I am a big fan of yours. You have taught me a lot. Thank you. I own Luminar Neo but cannot update to 1.2. I try to update but it says I'm up to date with version 1.1.1. Do you have any idea why I cannot get the update?

Not knowing how they have their servers set up, I'm happy to wait a day or two - it may take that long to get the updates propogated to a USA (or other) server. I noticed when I ordered the HDR - it says "available 7/28". I'm guessing Anthony gets updates perhaps a bit ahead of others since he promotes Luminar products. Long way around the barn to say - no update available right this second for me either.

Is there access to the NEO HDR plugin when using NEO as a plugin from Lightroom CC? If there is I haven't figured out the workflow.
I've got Aurora HDR 2018 and they gave me the HDR Merge for free
Regarding HDR merge, i own aurora HDR 2019 and Luminar neo as well and most of all Skylum software, and all i got is a discount for the regular price, obviously they could find a way to make the two software comunicate with some kind of update but they chose the way of money, in these times of war its understandable but beside this now that i purchased the extension what am i gonna do with aurora hdr?
Why purchase if you have Aurora HDR 2019 and Neo? It’s a free update. Tomorrow upon release you would get a notification.
My version 1.1.1 tells me it is the latest version. And I am getting prompts to quickly pre buy the HDR package! My version of Luminar AI already has dodge and burn too. I have bought all the previous versions of Luminar and Aurora back since 2016. I am sick of all the updates of Luminar being sold as new software, Luminar 3,4, Flex, AI and Neo. I was pleased with "Albums" being introduced to Luminar back in version 3 or was it 4 and I suggested improvements to Albums as did many other people suggest add ons and improvements. No suggestions or updated features are done. All we get is a new program (at full cost), not an upgrade.

Well I apologise, today I was offered the free update to Luminar 1.2 with the HDR plugin. Obviously different parts of the world are getting it at different times. Anyway I'm still not happy about Luminar updates. Why all the versions (new programs), when the one Luminar program should be updated with new features? What happens to Luminar 4, Luminar AI now that Neo is here?
Maybe for Apple, I see no update for Windows.
Are you demonstrating that you've taken a bracketed shot in order to sue this new application for Neo?
No histogram on Luminar in 2022 ? LOL
NEO does have a Histogram. I forget which version it came in but if you are up to date, there are a couple of ways to get it but not sure if you have MAC or Windows. This method I believe works for both. Edit>open an image> R click on the image and look to the bottom of the flyout menu and click on "show histogram". Look to the area above the filters/tools and the histogram will work. If you want to show blacks and highlights, use the J key on the keyboard or click on the white circle that shows up when you mouse over the histo. HTH
HDR is so 20teens. Not needed anymore.
whoopee do, Luminar AI already has dodge and burn, so nothing new here. And now the expense of this app is raising its ugly head, paying for extensions. Staying with AI thanks.
