HAPPY NEW YEAR BETH MAY GOD BLESS YOUR HEART !!!! 2021 new year to Ryker around yea baby lol !!!!!!! Hope to see many more positive vid to come from you my friend !!!
Wish I had thought about an aftermarket option for my 2020 Ryker 900. We went the expensive and time consuming process of putting the international taillights and upper headlights.
Happy New Year!! Love that place you are at! BTW... I got the Ryker to start! Aparently those 600 you have to turn them on giving them a little throttle the first couple of miles. I pushed it outside and turned it on like that and it worked fine. Can am technitian said it may be like that the first of miles, while the gas, oils or whatever run through the motor. Today we will fill the tank and go for a long ride. So Ill let you know what happens after that! THANK YOU for your fast reply yesterday!!
Thank you for this post, I’ve been wanting to get these lights for awhile, & I want to install mine in the exact location you did. I don’t understand why BRP/Can Am won’t install these on the US model, they look so cool on the Euro models. Again, thank you for this!!
I added them to mine but wish I had looked up the costs further before starting the install. It’s not cheap. The widening harness is different than the international models. Ordering everything from BRP cost me $1300 in parts, another $100 in a custom fabricated headlight loom, and some incidentals. Luckily the bolt holes and plugs are on the body panels and frame. They are super freaking bright and amazing. The international rear tail lights and signals was a lot harder to get set up and installed.
Thanks for the video! I am putting in angel eye fog lights to my Piaggio mp3 because my bike headlights work different only one headlight come on & when turn on high beam headlight goes off!
I have the Halo ones that only came with 1 switch. I hooked everything up but the switch wires started burning 🔥. I ordered to switches and will try again. I was wondering if you have heard of the Steel Mate H3 helmet light? I am still trying to research connecting the device wires to L and R turn signal, and the brake.
Beth, your parts list shows a 2 pin waterproof quick disconnect, but the video shows a three wire disconnect. I'm guessing it should be the three wire, considering that it would be a three wire system. Just curious before I order. Thanks for all of your videos, they show me lots of options. Ride safe!!
Hey Jeff, you are absolutely correct. Some lights, such as those I installed on my bike, only require the 2 wire connector. However, on Beth's install, which I did, it uses the 3 wire connector. Hers requires a 3 wire connector because there are actually two separate lights in the housing: the blue halo and the white fog. One wire for each light and a common for ground, so yes, it uses a 3 wire connector on Beth's install. I mistakenly provided that info to her for the connector link. The correct link for the 3 pin connector is www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QDS5DKR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Again, thanks. Good catch on my mis-info, not Beth's. Hope your install goes great.
Do you get butterflies in your stomach when you drill into that plastic? Lazy me would just cover the unwanted holes with a decal or some Ryker ornament.
I try not to stress to much about drilling holes into it. The replacement panels are not too expensive. I actually bought filler to fix the holes John made and then I will (hopefully) be getting a custom paint job soon.
Hi Beth I did the panel lights on the panels, question would you happen to have a diagram of how to wire te on off on switch? I do have then connected to my fog lights by the front grill. Could you help. Thank you. I see se t pictures.
OK, I have put two schematics of how you would wire in the fog lights using a relay. Link is here m.facebook.com/groups/686144652171703/permalink/989853368467495/
If you do no not want the protection a relay provides and just want to go through an on-off switch, simply remove the relay from the circuit and connect together the wires that had connected to 85 and 87. Totally remove the wire that went to 30.
Thanks! I went back and checked and these do not come in other colors. But Amazon has tons of options to choose from. I didn't "choose" these. A friend bought a 4 pack and gave me 2 if I installed his. I think he got the better deal! lol
Never put weight on a panel that is not structural. The vibration is not going to do you favors in the long run. It's also not a good idea to mount switches on panels far away from the hand grips. For ergonomics and saftey, you want to keep hand movements and looking for stuff at a minimum. The sad part is people often go the easy route to get stuff done and form over function is the norm. I'd love to see how stable this mounting location is going down the average road with bombs and the ocxstionl pothole. Those lights do look nice and seem to fit the Ryker look. Good choice.
Thanks for the observation, Brian. And yes, it is fun. By the way, what year Ryker do you ride? What? Oh, a Gold Wing...Oh. And a Yamaha. Good ammunition. :) Ride safe, my friend.
For all you new people who want to put lights on your Spyders. Riding on the roads in the US. It is law that you can only have RED,AMBER AND WHITE lights. Good luck.
Otay, Steve. A note, traffic laws are set by each state, not federal law. General statements like yours are usually not valid. Just a simple Google search about that for one state, Florida, shows them to be illegal only if rotating or flashing. (ref: Section 843.081, Florida Statutes, makes it unlawful for "a person to use in or on any nongovernmentally owned vehicle or vessel any flashing or rotating blue light unless such person is a law enforcement officer employed by a federal, state, county, or city law enforcement agency[.]") These are completely legal in Florida. Others, Illinois and Alabama, for instance have no law at all on the books for such lights as these. The best advice is what other commenters have stated, which is to check your respective state as to legality of such lights. Also, I am supposing, that these are not "lights" as such that the various laws might apply to them. They are only halo lights: a fairly dim ring of light surrounding the main bright LED lights, not rotating, flashing or strobing bright law enforcement style lights visible from a mile away.
The lights are clear, unless you turn on the halo (which is blue). But thank you for the warning. In Florida you are ok as long as they are not flashing.
Those look great BUT just remember blue lights facing forward in many states such as mine is not legal. So I'd suggest looking into other color options and not blue (or red which is also illegal in some states). In fact here in MA for example no color other than amber or white would be legal. Sorry to be a party pooper. Just passing on my law enforcement info 🤷♂️
HNY Beth. Right back at ya. We had a great time in FL last week, thanks for showing us around such beautiful places.
You are so welcome! Loved being able to return the favor! Have you recuperated yet?

Nice job and the lights looks great.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching.
Also can we get some nightime views of how they look from the riders perspective?
Sorry I can't add to a video once it is posted. PM me on FB with your email and I will gladly send you a video from the rider's perspective.

you should use one of the mistake holes to mount the rocker switch:-) 2 birds 1 stone..

Ms. Beth, would they be able to fit on the arms of the wheels?
They should. You would just need to double check the clearance.

The Ryker on and off switch with low beam no relay.
****** Also remember to put a fuse at the +battery connection for the lights.
If you do no not want the protection a relay provides and just want to go through an on-off switch, simply remove the relay from the circuit and connect together the wires that had connected to 85 and 87. Totally remove the wire that went to 30.

Nice lights but one suggestion the bolt holes should be rainforced to avoid cracks due to vibration.
Good point. We did use heavy duty washers to reinforce. Hope that does the trick!
Good tip. And yes, I did use large fender washers on the back to spread the flex. Thanks
