    Hi, I want to thank you. I have been in a battle with cancer and after being diagnosed my wife of 32 years walked away. So I have had some dark times. But watching your videos has helped me a lot they have motivated me to get moving . So thank you you might have saved me. Keep up the great work.

    Yaki-sugi. I want you to know my favorite part about your videos vs the John Malecki's (also a fan of his) is that they mostly do entertainment but I learn so much more when I watch you videos and since I'm a beginner you shoot to the top of my list over everyone else. Thank you

    Yakisugi. Love the look when doing this technique. Especially when you get a really good char and then use a stiff bristle brush to expose the weathered texture underneath.

    That sounds better. Well I’m an older bearded guy so I can relate to Bearded Viking. With red hair. We need to figure out a way to hang all our small tools from elastic strings so all you have to do is grab, use and let go.

    I've always been a fan of the Yaki-Sugi noodles you get for a couple bucks. So tasty. Especially when charred with a propane torch.

    I love watching these simple build videos. It makes me want to get out in my shop and make a huge pile of sawdust, but the thing that I can never figure out is WHERE to sell these things. I have a ton of little projects like this, but I live in Alaska and I have no idea how or where to sell any of this.

      Alaska ! Well go to your locally owned businesses and start showing them the stuff and ask to leave a product and some business cards !! Tap in locally , grow your brand locally it’s what I did .

    Brother Viking I'm just beginning my journey. Love watching your videos. I moved into a place that's got a 10 by 20 shed. I want to turn into a shop. Could you do a video of how you build your shop up and how you set it up. Where you put everything to make it easy access. That way I can get an idea of how to set mine up. I would appreciate it.

    Yakisugi... just burn that wood... lmao.. another great video. I never would have thought to use a french cleat. Im starting to learn woodworking terminology, but by far the best is adadadaba Glue. Maybe with the tools, they'll put an apple tag or samsung tag that can help locate your tools because i need them . I constantly misplaced my tools

    Yaki-suki : I dig your style bro!! Keep up the great work! I made a few reclaimed wood projects and posted them on Facebook Marketplace. I was amazed when people contacted me and actually bought some of my stuff. It's helped me feel like I can actually make some money doing something I enjoy. I have a bunch of ideas and your channel has given me a lot of ideas for more things to make and inspiered other ideas! Keep doing what you're doing. Woodworking is a lot of work to begin with, adding video shooting and editing is a whole other project on it's own. Props to you and all the work you do!

    Yakisugi (& 'shou sugi ban' are interchangeable & are written with the same kanji characters. The 'ban' means plank, hence the common use of shou sugi ban to describe cladding). Loving your work as usual, thank you, Daniel.
    So, when charring planks/cladding/decking, etc., sugar-boogie is fine! ;) Everything else is Yakisugi.
    Keep-on keeping-on...

    Yaki-sugi. It almost feels like cheating to admit I watch other woodworking content.
    Yes I watched them, but I didn't enjoy it...😂
    The thing I like about you channel is you teach and show your mistakes and how to correct them. So I always take a bit of knowledge when watching.
    Funny thing is I was watching Avery Street Design video and he was gluing up some wood and had to stop himself, cause he said he almost started singing the Adadaba glue song.

    There was nothing wrong with what you said, just another term for same process (Yakisugi is a traditional Japanese wood preservation method that involves charring wood to create a durable, attractive finish. The term translates to "burned cedar" and is also known as shou sugi ban in the West:)
