@@mxkdt the thing is that the 500GD is a newer version of the GD Series while the 550GD is an older version. The 500GD costs almost 100usd here in my country while the 550GD costs only 65usd and that's why i want to buy that specific model... My main concern is that in the asian evga website it says that the lenght of the psu is 165mm but in the international evga website says it is only 140mm, so i'm wondering wether it would fit or not

I have a 7010 Mini Tower. Note the stock PSU comes with 'right-angled' SATA power plugs. Make sure the replacement ATX PSU has 'right-angled' SATA power plugs. Otherwise, if you insert a 'straight' plug into a 3.5" hard drive as shown in the video, the leads from the plug are likely to stick out too far from the case, and prevent the metal side panel from being refitted !
I only discovered this fact during an experiment, where I took an ATX PSU from a 2008 PC to verify it would work in my 7010 MT. This old PSU happened to have 'straight' SATA power plugs.
@Crypto World no problem with power supply... remove the hdd drive cage with a drill it is held by some rivets at the bottom of the chassis, buy a 2.5(for ssd)+3.5(for hdd) to 5.25 adapter with this you can put all of your drives in the 5.25 drive bays and now you can also put a longer gpu thats what i did

This is definitely what I needed to know. I'm looking for a used PC that'll suit my GTX 950 that is 10 inchs. I wish all your videos gave a great view of what I have to work with when it comes to GPU space. I've watched 3 others for 3 different pcs and couldn't make out if there was space or not.

Finally upgrading to the GTX 1050Ti 4GB, and adding the Corsair CX 450M in case I need to upgrade further in the future.
How well did this work for you? Did you find you needed to upgrade the PSU or no?
This worked perfectly. I did need to upgrade the PSU to the 450 though, the output of the supplied power source was only 275W. I looked around online and found that I would probably need at least a 400W for my current setup.
Interesting. I'm curious if I get get by on the 275W stock power supply in the Dell 1070 MT. 1050 Ti specs quote recommended system wattage at 300, but only has a 75 TDW.
I'm sorry, I should have explained a little more. I plan on retiring this computer some day and using the parts I've already upgraded in a new rig. The larger capacity of the PSU was meant to ensure that I wouldn't have a problem with a heavier load.

Is it difficult to move the motherboard into a AtX/Matx case when it comes to front panel connectors?
I realise some Dell mobo connectors are not standard, do I just trace the wires from the motherboard connector to the power button, make a note which pins they going to, then connect the power button from to the new case to the two power button pins I noted down?

I have he same PC that sata port you talked about “L” shaped cable, what is it for? I don’t seem to have anything plugged into those slots and I can’t boot into any of my hard drives! I bought the computer with no hard drives I cloned an ssd and was able to boot into only via the front USB ports. If I try to connect the ssd to any of the sata ports an error pops up saying no bootable device found

I ended up swapping out the case for my Optiplex 7010, since I had spare parts lying around. I've been trying to hook up the mobo to a Corsair RM550x PSU and I am not getting any power to the board at all. At first I got the CPU fan to power on for a couple seconds without the CPU 4-pin plugged in. Now, not a peep. I have tested the mobo with it's original supply and it's turned on, I just can't get the PSU to work since

I really like your videos, I have the Dell Optiplex 7010 and 990, I tried to change the PSU in the 7010 and I noticed there a spring PSU retainer and in your video at 1:10, you were trying to install the new PSU but you were having a hard time, because the retainer is spring loaded and you must pull it back in order for the PSU to fit and when I tried to replace the stock PSU with a 750 watt PSU it would not fit, because it's a tad bit longer than the stock PSU and I tried to remove the retainer with no luck, can you please show how to remove it so a larger PSU with more wattage can be installed. 500 watt is good for the RX 570 and it should fit in the casing no issue. If there is you might need to get a PCIE Riser

Pleeeassee respond. I purchase this same computer 7010 MT and was wondering if I could install a 1050ti in this case, and if so how? I head the motherboard only allows like 35w to be drawn from the slot and that the 1050ti needs atleast 75w to run.

You obviously are very familiar with the 7010. I just ordered one and I wonder if you know which two sata connections are sata 3.0. The technical manual says 2 are 2.0 and 2 are 3.0, but not which is which. Thanks!

Also hate how they don't use a normal mounting system for the CPU fan. Either going to have to look for a small card and maybe catch a deal on a 1060 (feels like a waste pairing a I7 with a 1050 or 1050 TI) Or get a new MOBO , CPU Fan and Tower.

yes you can, most of those computers have a 275w 80+ gold psu and the gtx 1050 ti has a tdp of 75w even if you have an i7 3770 you should be fine so i think is not necessary change the power supply
