I don't like to go out ( away from house) anymore. I love to be outdoors and take care of my critters. Work in little garden. Spent the last 2 days doing food preparation. Cooked a turkey and next day broth from bones. Feral cats got the bones. I spend very little doing things this way. I believe in being content with what I have.
I love to stay home in my little cottage, people laugh because I only have 1 bathroom.when I bought the house I thought I had made it in life because the bathroom is inside at the time I purchased many people still had outhouses..😊
Hello. My sprinkle of joy was a person and that person doesn’t even know it. After Monday’s tragedy in Nashville I have been very low and just feeling broken in spirit. Yesterday I was out running errands listening to praise music and approaching in oncoming traffic is someone riding a motorcycle in a bunny costume. I laughed for the first time in several days. God bless that person!
My sprinkle of joy this week is discovering some joys of being newly retired( I retired last week). I always loved baking but always felt rushed during the week or on weekends if I wanted to bake something. I’ve already made carrot raisin muffins (using items that needed using up), cookie dough that went into the freezer, and a batch of whole wheat dinner rolls. I also made homemade applesauce in the crockpot using some apples that were danger of going bad. Bonus is being able to bake early in the day, avoiding the peak electricity charges from 4 to 9 p.m. This afternoon I’m headed to the library, getting to peruse at my leisure.
Great Video Emmy! My sprinkle of joy this week had to do with 'Pens'. I have a small office upstairs in my home and was searching for a pen. So I went on Amazon and was ready to order a box (and they aren't cheap) when I thought of your channel. I decided to check the drawers of my desk more thoroughly. After a one hour declutter (which I enjoyed), I had discovered (drum roll) 46 pens!! They were mostly black ink but a few were red and even green. Not only did my office get a good cleanup and re-organization, but I was thrilled to find so many pens. I felt like a miner who had struck gold!!! I told my husband that it was all inspired by your 'frugal' tips - so MANY thanks.
I had a similar expedition last year. I found pens everywhere! Drawers, the car's glove compartment, coat pockets and in old purses etc..i sat down one evening while I was watching the news and tested everyone! A few had dried up but the others were good. It's a little thing but it's so satisfying having a jar of them handy in every room so I can grab one and jot down a note or a phone # . I.also found extra scissors and sharpees in the hunt. ..I'm dedicated to using up all my office supplies before buying new..Note pads, envelopes, mailers etc..
We were told to get rid of 80% of our stuff when we retired from a 6 bedroom home, and poultry farm ,to a cabin in the woods. We built a pole barn to protect our boat, trailers and extra items. We regularly go out and find items that we saved ,and use them for projects on our property. It has saved us thousands of dollars. We still use trailers regularly for chores on the property and to avoid delivery fees of things that we need. We remind others that we live our lifestyle and they live their lives. To each their own.
YOU AND PAUL ARE TRULY BLESSED. I AM IN MY 80th YEAR AND HAVE ONLY IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS FOUND YOUR CHANNEL. YOU HAVE BROUGHT MUCH JOY WITH YOUR COMMON SENSE , TIPS AND SHARING WONDERFUL WAYS OF ENHANCING LIVES WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY IN A SILLY WAY.A FEW YEARS AGO MY HEALTH DETERIORATED DRASTICALLY, MY THRIFTING DAYS AN D LIVING AS YOU TEACH. HAVE SERIOUSLY DEPLETED AS I CAN NOT GET AROUND OUTSIDE ANY MORE, HOWEVER I DO TRY TO KEEP YOUR ETHOS AT THE BACK OF MY MIND. LOVE TO YOU BOTH FROM ACROSS THE ATLANTIC. 🇬🇧🙏✝️❤️
I'm in my 70's and still use many items that belonged to my Grandmother. So you know my stuff is OLD. I just happen to think old is best, it's my comfort zone. Wonderful video.
I’m only a few years behind you, and like you, still use many things from our grandmothers. Breadbox, ladles, pans, furniture, and hand-embroidered pillow cases to name a few. 🌸
Hi, Emmy and Paul! My sprinkle of joy this week is kind of odd, but I was able to get 23 free empty banana boxes from local grocery stores for my church. We will use them to ship Crisis Care Kits to needy areas of the world. God really provided for me! He is so good to me!
Thank you & Paul for an encouraging video! I look forward to your videos and your sweet followers' comments to keep me on this wonderful, wise journey of frugality. I am 74 years old and never too old to learn and grow. A doctor said once, when you stop growing, you die. My sprinkle of joy this week was reading about a 96 year old physician named Melissa Freeman, who takes the subway daily to her clinic in Harlem, N.Y. to treat drug addicted women, but also anyone who comes to her office. The interviewer asked when will she retire, and she said as long as God gives her energy to work, she will serve. This gave me so much hope that now I volunteer every week. May God keep you sharing your gift with the world and God bless Paul's dad!
My sprinkle of joy this week was putting on a beautiful cotton floral bedspread! It is covered in spring flowers and has made the room look so pretty! I have been struggling this week with my recovery from my broken ankle as although I can walk with a crutch some days are painful if I over do it! I have been very tearful but need to keep taking each day and being thankful for each small bit of progress! I had bought the bedspread a while ago and it was just the thing to cheer me up today! Your videos are always encouraging Emmy, thanks so much!
Recovering from these types of injuries takes so much patience doesn't it. Your attitude is positive and you did very well to find joy in that bedspread. That's the best attitude to help your recovery. Keep finding joy in the smallest things. Look out the window or sit outside when you can as there usually is a lot of joy in the colours of plants and flowers and the birds singing etc. You're doing so well, because it's very hard when you're injured and in pain, but as the days go by you will make more and more progress. xx
My sprinkle of joy was finding little pots of white tulips on a Lowe’s shopping trip that were marked half off. At $1 each I picked up two which each had about 5 tulips. For $2 I got beautiful Spring flowers for our dining room table and later I’ll plant the bulbs in my flower bed and have tulips every year to enjoy.❤
We are retired and own our home and two autos. We are blessed to have two rental homes debt free. For us they are assets as security. My spouse loves golfing and fishing. I am the opposite. I buy what I need not what I can afford.😂❤
I'm in my early sixties, so I already own everydangthing I need. I moved in January, downsizing and got rid of so much! I purged at least 30% of my possessions. I gave some things to friends, a neighbor who is setting up a new home for herself and her toddler, made some donations to the library and a shelter. I don't miss any of it! Good message!
My sprinkle of joy this week, a new pair of hand knit socks! I won a giveaway and the wool was the prize. All I had to do was to comment. I picked a free pattern, knit it up in my spare time, and I have a new pair of socks to keep my feet warm for many winter to come! ❤❤
@@katworkstowander9853 Hi Kat: Yes, I’m on Ravelry! I learned to knit and crochet basic stitches in 6th and 7th grade! I don’t have second sock syndrome. I learned to knit socks during the lockdown in NY. It helped me coped with the horrors of the pandemic. Where are you from? Are you learning crochet from UA-cam? Are you a continental knitter? I learned continental from UA-cam. I am an avid knitter, I knit more than I crochet. When my kids were young, I crochet and don’t knit. Have an awesome weekend! Happy knitting! ❤️
My sprinkle of joy his week was that I made a lovely cross out of scrap cardboard. I covered it with some leftover wrapping paper and I glued a carved wooden heart (a broach that had a broken clip) to symbolise the love of Jesus's and His gift to me. I love it.
My sprinkle of joy was picking a beautiful bouquet of daffodils from my flower bed and putting them in my lovely blue and white pitcher which I have had for decades! Absolutely gorgeous and absolutely free!
My sprinkles of joy this week have been hearing birds singing in the morning, sprouts of tulips and daffodils popping through and our neighbor down the road gave us about 100lbs of beef for free for helping him fix his well pump that supplies his farm with water. When I asked him what we owe him he said nothing, neighbors helping neighbors si I gave him a loaf of banana bread I had just made and a jar of his favorite jelly. He's a single man so he really appreciates fresh baked goods and homemade jelly (doesn't like jam but loves his jelly lol). Its the small things that gives me the most joy 😊!
I l8ve the bowls, they are beautiful and what a bargain! My sprinkles of joy this week were putting out Easter decorations that I made with my 20 year old niece when she was 5. I used to take her to garage and estate sales when I babysat her on Saturday mornings. We found unfinished ceramic decorations for every holiday at an estate sale. It was at the home of a woman who had taught ceramic painting. We picked out 10 holiday pieces and painted them over the next year or so. I sent one home with her each time she painted one, and I kept one each time. I adore them. She just passed her boards this week and is now a nurse. She is a joy to me, and she has grown up to be a caring, generous young woman with a heart of gold. ❤
the potatoes I bought to sprout are almost ready to plant. Getting some cardboard boxes this saturdaty to plant them . ( a frugal hack from another channel) . Love the joy of your channel
Our home has an eclectic look that wouldn't seem beautiful to others but means a lot to us. There are old antique things from our parents' and grandparents' (few that were great grandparents' also), new things, thrift store finds, etc. Still decluttering because we don't have to keep everything but a lot of that is decor, crafts and kitchen things we no longer use. A spark of joy came when running across an old plastic tray used for playing cards. Family used to play canasta with my grandparents and relatives. I remembered being young and had played on grandpa's team against grandma and my great aunt. I stayed all night at my great aunt's that night, and she insists that I was laughing in my sleep, and it was because grandpa and I won at canasta that day. Good simple memories. The bowls were lovely and the bird bath a great use of otherwise discarded things. Your words are so encouraging and appreciated more than you know. God bless you both! 💕💕🙏🙏
My Grandma always said to " mind your own garden", in other word, everyone should make their own choices, and who cares what others think. And your right, new items are very cheaply made; give me fifty year old quality!
I couldn't agree with you guys any more than what I already do. You are so right Emmy! Being grateful for all that we have is a blessing in itself! God bless you both and thanks for sharing! I love it!
I had a couple if "sprinkles of joy". One was the odd feeling I needed to call a lifelong friend who lived in Myrtle Beach. I hadn't heard from her since Christmas .She was delighted because she'd had a back procedure earlier in the week and was bedfast for a few days..We had a great phone chat for over 2 hours! We both felt blessed from our phone visit. ---- Then today I volunteered at the pet charity thrift shop and got a little shopping in at the end of my shift. I got some hanging planters and baskets for my porch and yard and emergency candles and the total came to less than $5. Then I went next door to a resale clothing shop and got a pair of summer pants and matching top for $3.18. That was my spring haul! It was pretty satisfying finding items I need but not paying much and meanwhile supporting local charities. I also made sure I wouldn't over buy because I only had $20 in my purse! .😊 💵 ❤
My sprinkle of joy was that I remembered to get out and go to city hall and vote early. Election Day always creeps up on me and I feel guilty for not participating. Now if only the commercials would go away!
I very rarely eat out, but my sprinkle of joy was having lunch today at Cracker Barrel with 2 dear friends that I have not seen in quite a while. I am blessed to have their friendship.
The ice cream truck started to come around this week so this 48 year old was a kid again lol. Vanilla cone with cotton candy sprinkles. It was delicious and a fun treat. Loved the bowls 🌸
My sprinkle of joy this week is seeing robins! I can hear birdsong and the weather is getting a bit warmer. I’m in the snow belt of Michigan so we still have a lot of snow on the ground but spring is coming🪺🌷
My sprinkle of joy was seeing Dixie has renewed her contract 🤗🤗 what beautiful soup bowls to fill with delicious homemade soup….thanks for your uplifting videos….have a blessed Palm Sunday…..
Yes, finally! The little Diva wanted a new trim by Mommy and Daddy before she made her appearance though lol! Hope your Palm Sunday was a blessing too!
I watched your video where you showed us how to darn a sock, and today I applied that to my favorite shawl that had a hole in it. So happy to be able to wear it again!
I love vintage items, so when people get rid of old things, I feel sad for the lost memories. Obviously I then have to collect these beautiful things 😂
My sprinkles of joy this week was watching our 2 new baby lambs dancing in the fields and the carton of Mayfield "Whitehouse Cherry Vanilla ice cream I bought. Yum! Great video again :)
I live in San Bernardino Mtns. We have had a month of bad weather with tons and tons of snow and rain. I thought my deck was undermined from all the water. In my mind I thought it had to be replaced:(. Building Inspector came out to look at it. My sprinkle of joy is: the deck is still solid just needs a lil repair!!
What a wonderful message! My sprinkles of joy this week was being able to celebrate my aunt's 80th birthday with the family and, of course, working in our cousin's garden while he continues to fight that wicked cancer.
I really appreciate being frugal at this time in my life more than at any other time. I live without a car, get my groceries delivered after ordering online, cook and eat at home and check my expenses every week. If I don't I would not be able to live on my small income, which is the australian old age pension. I love watching your channel because you make me feel I am not alone.
You two never cease to amaze me! Wonderful words of wisdom for all! My joy comes from being free of being a slave to the constraints of the dollar. I didn't realize how wasteful we were before joining this frugal journey. Thank you so much for everything!!!❤
My simple joy was my almost 3year old grandson cleaning his mum's bag and giving grandma the 20Rand note he found😂❤... I kept it since he did it in front of her... His such a grannies boy. Excellent video much enjoyed. Take Care
Oh hey, 10 minutes from upload. *grabs coffee* I agree with the title of the video, keeping it simple. No need for 7 different cleaners for the house when you can just have one all purpose bottle, vinegar/baking-soda, dish detergent (warm soapy water)...
I sew, and my most favorite projects are things I can make from upcycled fabrics from linens and clothing found at thrift stores or given to me. It just gives me so much joy to think I made something for only a dollar or even for free. Some fabrics are so beautiful and I buy the garments never intending to wear them; in fact, I buy the largest sizes I can find. Great for household items like potholders, appliance covers, tote bags, cosmetic pouches, pillows, coasters, toys, even sometimes gifts, such as a little drawstring bag full of candies or a fancy wine bag with wine. I love this community, so many wonderful shared ideas.
Greetings from Germany, I do the same. Bedding, clothing etc upcycling. At the moment I make rag rugs that I weave. My husband built me the weaving frame. It is so much fun to create something new from the "old" materials.
My youngest is having some big dental work next Friday, and he had to have a pre-op this past Friday. He was very well behaved and the nurse said he had good manners. It was such a great compliment because manners come from watching others and being instructed. Sometimes I don’t have it all together, but it’s the little compliments that are worth more than gold!
Emmie, I’m a dish person too, and I recently found an amazing treasure at our local Salvation Army: a vintage Homer Laughlin Rhythm set in mint condition! The serving bowl alone sells for $75, and I paid $19 for the entire set. Every piece was there, and there wasn’t a chip on any of it. I think someone got it for their wedding in the 50s and never used it. My guess is that the family thought it was dated and got rid of it. Although I was tempted to sell it, I decided to keep the set, and every person I have at my table enjoys them. Additionally, I had a Mikasa set of beautiful china, and I decided to take them to the local thrift store instead of selling them. I wanted someone else to experience my pleasure in them. I live in a very small home, and I don’t have room for 3 sets of dishes as I also have another “daily” set. You two are a delight to me and to so many. I would love to spend time with a book on your deck with Lorris in my lap and Dixie sitting at my feet! (I would bring treats for us all! 😂)
My Easter sprinkle of joy was finding my mom's antique pink tablecloth. Looking forward to dressing the dinner table with it this Easter and bringing back dear memories. Happy Easter one and all!
We are going on a little vacation next week, and in the past I would have gotten a pedicure because I will be wearing sandals. This time I did my own toes, and nails, and saved over $90+ from not going to the salon. Now we have more money for fun stuff or dinner out.
Hello there! I’ve been doing that soap trick for years! I will admit that I came by it by accident. We had our bathroom redone and I had been looking for something to put the hand soap in. Found what I was looking for ( on sale of course ) . When I got it home and went to fill it up I noticed a little line with wavy lines above it with a drop of water. It was then that I realized it had the pump for foaming soap. Added about a quarter with soap then added the water and Viola! Pritt-teee cool! Something that I do is when the school supplies go on sale for back to school I stock up on the glue sticks . I use them instead of tape when wrapping gifts - especially at Christmas time when there tends to be more than usual amounts of gifts. Another tip ( and this is a good one) wrap all the bigger gifts FIRST and use the scraps for the smaller ones. That way you tend to not run out of paper. And of course I save all the larger pieces / tissue paper from gifts that are given to me to reuse later. I only have about 3 or 4 rolls of paper has a general pattern that are not gender specific to use throughout the year for all the gifts. The only time I buy “ specialty “ paper is for the grand babies if I do buy it. Which leads me to my simple joy this week. My grand babies! Got to spend the entire day with them playing, out to lunch ( we went to my work and I got a HUGE discount) and to the park! It was a beautiful, sunny day and the temp was almost 70 degrees. They are such a joy and I will be getting another grandson on May 1st! ❤❤❤❤💕💕🧢🧢🎀🧢👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
"Keep your values close and your purchases close to what you value," is pure genius! I printed it out and pinned it to my wall. Wonderful content, Emmy I'm recommending your channel to everyone I know. Thanks.
It gives me joy every week to watch your channel and be inspired to use my purchases in a frugal way. Today I baked a pork boneless shoulder and then cut it into 4 large pieces, 3 of which went in ziploc bags in the freezer. The other piece I will make into meals for the next 2 or 3 days with vegetables or salad. You have inspired me to do this and I will enjoy the savings from this. Thank you so much Emmy and Paul... The pork boneless shoulder cost me 19 dollars Australian on special - it weighed just about 5 pounds weight. Sometimes the price of meat seems extortionate here. Then I usually buy chicken or cans of beans.
I don’t see why so many you tubers say to get rid of things we like or can use. Yes, don’t keep 40 tin pie plates, but a few and a few boxes can come in handy
This week the closure of my tin tea caddy broke. The next day I found a new can for 20 cents in our second hand store. This store is an enrichment for our small town. Volunteers run it, and besides clothes there are also household goods. All profits are donated to good causes in our community.
Paul Please put some rocks, stones something into that pie plate. You will get so many more bird's! They may not see it because it's clear. Also they need something to perch on.. lhey get nervous otherwise. Great funds! My Hungarian grandma had soup bows that looked so much like the one's you found! ❣️ She made chicken soup and farina dumplings... Like matzo ball's but to me better! She cooked them in a separate pot of soup, they were huge and soaked up all the broth and flavor... How I miss it and her of course 🌹 PS You just gave me my sprinkle of joy by showing those bowl's!
My sprinkle of joy is seeing my carrot seeds have sprouted! These are seeds of multi-coloured carrots, which I really like and are rather expensive to buy.
I was able to take back some items back to costco n to put the money back on my food stamps...and all and all a friend was very helpful in getting me all around town to do sum errands done...n then we went to sarku japan to get soem good food for ourselves....and then we went back to my apt to enjoy the food....and spend some time together.....
My sprinkle of joy this week was my hubby inviting me to resale shop for the couple hours we had free as we were waiting for our son and his friend. I hadn’t been shopping for a couple months. In the move cross country I got rid of about 75% of our things. And we’ve only bought what we absolutely needed since. I found a salad spinner and a purple tie dye maxi church skirt (purple is my favorite color) and a 4 wick candle and a book for my dad for Christmas. Spent maybe $15 which was a fraction of the cost for these new. ❤🎉❤
Like you folks, I can look around my house and enjoy my family history. I am certain that some folks would cluck in disgust at my odd collection of wares and oddities and call them trash. Oh well, let them have their fun but I call them treasures and I love them and the initial owners who chose them, I am daily reminded of my loving family and inspired by their love and lives.
I had to downsize due to one of life’s unexpected situations. With the current economic climate in our country I am so glad for unexpected blessings. I live in a cozy home in the woods in the mountains on a small homestead and are so grateful for our family and our home. Your bowls are so you two. ❤
Emmy, those bowls are beautiful! I love eating from large bowls like that, keeps the juice from running off the plate. My joy this week was to plant lettuce, potatoes and onions. We still have carrots to plant but waiting until next week to be sure the frost is done. Love gardening and playing in the dirt. I also just made a tomato, cucumber, onion marinated salad to have for dinner tonight. It looks like a bowl of spring just waiting to be tasted and that will bring me great joy with my baked fish and asparagus for dinner. Spring is coming, my tulips are about 4 inches high, the grass is green and we are in our first tornado watch of the season here in Missouri, that's how I know it is Spring for sure! Yikes! So far, just a bit of rain and nothing damaging.
Paul, you may want to put some small stones or marbles in the birdbath for bees and butterflies to drink water safely. They get thirsty too and will drown if the bird bath is too deep for them. Thanks!!
I agree with you, keep it simple. I enjoy the simple pleasures of making bread, or cheese. This week it's been the joy of watching my garden starts grow under the lights. I'm amazed how big they have gotten and look forward to fresh tomatoes, beans, peppers and flowers this year.
We had tornados today...I had to grab things fast in case I had a direct hit. After it was over, with minor damage, thanks to God, I realized what was important! My little dog and my husbands urn was all I took...maybe it's smart to think of what we really need.
I love that blouse, Emmy! We had to replace our stove and refrigerator in the last six months, as the 20+ year old ones broke down beyond repair. It was tempting to get a dishwasher to have all new, but nope. It still works so it the old one stays. I’m budgeting for a new washer and dryer down the road, but only if absolutely necessary. I got my “dream” washer and dryer set (paid cash) when we bought this house, and have taken VERY good care of them for almost 20 years. Like a teen boy with his first car, LOL! The soup bowls are lovely! I have Fiestaware, and much was purchased as “seconds” for a fraction of the original price. We really enjoy it. I have a wonderful Lodge cast iron Dutch oven and lid we got at a flea market for just a few dollars, and other thrifty finds we’ve enjoyed over the years. My sprinkle of joy was digging into my yarn stash (built on sale over the years) and pulled out the three colors I needed for a specific project.
Emmy and Paul Blessings to you both! My sprinkle of joy this week was being able to bless our daughter with a full week of babysitting so she and her husband could take a much needed vacation ! It was actually a blessing to us a full week with one of our grand kids!
Carpe Diem Keep it simple… What a wonderful Friday video! Love Paul’s 🦅 bird bath, and it Looks 👀 like Dixie Belle loves it, too. Emmy, what a win on your gorgeous soup bowls. My joy this week has been designing and creating a meaningful and beautiful TRAVEL JOURNAL for my sister. We are all going on a holiday to the French west Indies where we rent a house and have a family reunion. My sister has never been, therefore I thought organizing a travel journal would be a great gift for her. Building memories are very important in our family. Blessings to you, Paul and Dixie Belle. 💚🍀💚✝️
Fantastic video! I’m with you, hands down! Vintage items are usually made so much better. Simple is best. Love Dixie Belle enjoying the simple pleasures of the sun sand fresh Spring air ❤️ My sprinkle of joy was enjoying time with my Grandchildren doing simple things. Being present in the moment because I have no money worries because of our frugal journey! Love this lifestyle!!!
My sprinkle of joy this week was watching my granddaughter's high school bowling team (that my son coaches) win the City Championship and earn scholarship money from the USBC. Now on to the state finals! I was really encouraged by your video about keeping things simple and matching our life choices to our values. So important but it brings great peace. On a totally unrelated subject, I'd like to know what type of cleaner you use on your kitchen back splash tile. It is absolutely beautiful and looks so shiny and clean. Wishing you and Paul a blessed Holy Week.
My sprinkle of joy is really practical. I needed a wire brush to tackle some rust before painting some outdoor items. It was on my local hardware store list. I cleaned up and organized my shed, and found a wire brush out there!
❤Thanks Emmy. I am watching your videos again. Those bowls are so pretty. Having a cup of tea. I have quite a supply of tea. I am so grateful to enjoy a cup on a cold Saturday afternoon. I have some empty Bath and Body Works soap bottles from a friend and have been able to use them with soap I already had. Thanks for the tip!😊
Use what you HAVE and buy only what you NEED.
I don't like going out either. It's nice to just enjoy what I have where I have it. I'm a true homebody (O:
@@gailnoll I was never like that b4. Worked all the time. Now I am grateful to spend time at home. I have become a homebody.
@@gailnoll Me too
I love to stay home in my little cottage, people laugh because I only have 1 bathroom.when I bought the house I thought I had made it in life because the bathroom is inside at the time I purchased many people still had outhouses..😊
Vicki very well said!
I think frugal people live more intentional and are often happy ❤
I would believe we are too!
Yes, such a truly horrific situation! God knew you needed to see that motorcycle riding bunny!!
First off CONGRATULATIONS on retirement!! Sounds like a perfect day to me!
Happy Retirement!,
Congratulations 🎉!!! Enjoy this time!❤
Great Video Emmy! My sprinkle of joy this week had to do with 'Pens'. I have a small office upstairs in my home and was searching for a pen. So I went on Amazon and was ready to order a box (and they aren't cheap) when I thought of your channel. I decided to check the drawers of my desk more thoroughly. YAY!!! Debby I adore comments like yours!! Thank you for encouraging ME!
Wow! Well done you🎉🎉😊!👏👏 Very encouraging!
I paid off my house and car! Woohoo 🥳 🎉talk about feeling blessed!
YES!!!! Wonderful! Good for you!!

Yes, exactly right! Thanks for sharing Elizabeth!

Oh that is not odd at all! That is a total blessing!
Our God is always just amazing. His love for us in even the little things is truly mind blowing. Thank you for sharing that blessing with us. xx
That is so wonderful! God bless your beautiful serviced! ❤
Oh what an uplifting story! Thank you for sharing that Juanita and for your blessings!
What a beautiful story of being used by God in service. Keeps me inspired to keep serving!
I found a pair of 14k love knot earrings, I had forgotten about! I’m now wearing them. Never know what’s is hiding in nooks and crannies. ❤️
How cool Edith!!
Oh what a great find Edith!
My sprinkle of joy this week was putting on a beautiful cotton floral bedspread!
It is covered in spring flowers and has made the room look so pretty!
I have been struggling this week with my recovery from my broken ankle as although
I can walk with a crutch some days are painful if I over do it! I have been very tearful but need to keep taking each day and being thankful for each small bit of progress!
I had bought the bedspread a while ago and it was just the thing to cheer me up today!
Your videos are always encouraging Emmy, thanks so much!
Wonderful! We plan to put ours on after Easter when the weather warms up🍀
I've been looking for one too Happy 🌼🌱
Oh Sheila I am sorry the recovery is painful!! You are making progress so that is a true blessing!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
You're doing so well, because it's very hard when you're injured and in pain, but as the days go by you will make more and more progress. xx
What lovely bowls! Watching birds drink and bathe in a $3 birdbath is a simple joy that will last until winter approaches again.
Yes! Paul loves and cares for our birds so well!
YAY! What a find! How wonderful Michelle!
That's just wonderful 😊
I had to figure out wants and needs then I could work on being frugal
We are retired and own our home and two autos. We are blessed to have two rental homes debt free. For us they are assets as security. My spouse loves golfing and fishing.
I am the opposite. I buy what I need not what I can afford.😂❤
Wonderful!
Cathy that's wonderful you blessed others with what you had!
I recently let go of my childhood twin bed. I didn't want to, but we no longer had use of it. But if I had had room, I wouldn't have.
Yes, if you aren't using it then it's okay!
Happy Friday to all. Frugal is not being deprived Its a mindset and its a choice to decide what works. Balance is what matters Second lol
My sprinkle of joy this week, a new pair of hand knit socks! I won a giveaway and the wool was the prize. All I had to do was to comment. I picked a free pattern, knit it up in my spare time, and I have a new pair of socks to keep my feet warm for many winter to come! ❤❤
I enjoy knitting socks too
Are you on Ravelry? I’m a knitter too. Starting to learn crochet as well. I’ve only knit one sock. One sock syndrome!😀
YAY! Congratulations May!
@@FrugalMoneySaver Thanks Emi! ☺️
My sprinkle of joy his week was that I made a lovely cross out of scrap cardboard. I covered it with some leftover wrapping paper and I glued a carved wooden heart (a broach that had a broken clip) to symbolise the love of Jesus's and His gift to me.
I love it.
Wonderful! That sounds so beautiful!
Love ur style. Similar to mine.
Thank you Carmen!
Emmy, your home is one of the most beautiful, cosy and welcoming that I have ever seen!
I agree!
Thank you so much Sheila! So very kind of you to say!
My sprinkle of joy was picking a beautiful bouquet of daffodils from my flower bed and putting them in my lovely blue and white pitcher which I have had for decades! Absolutely gorgeous and absolutely free!
Love that Lorraine! Just lovely!
My sprinkle of joy was seeing my grandsons.❤ love you and all you and Paul do! 🤗
Tina, Thank you!
So very true! You both blessed each other!! Love that!
Unexpected bouquet of 🌷 🌷 🌷 tulips from a friend was one of my sprinkle of joy this week.
YAY! Toma, that is a lovely one!
What a lovely comment! Thanks for sharing!
the potatoes I bought to sprout are almost ready to plant. Getting some cardboard boxes this saturdaty to plant them . ( a frugal hack from another channel) . Love the joy of your channel
Sounds interesting! Planting potatoes in a box?!? Hope they turn out wonderful!!
Love your dishes!
Thanks so much!
Oh what a wonderful memory! Thank you for sharing! God Bless you and yours as well Lulu!
My Grandma always said to " mind your own garden", in other word, everyone should make their own choices, and who cares what others think. And your right, new items are very cheaply made; give me fifty year old quality!
Your Grandma was a smart woman!
Your choice, your style😄
Pretty much Kathy lol!
I couldn't agree with you guys any more than what I already do. You are so right Emmy! Being grateful for all that we have is a blessing in itself! God bless you both and thanks for sharing! I love it!
God Bless you as well Cynthia and thank you!
----
Then today I volunteered at the pet charity thrift shop and got a little shopping in at the end of my shift. I also made sure I wouldn't over buy because I only had $20 in my purse! .😊 💵 ❤
Janet wonderful finds!! Good for you!!
My sprinkle of joy was that I remembered to get out and go to city hall and vote early. Election Day always creeps up on me and I feel guilty for not participating. Now if only the commercials would go away!
LOL!
I very rarely eat out, but my sprinkle of joy was having lunch today at Cracker Barrel with 2 dear friends that I have not seen in quite a while. I am blessed to have their friendship.
Yes, that is such a wonderful joy!!
My sprinkle of joy was when I went shopping in my
The ice cream truck started to come around this week so this 48 year old was a kid again lol. Vanilla cone with cotton candy sprinkles. It was delicious and a fun treat. Loved the bowls 🌸
I would of been right there with you Melissa lol!
Banana fudge bomb pop...my weakness 😁
My sprinkle of joy this week is seeing robins! I can hear birdsong and the weather is getting a bit warmer. I’m in the snow belt of Michigan so we still have a lot of snow on the ground but spring is coming🪺🌷
I saw my first Robin yesterday and was thrilled we live in the Ann Arbor area
YES! Robins are my favorite bird! They hold the hope of Spring!
Enjoy your treasures and your finds!
Thanks Maria!
My mom and dad always saved for something that they needed. They paid cash, and their purchases were well thought out.
I have the same plant holder and I also use it as a bird bath.❤️
That's wonderful Kim!
Those bowls are lovely!
Thanks so much Sheila!
My sprinkle of joy is watching your videos! You encourage me on my frugal journey!❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad Angie! Thank you!
Found 4 bath mats for $4 at my local Thrift shop.
I was delighted AND also had the most precious long chat with the ladies who volunteer there.😁
Love that! Great find too!
I watched your video where you showed us how to darn a sock, and today I applied that to my favorite shawl that had a hole in it. So happy to be able to wear it again!
YAY! Karin, that makes me so happy!
I love vintage items, so when people get rid of old things, I feel sad for the lost memories. Obviously I then have to collect these beautiful things 😂
LOL! That is the best Julie! I guess I do too!
My sprinkles of joy this week was watching our 2 new baby lambs dancing in the fields and the carton of Mayfield "Whitehouse Cherry Vanilla ice cream I bought. Yum! Great video again :)
Oh my goodness baby lambs...beyond joy!
That is a BIG sprinkle!
YAY! Debra so very happy for you!!
What a wonderful message!
My sprinkles of joy this week was being able to celebrate my aunt's 80th birthday with the family and, of course, working in our cousin's garden while he continues to fight that wicked cancer.
Oh how wonderful 80 years!! So sorry to hear about your cousin, may he win that battle
You are not alone for sure! We are all in this together!
I love seeing your sweet Dixie Belle in your videos. My Labradoodle is Bella Maria and she is almost 13 years old. She brings me such joy.
Aren't our fur babies the best!
Paul,
You could jazz up the bird feeder by spray painting it red or any bright color. Bright colors attract birds.
You two never cease to amaze me! Wonderful words of wisdom for all! My joy comes from being free of being a slave to the constraints of the dollar. I didn't realize how wasteful we were before joining this frugal journey. Thank you so much for everything!!!❤
Thanks for being a part of our family Antoinette!!
@@FrugalMoneySaver it really does feel like family!
My simple joy was my almost 3year old grandson cleaning his mum's bag and giving grandma the 20Rand note he found😂❤...
I kept it since he did it in front of her...
His such a grannies boy.
Excellent video much enjoyed.
Take Care
That is precious!!
Oh hey, 10 minutes from upload.
*grabs coffee*
I agree with the title of the video, keeping it simple. No need for 7 different cleaners for the house when you can just have one all purpose bottle, vinegar/baking-soda, dish detergent (warm soapy water)...
You got that right!
So happy you are part of this community JaneEva! Thank you!
I’ve decluttered my kitchen, cleaning products, clothes, DVDs and books. I have not missed one thing I’ve gotten rid of!
That's so great Gail!
Oh what a wonderful compliment!
I just love you and Paul. You have the best frugal channel. Your contents are wise and practical. I sure never miss your Tuesday and Friday blog.
So kind of you to say Nieves! Thank you!
WOW! How wonderful! I bet the set is so beautiful! Thank you for the kind words as well!
My Easter sprinkle of joy was finding my mom's antique pink tablecloth. Looking forward to dressing the dinner table with it this Easter and bringing back dear memories. Happy Easter one and all!
Oh how wonderful Julie! Avery Happy Easter to you as well, thank you!
We are going on a little vacation next week, and in the past I would have gotten a pedicure because I will be wearing sandals. This time I did my own toes, and nails, and saved over $90+ from not going to the salon. Now we have more money for fun stuff or dinner out.
I bet they came out perfect too! How fun! Enjoy your vacation!!
We use an old direct TV disk for a bird bath.
Elizabeth, I love this idea. Always wondered what to do with those clumsy things.
Brilliant!
Great tips! Love the glue stick idea! Wonderful day with your grand babies too!
"Keep your values close and your purchases close to what you value," is pure genius! I printed it out and pinned it to my wall. Wonderful content, Emmy I'm recommending your channel to everyone I know. Thanks.
Linda that is so kind! Thank you!
So smart to freeze it that way!!
Those bowls are absolutely beautiful! That's my taste as well, I love old fashioned things too❤!
Me too Anne!
I don’t see why so many you tubers say to get rid of things we like or can use. Yes, don’t keep 40 tin pie plates, but a few and a few boxes can come in handy
Exactly Joyce! Everything in moderation!
This week the closure of my tin tea caddy broke. The next day I found a new can for 20 cents in our second hand store.
This store is an enrichment for our small town. Volunteers run it, and besides clothes there are also household goods. All profits are donated to good causes in our community.
Oh how wonderful .20!
Paul
Please put some rocks, stones something into that pie plate. You will get so many more bird's!
They may not see it because it's clear. Also they need something to perch on.. lhey get nervous otherwise.
Great funds!
My Hungarian grandma had soup bows that looked so much like the one's you found! ❣️
She made chicken soup and farina dumplings... Like matzo ball's but to me better! She cooked them in a separate pot of soup, they were huge and soaked up all the broth and flavor...
How I miss it and her of course 🌹
PS
You just gave me my sprinkle of joy by showing those bowl's!
I shared this with Paul! Thanks!
My sprinkle of joy is seeing my carrot seeds have sprouted! These are seeds of multi-coloured carrots, which I really like and are rather expensive to buy.
Oh how wonderful!
I was able to take back some items back to costco n to put the money back on my food stamps...and all and all a friend was very helpful in getting me all around town to do sum errands done...n then we went to sarku japan to get soem good food for ourselves....and then we went back to my apt to enjoy the food....and spend some time together.....
Arthur, that sounds like a very nice day!
@Frugal Money Saver it was. Thanks for my friend who helped me I couldn't of done it without him.
Oh I love those type of days! Good for you!
So precious, Anne! Thanks!
My simple joy was spotting my spinach & lettuce seedlings popping out.
YAY!
Emmy and Paul Prayers are going 🙏 for Everyone
Thank so much Wanda!
I had to downsize due to one of life’s unexpected situations. With the current economic climate in our country I am so glad for unexpected blessings. I live in a cozy home in the woods in the mountains on a small homestead and are so grateful for our family and our home. Your bowls are so you two. ❤
Honda what a wonderful attitude!
I love thrift stores.
Me too!
Oh please stay safe Vicki! We can't plant here in NY until the end of May but we are so ready!!
Your home is beautiful with all your vintage dishes and furniture.
So kind Stephanie! Thank you!
Paul, you may want to put some small stones or marbles in the birdbath for bees and butterflies to drink water safely. They get thirsty too and will drown if the bird bath is too deep for them. Thanks!!
Yes, thanks so very much!
I agree with you, keep it simple. I enjoy the simple pleasures of making bread, or cheese. This week it's been the joy of watching my garden starts grow under the lights. I'm amazed how big they have gotten and look forward to fresh tomatoes, beans, peppers and flowers this year.
Oh yes! We can't wait to start planting!
We had tornados today...I had to grab things fast in case I had a direct hit. After it was over, with minor damage, thanks to God, I realized what was important! My little dog and my husbands urn was all I took...maybe it's smart to think of what we really need.
Oh Tori! Thank God you are safe! So sorry you had that scare!
Fantastic video!
P.S. If you put the water in your foaming bottle first, then add the soap mix...it won't bubble up.
BHAHAHAH! You are absolutely right! I just learned something new today...
Wonderful comment Miz G! Thanks for sharing and watching!
Emmy and Paul Blessings to you both! My sprinkle of joy this week was being able to bless our daughter with a full week of babysitting so she and her husband could take a much needed vacation ! It was actually a blessing to us a full week with one of our grand kids!
Oh what a great blessing that is double sided!! WIN WIN!
My frugal savings this week.
I used a cloth shower curtain for a table cloth on my dining room table. Looks cute and didn't cost a dine. 😊
Brilliant!
Emmy, those bowls are soooo you! Just precious! Good for salads, ice cream, stew, and soup! Great find!
Oh yes! Thanks so much Julie!
My goodness, those are gorgeous!
Carpe Diem
Keep it simple…
What a wonderful Friday video!
💚🍀💚✝️
Oh Alisha how absolutely wonderful! So exciting!! Love that you are going with family too!
Fantastic video! I’m with you, hands down! Vintage items are usually made so much better. Simple is best. Love Dixie Belle enjoying the simple pleasures of the sun sand fresh Spring air ❤️
My sprinkle of joy was enjoying time with my Grandchildren doing simple things. Being present in the moment because I have no money worries because of our frugal journey! Love this lifestyle!!!
So well said Mary! Being present with your Grandchildren...what a blessing!
Oh Emmy I'm so happy you found those lovely bowls! What a wonderful and well-deserved find!
So kind, thank you!
YAY! Congratulations on the teams win! How exciting! I use a sponge and warm soapy water LOL!
My sprinkle of joy is really practical. I needed a wire brush to tackle some rust before painting some outdoor items. It was on my local hardware store list. I cleaned up and organized my shed, and found a wire brush out there!
Yes! Decluttering has many advantages lol!
Sounds great!
