Blaming the fans is literally getting old

@@buraki7 Yup. Too dang dumb to realize that blaming the fans for poor content won't bring them back...or replace their numbers with the mystical "modern audience".
Disney made the HUGE mistake of thinking they were purchasing the name "Star Wars", and that the rights to that were worth billions. It wasn't the name that made it worth money. It wasn't the rights that had some inherent value. It was the fan base that was the value proposition they purchased. Without the avid fanbase willing to spend lots of money on it... the name and rights are worth precisely ZERO dollars.
This is literally 'Economics 101' stuff, yet Disney can't seem to grasp the concept.
It is ancient at this point. This is all that they can do instead of taking responsibility. Then all the bargain bin writers throw them out into the trash and getting some senior writers or some fresh blood that actually cares about the franchise.

I agree they got the audience they wanted. They wanted that "modern audience." Unfortunately for them, they aren't intelligent enough to understand the facts about that "modern audience"... The "modern audience" doesn't actually watch television series or movies. The "modern audience" barely has the attention span to watch a 4 minute video; they don't commit the amount of time required to watch an 8 episode series. And, since they also can't stand committing the amount of time required to work a full-time job, they also don't have the disposable income to spend on merchandise. So, the audience they're chasing, and have largely gained, are spending exactly as much time and money on Disney Wars as anyone who isn't stupid knew they would.

@@FPrimusUnicron Velma was getting 2 seasons to start with since it's an animated show. Rangs of Poo was contractually obligated to do FIVE seasons (I think), and Halo I have no idea how that one worked out.
Since this is Disney, their season contracts are much different than Amazon, HBO, or Paramount. Plenty of Disney shows have not had a second season created, let alone greenlit, so there may yet be hope it just disappears into the aether.
Lesbean headlamp gave the usual waffling about "If I have more story to tell, I'll do it" but if she had real ideas to tease I think she wouldn't have hesitated to mention them.
