- In this video I illustrate three of New Balance's most popular Made in the USA sneakers. I wanted to make this video for those that are new to New Balance or that are simply deciding which one of these they want to buy next. Also, check out the on-feet look of all three.

For me the 992 is comfy but the cushion unit in the forefoot affects the overall comfort. It’s not uncomfortable but you can feel where it starts and ends, and it’s not as smooth a transitions a Nike zoom pod. For me this makes the 990 much more comfy overall, but the 992 looks dope. Love that purple colorway
The metatarsal support insoles are a nice addition to these shoes too. The ortholites that come standard feel good too.

This video was just what I needed! You have now got me sold on the 992 being my choice. I don’t know too many people rocking NB’s or in specifically the dad shoe style, but the 992 hits it right. It’s got a hint of the Blanciaga chunky sole tapered to slim upper. The circular layering and use of lots of suede adds a lot of character. The little ‘N’ for me is much nicer than the big ‘N’.

I've been rocking the 993 Grey moreso than my other pairs. I just find it very straightforward and isn't as mainstream or hype-driven as the 990v5 and 992. I have all three models but the 993 has won me over.

awesome video mate, really good comparison I thought. Initially, I didn't think the 990v5 would look good on foot, but man was I wrong!! They look DOPE on foot and I'm so glad I gave them a chance. comfortable af and the tongue sits nice and high like oldskool sneakers so I didn't think dad shoe at all once I put them on.

The 990 series is an iconic silhouette in the DMV area. I’m from DC and been wearing them/new balance since I was a baby (90’s)... 991’s or the 992’s might be my favorite.. but I love the 990 v5’s

Nice comparison video, man! But I’ll go for the 993s because it looks much the same as the 990v3s and those are the best 990s in my opinion. Maybe you could do all the 990s comparison. And if you could also do reviews on some collabs like the 990v3 JJJJound, the 992 JJJJound/WTAPS, the ALD collabs, and the Kiths

Very true about the 990v3. I've had them for over 5 years now and they are so well broken in/comfortable and ultra durable and they're my daily shoes. I don't feel the same about the 992 and had them for about 3 years. My girl just got me 993s so hopefully they'll be like my 990v3s.
I'm a sneakerhead with a decent collection, I recently had foot problems and have to wear orthotic insoles needless to say the insoles make most of my sneakers too tight or uncomfortable so my doctor told me I should get sneakers in a wider width, he suggested new balance or Asics. I immediately went to new balance store and copped a 990v5 4e (Xtra wide) in grey and a 993 4e in indigo color way and after rocking both on and off for about a week I returned the 993 pair and kept the 990v5 it's just a comfier and better looking sneaker imo and any collab or 992 online doesn't come in wide sizes so makes the choice easier for me lol the 990v5 is my daily driver now and honestly I'm not mad at the aesthetic and style of the shoe

Bro that is so me rn I’m having foot problems I currently suffer from foot drop and I need to wear a foot brace and I haven’t found a right shoe to cop because since I always wore J1& dunks they was to tight . So like u mention my DR to said get new balances . And rn I’m seeing the new balances 993 indigo vintage on they site and idk which width to select I do need a wider shoe but what’s the main difference from like the widths . From “ standard, wide , x-wide ) I really like toe indigo 993 just don’t know which width would be better either the “ wide or the x-wide”
Also in sizing what should I get I’m usually a 9 in Jordan’s and dunks . Would a 10 be better I do want a roomy and wider shoe

i am UK10. When i buy USA made NB, i normally go 1/2 size bigger (US11/Uk10.5) and if i buy regular NBs or UK made ones, i buy UK10 . I have 990,993 and 992 and they are all UK10.5 - Perfect!

ever since I found out they have the made in USA Line, I have only bought NB now. I love wearing the 990 and 992 the most...but he 993 I like just as much just prefer the models of the others more. USA made only for me!

Resale on them went down to low 200s. Several boutiques have dropped them here and there recently.
I got some 992s and they are so fucking comfortable. I personally liked the look more, they look like some Balenciagas.

@debra Lopez I haven’t reviewed any of the newest New Balance running sneakers, which are probably going to be better than these because they have the latest running technology. But if you’re interested in these that I reviewed, you really can’t go wrong with neither. I would say that the 990v5 is the newer of the 3, so the cushioning system is newer. Also, check the 2002R.
I wasnt able to get 990. I did see new shoes released soon. The 990 felt stiff. Guy at store gave me wide. I was ? . Wide was very bulk!! Rep from N B suggested higher number shoe. Hopefully I can get a pair soon. I need good support for all of the foot. Talked with Orthopedic Dr who wants to know what pair I get. I told him to research N B site. I wanted to try on Kawaii Lenord shoes for women told not in my size. Guy doesn't know my size. I was w h a t? I do not plan on running just need good support. I look forward to your next videos!!

Hey, what is the style code of the 992s you have. On goat and flight club, there are 2 listings that look identical. But they have different style codes, different release dates and prices are different. One says purple/gray and one says maroon/gray.
I don’t have them because the size was too big. But I believe they’re M992BA
You're %100 correct. if you are new to NB and want a quality sneaker, the 990v5 is definitely cheaper and sometimes can? be found on sale.

Welp this video helped me finally decide on the 990V5, it's got an all black version which I could definitely use for work. I'll probably get a 993 later down the road to have more variety, definitely like that all grey color as well

Are you sure about the Nduranc?. On the website the only sneaker saying it has Ndurance is the 993 and a running shoe blog claimed the 990s definitely did not have Ndurance .

Is the 990 V5 normal version wider than other brands like Nike, Adidas, etc.? I have a bit wide foot so I just wondering should I go up to the wide version.
It's hard to say, but they do run a bit bigger. Plus they do have other fitting options as well.
990v5 has Encap which is older on paper but it had been completely redesigned for the v5 which makes it a newer tech than 992 and 993 :)

I suggest going a half size down from your normal size 11. Especially, if you want a TTS fit. I did make another video on the 992, in which I went a half size down and they fit perfect. Thanks for your feedback!

I find with nb, s that your Normal size is too big and a half size down would be a better fit usually. But quality and comfort /cushioning always good. 👍

I really wish to get some help here, a couple of weeks I have bought a 990v4 on my usual size, 9.5us and they run huge, I mean half or full size bigger, I am about to get a 993's but I'd like to know the fitting, I prefer a snug fit rather than a lose one, so can anybody help me with the sizing? thanks

I purchased the 990 v5 but were tight on the toe in size 10.5 regular should I go to 11 or 10.5 wide, or 11 wide?
If you have really wide feet go with the wide if not go with the 11.
Prefer the cleaner 993 look over the 992. Are they equal in comfort?
Honestly yeah. It’ll be splitting hairs to say which one is better than the other comfort wise.

I currently don’t own a 991, but my experience with any NB in the 99X line is that they run a bit bigger. So for the most part I’ve bought them a .5 size smaller.
Hey there, I actually do own a 991 made in UK and they are at my feet at the moment. I’d say you can easily go a half size bigger with these. Also, they look way more chunkier than 990v5 just like 992 & 993 due to the look of their soles.
edit: I saw a comment like mine below, I think made in uk shoes run a little smaller compared to usa ones. I will be getting a 990v5 soon so will see how it turns out.

They're all great. The 990v5 is gonna be the one I stick with because there's no hype around them, so I can wear them every day without worrying about stuff like resale value or having to pay above retail for another pair, they're still gonna get the nod from the sneakerhead crowd, and they're still gonna be the most comfortable shoe I own.

The grey ones were through GOAT and the purple one through New Balance. I was able to pick up the Gap Year through NB as well.
