Thanks so much for this reset tip. The GPS had me 30 miles from my whatever location I was sitting. Did the reset. Turned off my Cherokee for 10 plus minutes and back to normal. I will be doing a U-Connect update too!

So, the soft reset did work for you? I tried with my 2018 Compass Trailhawk, but I didn't wait 10 minutes. With only 18k miles, this is ridiculous. I've never been happy with this Jeep. I loved my 07 Nissan Murano. Sorry I didn't fix that up instead.

So we tried both trying to reset our 2018 dodge ram 3500 and neither works. Our original radio we had also was replaced for not working. We are locked out of everything except climate and controls.

I’m not sure. Someone did mention a fuse reset but I haven’t done the video yet!
@@thedetailhotlap i switched off the car completely for a prolonged period of time (6-8hours) and screen now works perfectly normal for a few days now. I think it was just a random temp. Glitch. Owned this car since 2017. Never faced any issues except this 1 time screen bug but its fixed. Just sharing what did it for me. Just switched off car for hours.
My mechanic tried rebooting the touchscreen and nothing. He worked at a Jeep dealership. My 2018 Jeep Compass just turned 18k and the screen/ head unit needs to be replaced already. It will cost almost $1,600 to replace. I'm trading in this Jeep for a Nissan. Utter bs! Never had these problems with my Nissan Murano that had 100k miles on it.

I dont normally comment but you saved me from having to go to dealer! 2023 Jeep Gladiator, uconnect was recognizing and charging my phone but carplay wouldnt initiate. Hit and held the browse and power button like you said (browse slightly before the power button) while in accessory and it soft reset, now carplay works again!
Could you show me how you did it? I have the same problem on my Jeep Compass, I try to do it and nothing happens.
Exactly as he does in the video. I hit those two buttons ensuring browse button hit just before power button and held for like 30 seconds. Screen flashed “Jeep” and it was reset. I turned the car to off, opened and closed it. Then started the car and it was working

I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee and I was hoping a soft reset would help my GPS issues and for whatever reason holding the volume/tuner knob at the same time does not soft reset it. I’ve tried at least 100 times and the second they’re pressed in the screen immediately goes off as if I’ve only pressed the screen off button where every video I’ve seen the display stays on while holding buttons until it resets
I’ve even tried the process with the screen off so that it turns on when pressing those in and no matter how long its held no reboot/no change
interesting, looks like you have the same issue I have with the GPS. Uconnect software is a failed system.
@@thedetailhotlap so I did figure something out as to why mine won’t soft reboot with these instructions and I feel a bit dumb for not noticing earlier. The volume knob in this video has the volume symbol with the slash through it to symbolize “mute” whereas my 2018 GC has the power symbol on the volume knob so that would explain why the screen instantly goes black when I attempt that instead of staying on for the 10 seconds before the screen goes black
I have a 2018 as well. It just turned off. My uconnect randomly hits buttons so it’s hard to do anything with it. Can anyone recommend a quick fix. I don’t want to contact Jeep. Or does anyone know if this is a recall issue?

Apparently the left button on our JGK is the “off” button and shuts it off and will not reboot. I don’t know how to fix that though

I just disconnected my ground wire and let it set for 30 mins. It reset my entire car. I didn't have many settings, so I didn't lose much. But everything is back up and running. For now.

My grand Cherokee 2015 does the same thing, sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes for the damn thing to start, any advice?
Happens to me all the time - when a soft reset doesn't work, try this - Leave the vehicle running with uconnect on, it must be on when you pull the fuse, open the engine hood and fuse box cover (comes apart easily), pull the fuse with the built in fuse pulling tool (yellow tool snapped into place) its labeled "radio" slot 97 on jeeps - it is a yellow 20 amp fuse - verify first for your make and model on the circuit directory, let it sit for 30 seconds after you remove the fuse, put the fuse back in, should work.

I couldn’t find the particular fuse you’re speaking of. Slot 97 is designated to the heated steering wheel on my vehicle. I’ve read on other forums of a fuse box under one of the seats. Could this be helpful?

2018 Promaster City van with a Uconnect 3. blank screen wont turn on. pulled radio fuse, it was fine, but now I get "Software Update. Update in progress . Please do not remove USB Device". I tried both ways to reset .. neither work. disconnected battery for an hour - did not work. I can't find a file online to try to update with USB.

THIS DOESN'T WORK. Jeep Compass 2019, Panasonic 8.4. Pressing volume and tune just turns the display off at once. I found an instruction for hard reset to press up and down temperature simultaneously. But in my car, this doesn't work too. It just starts heating. Where to find the solution?

I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my display/system has gone haywire.. It keeps changing the radio bands. It looks like somebody is pressing the FM, AM, SiriusXM buttons and switching between the different bands about every 2 seconds but nobody is actually touching it. It's driving me absolutely crazy! Any ideas?

@@Stevel_ I ended up taking it to the dealer and thankfully it was covered by the extended warranty. They changed the screen out and put a new one in there. Of course it works fine now! But that sucked!

Idk if this is just a coincidence, but I’ve been having the same issue for over a week, knew I wasn’t going to take it to the dealer just so they can charge me $250 for just a diagnosis. I bought a $20 Bluetooth thing on Amazon, connected it to the cigarette lighter in my car and instantly my Bluetooth in my car started working. The button for “phone/Bluetooth” started working again. I think maybe connecting the new Bluetooth thing reset the system in my car.

I’m running into an issue, I was on a call driving home using CarPlay via USB-C cable and out of nowhere CarPlay stopped working. The radio doesn’t work either. The touch screen works just fine. I tried doing the reset you showed but it’s saying it can’t be powered off while on a phone call, which doesn’t make sense because I unplugged the cable and not using it. It also doesn’t turn off when I turn the car off, I have to press the button to turn off the screen. Any ideas? Was thinking maybe disconnecting and reconnecting my battery, but if there’s something else I could do, that would be greatly appreciated.
