I read that recently the demand for badger is greater than its supply, so reputable makers are now giving more time to synthetics. Brands like Muhle & Edwin Jagger have fairly new ones out. I have never used a genuine silvertip brush, but I recently purchased EJs synthetic & it blows my previous brush away. It too was a synthetic & while both are really soft the EJ 's heat & water retention were leaps & bounds better.
Hi Mantic, Firstly I'd like to say a big thanks for all these tutorials they've been a great help over the last 6 months. Until now I've been tinkering about with an old boar brush and I'm ready to invest in my first badger brush. Face lathering is my preferred method and given that badger brushes have more variables than boar brushes, can you advise me on what to consider when choosing the best brush for this method
No super, no fine - buy BOAR. I have boar and everyone say: "ow, badger is so cool, so mild, so gentle". I bought silvertip Kozlowski and what? It is milder than boar but difference isnt so big and for me its much less comfortable doing lather and apply to face. Brush flatten out on face and i cant apply lather. For me boar is the best.
Thanks for the advice I picked up a Simpsons duke 2 in best badger the other day, it works perfectly

I stumbled on this brush and actually like it. Cost me under $20 for two when I bought them from Amazon. Perfecto 100% Pure Badger Shaving Brush

Bristles tend to fall out of a new brush. It should stop after a few uses.

Simpson's Special for $29.99...you may never need another brush....
我在中国反而买不到,真是无奈。
I feel like a badger hair brush is more badass because its not easy to kill a badger. Honey badger don't care!
Honey badger dont give a shit
