Headed in the right direction for sure! I know this will be a popular feature for man customers , but I still prefer to enter all the info into the FMC manually.
For me this is the best purchase I've made on this simulator, it's a fantastic aircraft, it flies great, it takes off and lands perfectly, it taxis, very well and most importantly it has little impact on fps.
The only thing is that I would like to hear a little louder the noise of the engines as they shut down and rev down from inside the cockpit.

In regards to the engine noise during shutdown, it really is that quiet in the real plane. In the passenger cabin things sound different, in the cockpit the engine noise is mostly hidden behind the air conditioning, avionics and cooling sounds.
I really hope the 777 comes out soon, now that I have a new pc and finally can fly to JFK stutter free.. looking forward to SWISS ops

Did you tried any long haul with 787 or 747 over north pole, I tried doing OTHH to KSEA recently in 787-9, when I reached near North pole might be above 87-88 degree latitude, then ND was not showing next waypoints properly, might be some calculation issue with sim or aircraft, resulting to 0fps, finally I have to close the sim using task manager
@@sanket007hzbif I would have known upon initial release. I'd buy the deluxe msfs2020 cuz there is no way of using any version of the 787 unless you buy the simulator again... I hate how this is since there are no good wide-bodies out right now unless you got the deluxe version. I really hope the 777 is soon to release

This is a great step in the right direction! I hope that within a few months the 737 EFB will be updated to resemble that of the Fenix A320 as much as possible. Having all the management of ground equipment, fuel and weights in the tablet is more intuitive than having it in the FMC (which however must have an uplink function like the one brought in this update). Clearly it is unrealistic to control certain things from the tablet (in the same extent to which it is unrealistic to control certain features from the FMC) but we are on MSFS, certain compromises have to be made, and we might as well make them convenient for the final user.
I hate the fact that Fenix tablet wants you to insert the landing weight for landing performance calculations or viceversa the zfw must be inserted manually into the fms
Great stuff, what would be great for fuel and payload is instead of setting it, you can request on load, so the fuel truck comes and the passengers weight loads as if they are boarding passengers and loading bags.
Impressed with this update.

Great update! For some reason though my FMC locks up after clicking the "Select Rte" button after the Simbrief upload.
Coming from the fenix a320, Ive personally been very impressed with PMDG. I know there are haters out there, but they have released an amazing lineup of Boeing aircraft, and more on the way. The UFT is a source of frustration for many, but again I see it as a growth process for PMDG and an indication of future growth in the sim. The UFT needs a lot of work still, and more functionality, but I am happy to fly the plane as is right now.
The problem with PMDG is simply their attitude. The 737 is a port of the P3d version and for MSFS their outside model does not come close to even some freeware developers. The other issue i have is is almost 400.00 for lineup of their aircraft which is way to steep.

Total is $260 without any sale. I certainly cant compare them to other simulators, but within MSFS they seem to be fairly complete in both graphics and systems. Im pretty new to all of this, so maybe I dont have any history to skew my opinion (I dont mean that in a negative way, just a statement). Ive seen other devs do some things that were questionable from my perspective, like Simworks Studios as an example. Constantly make release statements that simply dont happen, as well as waiting until late in the game to let everyone know that the pc-12 wont have failures upon release. My only point of bringing up SWS is they have had a terrible attitude on their FB page and comments within youtube.
Im from Canada so its roughly 350 Canadian dollars plus tax brings it to around 400.00. Its simply alot for a addon. Take fenix for example base a320 was 49.99 and a321 and 319 are a 20.00 addon. You get the complete airbus narrowbody line up for the price of 1 PMDG 737. PMDG has also been horrible in customer support an there was some issues there also. Im not saying PMDG is a bad product its a fairly accurate 737 BUT the issue i do have is that people will never call out PMDG when things are not at the standard of MSFS and are buying into the " well the systems are great" if you look at the texturing compared to even FBW , PMDG lacks behind big time. PMDG claimed oh its a new model, when its a port from P3D. You can tell by them using normal maps. A great example is the wings lights an landing lights. They are simply just 4k images and not even modled. Landing gear bay door and so on are not complete. There is a ton wrong with it. Yet people are paying the premium price tag for the name.

@@alexberezovsky760 ….Ive noticed that a lot of dev teams have an attitude actually. Maybe that we are dealing with programmers and not customers service professionals. Simworks has had some major attitude toward criticism, Aerosoft has been extremely “mouthy” in the forum when customers express having issues, PMDG has certainly displayed some off-putting behavior, FS DreamTeam have been downright nasty on forums about GSX issues. These are just to name a few. Its an interesting observation to say the least

To be fair, you could load your simbrief route from the beginning on. I've already done a video on why just importing your simbrief weight is unrealistic, but simmers still seem to want that "two click solution".
@@A330DriverTo be honest, almost every type of operation in MSFS has to have a hint of unrealism.
First of all, generally a simmer is alone while normally a pilot is not, first of all for the other guy in the cockpit but he is not alone in everything that surrounds the plane. Therefore having certain features convenient in the EFB for managing simbrief, weights, fuel and ground equipment is in my opinion the best option.
This way it is possible to make the FMC as close as possible to the real one. I don't think it's very real to manage the equipment that the plane has from there, right? Not even inserting a certain amount of fuel that magically materializes in the tanks is.
So I genuinely don't understand this talk of "it's not realistic" to do X from the EFB, when at the current stage it is already unrealistically done, just by the FMC.
This is my opinion of course, not necessarily correct but I think the way the flightplan is imported into the EFB (weights, fuel, route etc) in the Fenix A320 is ideal. All the unrealistic part stops there, on the tablet. You have to wait some time for the aircraft to be loaded and fueled, you have to wait for the final loadsheet for the correct weights, the route is loaded via uplink. The avionics part is thus as "intact" as possible (or should be). Ditto for GPU management and everything else.
I would still prefer to use the FMC to load fuel and payload, as the loading time is realistic and not instant.
I'm with you on that one, a realistic time option would be nice.
I have to agree. This new update cuts out all the efforts they made with the fuel truck and passenger loading. It would be so nice to send the fuel and payload data to automatically populate the ground services menus, and perhaps even start them so that you’re not having to jump around the ground services menus.

I think you mean that you'd like to decouple the FMC programming component from the actual loadout? That would be an interesting challenge for the developer for sure.

Only one remark that is with the correct aircraft configuration I found Simbrief always very accurate and better than the embedded FMC as the latter does not take cruising winds into account to calculate best level.

Thanks Emanuel for another very enlightening progress report ... all good stuff... will be trying out the updated FMC later today but in the meantime wondering if the values in the updated FMC will now be the same as those in VPT given both import their data from Simbrief? Perhaps a subject for another presentation, if for any reason, adjustments need to be made anywhere?
Unfortunately: 738 ENBR to ESGG. When hitting SELECT RTE virtual cockpit completely freezes. SIM is working but all switches are frozen. Tried 4 times with PC reboots

Re the Marketplace and delays in getting updates out. I've thought for some time that Asobo/Microsoft should have an 'approved/trusted developer' list for whom the testing and update release procedure should be streamlined.
I fully agree, their current delays are laughable. If PMDG would submit their updates in the same sequence as they release them to public there would probably never be any release at all as Asobo can't keep up.

How did you get the passengers to walk to the terminal? In GSX no matter where you park, with stairs you get a passenger bus.
You need to make a GSX Profile or just download a profile if you want passengers walking from/to the terminal. I'd just search for for an airport profile just like this: ENGM GSX Profile. I don't like to create profiles for myself, so I'm really greatful for the people that actually take their times and creating those profiles.
As a LittleNavmap user hope to see intergration for that in the near future. Still switching the tablet to off.
Why do you prefer LNM over simbrief?
@@A330Driver perfect piece of sw for all my flights, including GA. Using it for years and I don't see the benefits of Sim Brief combined with a payed Navigraph subscription.
Even the callsign is imported 🎉 Only issue is GSX is now also setting the fuel and payload values in the CDU when requesting boarding and refueling. (Since a recent update). Would be nice if Umberto gave us a setting to disable this feature in GSX now the PMDG already does it.
Umberto is overstepping the boundaries of what he is allowed to do with the PMDG SDK ever since he started pressing FMC buttons. No surprise it's eventually backfiring on him.
I might be mistaken, but thought gsx only updates the fmc in the pmdg if you press the simbrief green box within the gsx menu?
@@zk9058 The green box just means GSX refreshed your simbrief flight plan. I guess we could remove our simbrief alias to prevent GSX from doing anything in the CDU, but iirc we’d get a very short boarding without simbrief data.
I discovered the new uplinking feature last night. Very handy when you want quick setup.
While I’m thinking about it, how do you open the EFB in a pop up window that I can move to another screen? One post in the PMDG forum said to click along the top of the EFB screen. Another one said to right click on the Mic button on the dash. Neither of these work. Thank you!
By holding RIGHT ALT + LEFT CLICKING some instrumentation panels, these panels will pop out as floating windows that can be moved to a different screen location or different monitor.

I have just loaded the new update and everything works as you have demonstrated, however, the actual passenger numbers and cargo weights are not what is created in simbrief. They seem to be completly different and random and don't match. I assume that the FMC is still calculating all the correct takeoff figures based on these random figures. Maybe this will be sorted out in the future.
Simbrief assumes 100kg per passenger (they don't differentiate between pax weight and luggage weight), while PMDG uses a more realistic number (86 I believe and that includes both pax and their luggage). That means there will necessarily be a difference between simbrief and PMDG.

Any idea how it integrates with GSX since that just recently started entering the fuel automatically through the FMC. Little confused on the order I should do things to get everything running smoothly now.
GSX oversteps the boundary of what PMDGs SDK allows them to do and hacks into the FMC ever since they first started pressing its buttons. So yeah, they won't work well together. GSX will simply overwrite what the EFB inserted.

Regarding the route that was actually the case since the first release of the EFB. Once imported it would send the route to the FMC if you requested an uplink.

Good video, thank you. I have two questions left: 1) does importing Simbrief information mean that the fuel weight and payload weight is added instantly? So that the fuel loading with a truck and the loading of the passengers and cargo is not needed anymore? Because if so, that would be a pity for me personally. 2) Did PMDG give any information about when they are going to make the cockpit door open and close? I would like that also very much. I'm afraid I don't have answers to either of the two questions, sorry.
Currently it's an instant load of the passengers and fuel. Back in the beta the real time automatic loading had to be disabled due to an MSFS issue. Not sure if that's fixed by now, in any case the real time automatic loading has not been returned to the plane yet, but only the manual option.

@@A330Driver The common vnav, the fmc which in the pmdg is the old one, the weather radar that’s not already been fixed with Asobo, the failure management system which on my opinion should include more failures and should enable the possibility to set a speed and or a time do start the failure. Those are on my opinion the things that should be implemented and improved.
@@michelevannini1329 The plane already has common VNAV. Developing a new FMC version would essentially make it a new product, I'm pretty sure that won't happen with any free updates. There's a good reason why there is not a single MSFS addon out there which features an up to date FMC, unfortunately money is one of them. Weather radar simply can't be done with the present API. Asobo needs to provide more data which they refuse.
The failures are limited by Boeings license so it's not possible to do more. Not sure if it affects the triggers for those failures as well, that's be a good idea to write PMDG about.
I updated my 737 in the ops center to 3.0.85 but I can import it into the efb but when I want to put it into the fmc, there is no simbrief option. Also, my flight tablet is showing version 1.1.1, not 1.4.0, can someone help. thanks

No, it won't. Since flight crews typically decide on their fuel before starting their preflight procedures it is considered that a fuel decision may already have been made and entered another way into the plane.

I have a problem after this update, after I go to crush select rte the plane freezes and I can't crush anything else.

One question is Simbrief seems to always add more cargo then what say Southwest normally carriers. With the ipad and simbrief fuel I have run into an overweight landing situation twice now.
Has this happened to anyone else or am I doing something wrong?

Create a custom simbrief profile with a lower max cargo limit. Simbrief doesn't know what SWA does unless you tell it.
simbriefs weights are not realistic. It assumes 23kg of luggage per passenger. The reality is much less though.

FREEZING FMC!
Dear Emanuel. Problem with UFT and FMC since last update:
When using the UFT and using the new functions in FMC e.g. SET FUEL and SET PAYLOAD the datas are importet into the FMC - but:
The FMC is completely freezing! and so all the switches in my cockpit! Nothing works anymore also after waiting for minutes. So I have to leave the flight and restart it. All the views are working but not the FMC and the cockpit itself!

One of my favorite recent flight sim moments this year was when simbrief went down unexpectedly for 24 hours.
You could really see how the number of 737s on VATSIM increased drastically while the number of A320s went down just as much. People simply didn't know how to program their FMCs in the Airbus anymore because they were overrelyant on just hitting the request button and that's it.

any idea why i cant get the simbrief route to show up, everything is up to date I follow the steps import flightplan from simbrief to EFB but it doesnt give me the option on the FMC of import from simbrief??
I am puzzled by your comments on simbrief cruise altitude. I've always found sb sends me straight to optimum altitude which agrees to what the plane says? (This is for jets other than PMDG).
Try for example a departure to the south from Frankfurt, SimBrief will limit you to FL270 initially. The real world limit would be 310, but ATC will basically always clear you higher anyway. Therefore as pilots we would enter the higher cruise level we really expect into the FMC.
Was the brake issue fixed? Whenever I come to a stop after landing The brakes won't release unless I apply full throttle and they let go? I read other have the same problem.
Very informative video (as always😊) A question not related to this update, but about the video. Passengers, I asume GSX, are walking from another airplane. How do you mange that?
Thanks! They're part of the scenery. It's Aerosofts Bonaire scenery (TNCB), the plane and passengers are included of the scenery. GSX can't do this with static planes as far as I know.

@737NGDriver Quick question. If your SimBrief OFP uses KGS, but the aircraft you’re in uses LBS, or vice versa, will the aircraft automatically convert between the two units when importing the OFP data?

If I want to take off from a runway that has a length of 4000m, but I want to do an intersection takeoff from a runway entry that is 350 meters away from the runway end, how do I have to enter the take off shift?
Do I have to enter 350?
Or do I need to enter the value 3650?

Hi, as long as GPS is available you don't need to enter a TO Shift at all. The *only* function it's used for is an IRS position update when TOGA is pressed, otherwise it has no effect. Since GPS position updates are availbale the GPS will have overriding authority over the takeoff position update though.
In five years on the 737 I never touched that feature indeed.
For that reason I don't even remember how to enter it in the 737.
In the A330 we enter it more regularly, though the same applies as I've said above.
In the A330 you enter the shortening from the departure end of runway, so in your case 350.

When I hit the flight plan request, without typing anything else in, I simply do not have the simbrief option. I have both Simbrief and Navigraph, including subscription. When I load into the 737 cockpit, I can easily load simbrief into the UFT, but have no option to load into the FMS.
Just noticed that Navigraph shows a different process for getting SimBrief into the FMC. They show to enter origination and destination icao into the CO Route prior to selecting flt plan.
Just try to introduce the flight ORIGIN first in the mcdu, then click on flight plan request. I had the same problem and now it works.
why is the flightplan for a B788 though?
I flew the 737 700 yesterday and the EFB wasnt even there, there was massive performance spikes cause stutters every 15 secs, and after takeoff the wings were viabrating from rapid wing flex. Never seen it in a worse state !! Hope this fixes it
You need to enable the EFB on the FMC as per instructions except if you bought it via the maketplace, in that case yea... you wont get it today. The stutters and performance is something related to your own system.
@@TypicalDutchSaysHi a 13700k and 3090 is plenty of horsepower, there was something buggy with this plane, ini320n was fine the flight before. I did look in FMC under plane settings but couldnt see it. Do you know what menu its under?

Can't say anything useful about performance only that I do not experience such issues (4070ti)

We currently do not have any open bug reports about this spiking, so it is not something other users see at this moment.

Then you probably haven't linked your tablet with simbrief?
It's working now I had to uninstall all my aircraft plus the PMDG Ops center to get the updated version of the flight tablet.

I have the 737-900 and when I click on request flight plan the simbrief route comes up but with the -800 it doesnt. Any help available with this?

Hey guys....Can anyone help? I have all my Simbreif details set in the tablet and it syncs my flight plan no problem, As soon as i select RTE in the fmc the PMDG itself locks up cant push anything...The sim itself is fine tho, Does anyone know whats going on?
Nice feature!! Question: when I go to the route page, I get “Datalink Fail” message. Before go to the FMC I load the simbrief flight in the tablet. Do you know how to solve it?
Is DATA tuned in COM3?
I had the same problem, but I found out that it only happened when I was running on the battery, not on the ground power unit.

I just downloaded this crappy update but once i select the Simbrief flight plan in the fms cant click any button or dial on the airplane, i dont know whats going on but how can i go back to the prior version, i dont want this update if is bringing problems that weren't there

For some reason my simbrief route doesnt always show up in the mcdu. It seems to happen randomly. Any input?
I think it depends on wether you are running on the plane's battery or on the ground power. I had the same problem, choose the second option.
Apart from that, I found that you need to introduce your flight ORIGIN prior to clicking on FLT PLAN - REQUEST.

Hi, the reason I haven't done that with the FBW Airbus is not something like "is freeware below you" as you said. The reason is that if I checked even the most amazing freeware against a real world standard we would without question end up with loads of bugs. Even the (totally amazing!) zibo 737 I quickly broke on my first flight with it.
I would find it unfair towards those developers to take apart the planes. FlyByWire, Zibo, Headwind, etc. are really good aircraft. It would be unfair to take them apart like that.
@@A330Driver the ini A320 is a free aircraft, you tested it and found a myriad of bugs. You've made numerous videos on the Zibo that were useful to a lot of people, so I don't understand your excuse. I don't know how it's unfair to take them apart, that's the entire point. The devs are working hard to produce a real world standard, what could be possibly be wrong with identifying the flaws that they need working on? You do it for payware devs
Not to mention a lot of other real pilots have done deep dives on the FBW as-well as many other freeware, all except for yourself. You're excuses don't add up.
@@TheSAfreak The iniBuilds A320 is not a free aircraft. It will be included with the base sim you paid for. The difference is simply the direction of the flow of money. In case of the ini A320 the money went from you to Microsoft on to iniBuilds. It's still a payware aircraft, just that MS pays for it and you already paid for it by buying the sim itself.
But I tell you what: I can't be bothered to argue with a guy who keeps calling me coming up with "excuses". Buy a first class membership and you got a video request opportunity. Otherwise start working on your tone mate if you want people to do something for free for you.

When are they going to include payload and fueling. I mean even in its current form the tablet is smooth to use and functions well but it's a little laughable that you can't do configurations on the tablet. I think they spent too many resources trying to create an app environment within the sim that they plan on selling to other developers and possibly charge to consumers. Anyway any dev news is good news. I love the 737
I've got a question. I play MSFS 2020 on Xbox, and I'm thinking about switching to PC to make my flying more realistic. I bought the PMDG 737-800 from the marketplace on Xbox, and I'm wondering if I make the switch to PC, will I be able to update the 737 to have the EFB if I bought the aircraft when I was on Xbox and I bought from the marketplace?
Hi, im not too much into Xbox and the happenings around it, so my answer may not be accurate. However I *believe* you will be able to download the standard marketplace version for PC, which at this point does contain the UFT.
If you want to be certain please submit a support ticket with PMDG directly.

No. You never did though, just look at my livestreams where I flew multiple sectors, I always created the flightplans "on the fly".

I did not realize how much PMDG fan boys are sitting here and praising something that to me is not even worth a video update. So they fixed some glitches and some imports... wow.... PMDG has fallen behind big time in development. Sure their systmes are great but compared to other developers.. Pmdg is just ourdate.
If so many are so happy and you're among the few who are not, perhabs that's an indication that your percieved reality does not match actual reality.
