I'm running 03 Cobra R's 17x9 all around with 245/40/ZR17's on my 88 gt. Only time anything rubs is when I happen to hit a pothole that I didn't see,then the fronts just get a slight scuff mark on the outside of the tire. I like this setup, because I can still rotate them for slightly longer life. Really like both the retro fox and the calypso! Keep on foxing around ya'll! 👍👍
I wouldn’t consider myself a “hater”, as I like the look you’ve achieved there. In all the years and Foxes I experimented with however, I never found anything larger than 17 with a ride quality that was as good as the various 17s I’ve used.
Yea im not a hater either looks wise I think they're great but ride wise and performance wise I prefer smaller wheels with beefy tires like he used to run on it. The drag pack look because it's the lightest and hooks best and rides best and it also looks pretty damn cool too imo. 18s look wicked as well but don't ride or perform as good (unless you're building a car for the twisties and don't care as much about straight line stuff by all means go 18).
Btw... I still have all 6 shocks and no rubbing.. I do have lowering Springs and pan-hard bar absolutely no problems or issues with getting them on my 86 Saleen Tribute.. 4 eye 4or life!!!!
I just did fitment on Bilstein quad shocks on my 93 LX with J&M Jackers and SVE 10”x17” 5 lug Pony’s and they where biting the tire in normal installation and reversed installation. Others say quads aren’t necessary when tubular lower control bars are utilized. That quads counter wheel hop in stock lower control arms. I’ll have to post a video when my 5 lug conversion is done.
Brew, with those wheels Calypso looks like a totally different car. Just when I didn't think you could make an already awesome car look any better you knocked it out of the park. What kind of tire shine is that? Love it!

These wheels with the rivets are 🔥 🔥🔥 I really like those gold mesh wheels on the retro but these too! Also let me just say the retro is my favorite car. I enjoy them both I’m just a red fan, and a supercharger fan. But both very nice cars! Keep up the great content

Love the 18” Saleen reps on my ‘93 Cobra - same sizing as yours. And definitely not the cheapest solution but another option is to run a panhard bar instead of quad shocks - have the MM setup with torque arm and it really plants the rear end.
Also running, eibach 2" lowering springs all around and tokico blue shocks and struts. Handles way better than stock, even with almost 300,000 km's on it. Also installed new quad shocks at the same time as the rest of the suspension system. Simple, fun, daily in summer when not raining too much.
I like the old school deep dish look, like the old hammers! I'm wondering what the car or any foxbody would look like with the deep dish front and back? I doubt it would work on the front being 10 inches wide, im just curious what it would like! I think it would look sick!!
I don't get too many haters with my set up. 19 x 8.5 with 245 35 19, front, and 19 x 10.5 with 275 30 19. Wheels are KMC district's, I like them. I also have a set of 17x9 bullets I like with 245 45 17s. To each their own.
Thanks for telling people about the quad shocks. Bought my car PO had removed them long story short got on it and changed lanes by accident went home and ordered been great ever since. Edit also those wheels do look dope AF!

I wanted them wheels with the rivets. By the time I was getting ready to order them they stop making them. So I got the 17's silver regular and still love them.
Love the Saleen SC style wheels just got some for my car a month ago but I got the ones with the black star and machined finished lip in the 17’s they really set the car with style and stance.

I flipped the quad with these wheel and I’m still rubbing any other option instead of removing the quad shock also replace the rear shock and springs with the SVE springs 1.2 and 1 inch drop. Also the grease cover on the front wheels without spacer pushes out the SVE wheel cover.

I have the same size up front BUT I’m running a 285 40 R18 in the back on a 9.5” wheel. Mine doesn’t rub either and the ride is great imo. I posted a pic on your FB page maroon notch.
I have 18x9 with 265/35/18 on my front and 18x10 with 285/35/18 rears! I bought the fr500 set from American muscle. I have 97 front hubs and moser racing fox length 5 lug rear axles! The is dropped 1.5” on SR coil overs and SR upper and lower control arms from American muscle also. The car handles like a go cart! I have a video on my channel if anyone wants to see how it looks.
Got the same rims... they look even better on your Cobra Tribute if you can imagine that then on my 86 Saleen Tribute.. . I do have an short unboxing video and on car video of the staggered 18" Saleen rims and my first really real reaction of seeing those beauty's out the box and in person.. the video does not do it justice... I get even more compliments then my 17" cobra R Replicas rims.. I didn't think that was possible. But yeah, ya'll get bored take a look..🙏

I want to order for my Lamar It's always separate boxes big old boxes I would like to order from there I ordered the door handle armrest two of them to spin nuts for the headlights and they came in two separate boxes so to spend the nuts for about 11 bucks cost me $40 for shipping and the armrests came in a different box cost me 50 dollars for shipping so how can we get them to put shit all in one box like you got.lol.....
I like 17s I like to run a little more meat on the rear tires for traction prefer 305/45/17 for better traction over an 18 but that’s my preference everyone is different 18s do look better tho but I like when the beefyer tire hooks

Do you have spacers on the retro wheels? I’m struggling to fit my 17x10 cobra Rs, they’re on a 275/40 also. It doesn’t rub the fender but It rubs somewhere on the inside of the wheel. Wondering if you knew any fixes to it. Or maybe I missed a video of yours where you explain this exact question.
My 93 have 2” lowering springs with 275/45/17 rear tires and it rides terrible, I changed rear shocks to strange adjustable and I think that made it worse any suggestions on what I can do to soften the ride. Thanks
what's up man...I cant seem to get any exact info being these wheels are rare, even from LMR... I called them today. I have a 1990 LX.. I just got these EXACT wheels but in all black from LMR. I got the combo with the Nitto 555's.. I want to buy the SVE coilover kit.. I know you said your fronts dont rub the coilover and you didnt mention a spacer so I assume you dont have one, but if I remember correctly you dont have a factory front end, that said what do you think the chances of these wheels clearing the coilover in a stock a arm and stock k member car.. dont know if any of that will even make a difference but I'm just trying to be thorough before I click buy now. thanks in advance for any response
I have an 86. I'm not ready to convert to a 5 lug yet BUT I have the 5 lug wheels. Can you recommend a 4 to 5 lug adapter so I can use the wheels meanwhile?

Get rid of the quad shocks and add a Panhard bar, Night and day difference for these cars.

Sweet brew2l I had 285 40 17 on rear turn quad shocks around but needed new tires an could only get 275s now could not find 285 in nittos ohwell.
I actually prefer the 275s myself

I remember back in 1998 I wanted to put some 18" centerlines on my 93 mustang. Everybody told me it couldn't be done.

Imo rear needs a wider tire maybe a 285-295. I like a 275 on a 9" wheel. You are right the wheels need to change cars.

Quick tip, if you are running kyb shocks and quad shocks, they will rub together

No spacers on the retro. It could be the quad shocks rubbing or the emergency brake cable making contact with the wheel.
I like the wheels overall. I wish they could be a five lug setup to fit on an 23 Mustang GT. I'm so waiting to put a deposit on one.

I have an 86. I'm not ready to convert to a 5 lug yet BUT I have the 5 lug wheels. Can you recommend a 4 to 5 lug adapter so I can use the wheels meanwhile?

i know its been awhile and it has nothing to do with this video, but do you still have the megasquirt in the calypso? if so how well has your tunes held up? i know you did several videos on it and it might be a dumb question but i was just debating on if i wanted to use it or not. i am nowhere near at a point where i would be getting it anytime soon but i was just curious.
