I wealth of information, thank you for your time and knowledge. I can't believe Victron hasn't done this, I have been such a lack of product instructions from a vendor.
Thank you for putting this one out on the Tube! Excellent, clear, easy to understand breakdown of this device. I am upgrading our Inverter and separate converter to a single Victron Unit, and will be replacing our old interior panel with the Touch 50 screen. Saving this one so I can review it again before I start moving wires.
Outstanding presentation, THANKS! 👍 P.S. I’ll be picking up my new Cerbo GX later this week. I am not 100% certain but think I’ll need to buy a a cable? Do I need anything extra to connect to my BMV-712?
that's a great video! thanks!!!! I have 4 mppt that were not connected to my cerbo (long story...) and it seems I just need to use the ve bus. can I ask you if those are normal network cables, or if they have special pin configurations? thanks again!
You won't be able to connect it to the VE Can port. You can connect the MPPT to the Cerbo using the VE Direct to USB interface but you must connect it to one of the USB ports. If you have more USB devices than USB ports you can use a USB hub.
Thanks for the video, Im looking for a monitoring system like de CERBO GX for my boat. I've already bought an inverter but doesn't have any communication port to connect the CERBO GX. I would like to know if there is something like an a AC shunt or something like. Thanks
The Multiplus is what generates all the AC Power data that appears in the Cerbo GX. The MultiPlus II even allows you to add an external current sensor. Without the MultiPlus though you are out of luck, sorry.
You need a Victron inverter or inverter charger for the Cerbo to show AC voltage and current. Then if it is a VE Bus device you connect it to the Cerbo with a VE Bus cable, for smaller VE DIrect inverters you can connect them with a VE Direct cable. If you have the MultiPlus-II you can add an additional current sensor to measure any AC current of your choice.
Excellent description, thanks for sharing the video 🙏 Am I right in saying that the Cerbo-S GX not having the battery Can Bus would not show the battery status on the display?
The Cerbo needs to get its battery state of charge information from one of the following: BMV battery meter, SmartShunt, Lynx Smart Shunt, Lynx BMS. It never gets it direct from the battery itself.
OMG great video guys. finally a total 360 on the serbo. must youtubers just explain what ever they functionality they are using on their serbo. about the usb extender mentioned there, do you have a link? I found the ruuvi links on your site, but not the extender. thanks
@@pkysinc um.... a usb bluethooth adapter will have drivers for windows and mac (dont think there is an extender but an adapter). wont be supported by the cerbo GX OS. even if so, would create another bluethooth connection for the serbo. in the same place. wont extend it. can you guys confirm? am I missing something here? thanks
The plugs should be available through a Victron distributor. I haven't found them commercially available except through Victron. We recommend you plug them all in when the unit is new, even if you are not using them. That way they don't get lost.

Glad it was helpful!
Good info! I’m slowly figuring out the Cerbo and feel it is a vital component for an optimal system. Very powerful tool!
This review summary should be used by Victron as their Cerbo GX Quick Installation Guide.
Best overview on the net. Well done.
This by far is one of the best Cerbo GX videos out there, thanks!
Great video! Suscent and very informative, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

You need a VE Direct cable to go between the Cerbo and the BMV
Good video, can you make more on programming the cerbo, particularly generator stop start relay please?
Good suggestion, I will see what I can do.
Very clear explanations.
Hi great video! Can we connect nmea 2k via usb port using Actisense product? What your thoughts about
I'm pretty sure you can not connect NMEA 2000 via USB. You can connect it using the Victron VE Can to NMEA 2000 cable

I have 3 Mppt victron my question its if I can connect one of the Mppt using the VE Direct to USB interface to the one of the VE CAN Ports?

Really really appreciate this video. Very helpful, thanks a lot.
Quite enlightening, thanks!

Hi, I'ver a question. Can you suggest me which digital sensor I can buy for set as alarm of presence of water? I need just alarm.
Thanks
Any ON-OFF float switch would work for that application.
@@pkysinc do you've a sample? Can you suggest me also a temperature sensor?

The USB adapter can be bought anywhere

What is the name of the type of plugs that the Cerbo uses? I'm needing to buy a replacement and don't know what to search. Thanks!

And you can enable Node-Red when you have the new version and the last software!
