Not a kicker so my opinion is a bit one sided, but clearly he knows his stuff. I'm sure this would work for him and those who train it and become skilled. As a non-bias observer I say great job and wonderful skill. With my bias I question any high kick or any kicks above the waist or knee level. Also am not a fan of spinning and twirling about when kicking either. For me, any kicking should remain low line and at knee level, also use a direct line to target. Again, not a fan of kicking in the first place but that is just my personal preference.
Be careful of that single blade of the foot on the floor. There was a video of some MMA guy diving under and sliding in to home base picking that foot like a cherry for a leg bar and tap out ... just as fast-as-lightning. In the blink of an eye the kicker was down and that knee's cruciate ligaments were at the ripping point. A low kick to the knee while ducking the high kick would probably end the fight on the spot. But this would probably not be within formal tournament regulations for counter-kicks.
