Glad you're enjoying it but the reviews aren't good. I know the score changes slightly from country to country but in the US it's a "Mixed" rating at 68% but only 48% of recent reviews are positive. Seems like they removed a feature allowing AI control of part of your fleet and people aren't happy about it.
@@waltblackadar4690 the biggest reasons for the bad reviews are the constant updates that inevitably break something as they are fixing something else. And it corrupts saves often when they do updates. OP is right tho...it scratches an itch that no other naval warfare game does, and I have been playing them since 688 on the SEGA and even before that on on the commodore type consoles.
@@waltblackadar4690 that's fair. The developer will break something in a patch then fix it and break something else. Like i said, it's flawed for sure but I still find it very enjoyable.
Love Cold Waters. "Con, Sonar, we are cavitating. TORPEDO IN THE WATER! TORPEDO IN THE WATER! 💥 FLOODING IN THE REACTOR SPACE!" Sums up my first patrol.
'The Troop' is a great game and I honestly think it's the closest thing we have to a decent computer version of Squad Leader (or ASL) that exists yet. Yes, i know Microprose Second Front exists and is supposed to be a direct conversion of SL/ASL, but in my opinion was badly translated to the digital medium.
Playing coop Hex of Steel right now. Great game but manual kinda lacking. At least you can ask questions of the other players in the in-game chat and the dev sometimes even shows up.
This is one of the issues I have with the game. It's just....ugly. I don't need top graphics but this looks like late 80s/early 90s and that's just too much of a stretch for me to enjoy the game.
Thanks for the info. I had never heard of Destiny of the World. First thing I do is look at the Steam update to if the development is dead. This has been updated every month since Aug 2021 !!!
I purchased it about a month ago and i really like it. The production System is really cool. I even left some comments and bugreports in the Forum and they were answered instantly and one was even hotfixed.
Used to love it until I started playing competetively. So many times I saw games won or lost purely due to RNG. Friend and I were playing CC3 he flanked my Panther G with an IS-2 and a T-34/85. Ambush both have a clear shot, 150m, both miss with 2 shots and my Panther just obliterates them both. After one too many of those battles I quit.
@@Arg0n01 Whilst i understand where your coming from, that is much of the appeal isn't it? The best wargames generally skew more towards simulating combat and are therefore inherently somewhat unpredictable and unbalanced, close combat is not really suited for competitive play by design and so it's hard to fault it for that.
Cannot recommend Ultimate Admirals: Dreadnoughts :( It's several years since launch and it still has nearly every game-breaking bug today that was complained about during Alpha. Campaign mode is mostly unplayable (imho). Dev's HATE the playerbase and will ban you from the Steam forums for 'negativity' if you post any listing of critical game bugs or legitimate criticisms

SGS games are good, but their small team and business model mean they rarely update games after release. They might make one update, or one extra scenario, etc. But once you buy one of their games, be sure, that's all you'll be getting unless there is a CTD type bug. WARNO is a funny old game. Drop a 155/152mm, or any HE for that matter, round precisely on the heads of that enemy infantry squad out in the open and watch them shrug it off as though nothing happened at all. I really like the different eras and how you can see factions in different time periods. One of my favourite factions to fight is Ermor. Can you stop their vast undead hordes?!
@@boraeananaren Honestly, man. If you want an epic Pacific war game, just get War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition. The only place you can buy it is on the Matrix game store and right now, it's on sale for $14. It's normally $80. And it's also WEGO. Regiments as a single player experience is far superior than anything Eugen has ever put out. It also offers a dynamic campaign through the Winds of Change DLC which is absolutely amazing. I own all of Eugen's products and I have got a lot more Single Player fun out of Regiments. I'm sorry, but the AI in Wargame, Steel Division and WARNO are absolutely shit. Now, Eugen's games in multiplayer is where they shine, and that's about it.
