- Capsizing your kayak is not a matter of "IF" but a matter of "WHEN". Especially if you’re out on the water often.
I was on my fishing kayak trying to get my bait unstuck from a tree when Geometry and Physics kicked in. I lacked situational awareness and put myself in an awkward spot.
Guys, its super important to LEASH your gear and keep personal items secured at all times. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WEAR YOUR PFD!!
SIDE NOTE Righting a kayak is not as difficult as it seems, just be calm and you can right a fully rigged fishing kayak EASY! - Розваги

@@losangelesbfs that’s why I love Phenix Rods! As for the tournament, I’m fishing ABA Iron Man on 3/16 but if I can find a place to sign up for the 4/20 one, I may do that as well.
Glad you were alright man and not too much damage!🤙
thanks man! just the one rod, and all my electronics are fine. 🤙🏽
Glad you're ok and that it happened in shallow water.
Thank you socal outdoors! yeah, thank goodness!
Stay safe man! Crazy to see a yak flipping as you don’t see that on other yaking videos… good to see you keeping things real and giving advice and tips for recovery. Cheers man!
thank you so much bro! means alot. yeah i honestly dont know how i managed that!
Glad you are ok man and hope to see ya soon back on the water

Damn man, glad you’re ok!! Could have been so much worse!
Bro thank you! Yeah i know! also just found your channel, saving that bird and catching your pb was just on point! 🤙🏽
@@losangelesbfs thanks man! I appreciate that a lot!
Glad you’re good dude! Way to stay positive in a bad situation! 👍
thank you mrdustin! im glad i have the experience now!
4:31 The "look of shame!" LOL!
Hey, we all learn about vertical center of gravity (VCG) the hard way at least once!
LOL!! yeah even when i was editing I was like "wow i looked ashamed". yes brother, now i will be more fully aware of my VCG next time.
Glad you’re ok. Great local lake, my home lake as well. Quick question How are you securing your box behind your seat?
hey george! and thank you. yes sfd is a great escape from the city. The battery box is a strap down requiring you to drill into the hull.

Happens to everyone good recover be safe
That looked sketchy. i broke a rod like that snagged in a tree but I didn't flip well done on the recovery!
thank you sir! ive snagged trees like this before, and ive noticed certain angles i can almost get the yak to flip, i guess this time i wasnt so lucky. Yes bro, breaking rods sucks!
Dude that sucks, at least you didn’t lose any gear. You’ve got a way better trolling motor on your kayak than I have on my boat 😂
haha thanks clint! yeah suprisingly the motor still works too!
damn glad your safe and it was near the shore
thanks jack! yea luckily i was close to shore
What sonar system do you have and how much was it I’m thinking about getting one, i love fishing at the dam !
hey whatsup Isaac!! its just the garmin cv5, bought it used on offerup! same man, the dam is so quiet and relaxing.
Damn dude, I'm surprised you only broke one rod flipping that shallow. Your motor still works too?
hey Cheethoe! ya man all the electronics are fine, surpsingly my phone too.
Was it the camera angle or what.. it seemed the kayak was listing to the left 20 secs before you flipped in that same direction?
@@ARCENAULT hi arc, yes it was leaning left as i was leaning right. i didnt notice what the yak was doing as i was leaning right to get the bait outta the tree..my lesson learned 🥲

Damn dude , glad it haopened in the shallows. Was you graph ok? Looks like your new GoPro definitely works under water.
hahaha!! yeah man way to break in the new gopro. yeah bro, surprisingly all the electronics are still working. thanks DWP!!
did your trolling motor survive the tip over? does it still work? i have a xi3 and i always worry about losing all that money if i flip.
@@Viper-eq7by it survived! if i flipped in the saltwater. it would be a different story. still running great to this day!
@@losangelesbfs thanks for the reply. i just fish fresh water so that eases my mind a little.
@@Viper-eq7by no problem man. also since its the kayak version xi3, the mother board is smothered in dialectric grease, its meant to get wet. have fun tight lines
Damn that sucks bro
ya bro learned my lesson. 😂
Haha why were you using the motor Just use the pedals when your hung haha
haha i will take that into consideration next time i flip haha
Right? He's in like 3 feet of water a foot from the bank with his tm running lol great way to get unexpected force from it to flip you, just stow that thing and use the pedals broski!
