      2004 MILLENNIAL SILVER WITH SADDLE INTERIOR. THE QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS USED AND BUILD QUALITY IS AMAZING. THE CAR LOOKS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW WITH 65K MILES WHEN PURCHASED EARLIER THIS YEAR. SMOOTH QUIET COMFORTABLE RIDE WITH PLENTY OF V8 POWER. THE MARK LEVINSON 6 CD CHANGER AND CD PLAYER WORK FLAWLESSLY AFTER 20 YEARS AS DO THE MARK LEVINSON SPEAKERS. I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE AND PREFER LISTENING TO MY CDS THAN ANYTHING ON THE RADIO INCLUDING AND ESPECIALLY SIRIUS. OH ALMOST FORGOT A HARD TOP CONVERTIBLE OPTION WHEN YOU'RE IN THE MOOD. I THINK THE SC 430 LOOKS SO ELEGANT SLEEK AND FUTURISTIC LIKE SOMETHING BUCK RODGERS WOULD DRIVE. EASILY ONE OF THE FINEST CARS EVER MADE. CONGRATULATIONS ON AN EXCELLENT PURCHASE.

    First recommendation: Buy the wind deflector. It is expensive for what it is...but it makes it useable year round as a convertible. It's a must-have, IMO.
    Also, I had Loyds custom mats for the entire vehicle, and the color and fitment were perfect.
    I also added manual exhaust cutouts in the rear, tucked up under the rear corners of the bumper. It was PERFECT. I only put the caps on the cutouts (which was super easy) on really long trips where I wanted it super quiet. They were my favorite modification, and super cheap. You only noticed it when you really got on it, and it was still not loud. Great sound.

      Bro it's getting dangerous, I've been trying to get one for the last 2-3 years but every time I go to look I get sidetracked and end up in something else. Last time I was looking ended up in a 2007 Toyota Solara Convertible. When I was looking for my current car, ended up with a Porsche Boxster instead. In the last few years I've seen sub 100k mileage examples rise from like $12,500 in the summer to like $15,000. I think this year for me is gonna be when I jump the gun and get the nicest one I can!

    • @xclear1874
      @xclear1874 28 днів тому

      @@bitterm3 I ended up getting a Boxster! I will say I already got rid of it, but I daily drove it for a whole year through the CT winters and all. That car was RIDICULOUSLY fun and compared to an SC430 you can just have all types of fun with it you can’t with an SC, but please be aware the Porsche Tax is real on parts and labor. Everyone’s mileage varies obviously, but it just seemed like everything with it asides from say routine maintenance like plugs, coils, and fluids required special tools and was EXTORTIONATELY expensive. I got it for a good deal so it was worth it for me, but just something to be aware of. I have an MR2 Spyder now in its replacement and it’s REAL close in terms of fun between the two but I will say being able to be that guy saying you own a Porsche is a rewarding feeling, and it’s a great car. I still absolutely love an SC430 and I will say I was even between an SC and the MR2 but truthfully, if you want an ultra reliable/cheap to repair fun daily, go with the SC430, if you want a fun second car/summer car, definitely go with the Boxster! Sorry for the long ass paragraph but let me know if you’ve got any other questions! Hahaha

    interesting that your used Lexus experience has been a lot like mine! i'm also in southeast michigan but i went to Virginia to pick up an 07 GS350 with about the same mileage. it's everything it should be, but it hasn't been without its litte hiccups like you mentioned.
    i also had a weird water leak from the AC system, the drainage tube for it is a rubber plug on the topside of the transmission tunnel, and it gets clogged and all the water leaks into the floor insulation. once you rip the plug out and it drains properly you're all set. and jumping the OBDII port is a funny Toyota thing i guess, because to change the transmission fluid it requires doing that to engage a special mode that indicates you're at the right fluid temperature to let excess fluid drain (since they're sealed)
    other than that they're everything that everyone says they are. can't beat a Lexus

    Bought a 2002 example about 6 years ago for 11k bucks and it drove awesome. Slow as a mug. Got stuck in the snow twice here in Kansas so I sold it for 9k. I look at the prices and wow. They’re selling for 20k.

      RWD in the snow never a good thing. I am in NJ and it really doesn't snow more than a few times a year...fortunately mine stays in the garage October through April! I paid close to 30k for mine but it has very low miles...the plan is to keep it forever!

      Nice! They’re really cool and unique cars which is what I like. I’m in a 2014 S5 now so I’m tearing through snow and it’s more sporty for me which is fun. Hope yours stays in great shape.

      I’m sorry but yes. Your car is slow which is fine. They’re not meant to be fast. My old Taurus SHO with turbos was a billion times faster and was barely quicker 0-60 than what you’re claiming so I do not believe you.

      @@dunktherapper don’t believe me? Look up road tests. Some got 5.8 slowest test I’ve seen by magazines was 6.3. I got 5.6, 5.8 two tries and one owned fast cars. If you car was slow you have a mechanically issue. If no issue I don’t believe YOU.

    There would be nothing to best because of the wood on the steering wheel. My 17 es350 had heated steering wheel with wood the same you have style. The wood was cold and it barely heated up the little sides but I guess it was okay. My 21 es350 has wood but now wrapped leather around it kinda how Infiniti used to do back in the day like early 2000s q45.

    I love mine. I got a 2002 with 160k miles and it keeps on going. When I went to the DMV in my local WI area, a guy in a Porsche cayenne told me to hold on to it as it sure to eventually be a collectible.
    Keep on the timing belt! It has an interference engine, so changing that will be the most expensive thing you’ll need to do every 90k miles. But overall maintenance is easy. By the way if your navigation cover gets jammed, don’t worry that is common and can easily get un-jammed at the dealer.

    I remember my first time driving this thing and I immediately thought something was off. Years later when I got my 07 BMW 550i sport,it came with run flats on a car with sport package?! And they were awful. Handled like shit and felt like bricks. I found out Lexus was doing run flats on these things so maybe that’s why clarkson hated it. I love Lexus and I was shocked but I had no idea. Run flats ruin a car severely!
