bigender lesbian here...realised i was bigender earlier this week lol. sorta hit me all at once. then looking back, i realised i'd always felt this way?? i always felt a bit different, but always thought that being agender or gender-neutral didn't feel right. turns out, i wasn't looking for no gender...i was looking for more than one! lol
''weirdly'', when i feel more womanly, and prefer she/her, i tend to dress more butch/androgynous, however when i feel more manly, and prefer he/him, i tend to dress more feminine! probably why i had no idea i was bigender for so long lol.
gender =/ presentation! glad i've discovered this about myself :D gender is wild!

I am bigender. I actually have the rarer AGI complication (alternating gender incongruity) where I feel only either completely female or completely male (never both), but for me it's not a fluid transition. It is abrupt. The change is unwanted and I have zero control over it. (Trigger warning) It feels like someone hits a switch. It causes severe depression, problems in my relationships, dysphoria is severe. I have learned that bigender people who have the AGI type only make up 3% of the transgender community and it would really be a big help for people like me, if more information on the AGI complication could be brought out so the profile could be raised and with it awareness.

I feel you. What I found has helped me was to sorta harmonize, befriend, melt those two forces in me together... they're still both you! Don't forget that. Try to make them get to know each other, get them to hang out each other, talk to each other... might sound weird but it isn't at all. I started letting them "play" with each other by expressing both of them simultaneously with outfits, makeup... Ima have a superfeminine and a supermasculine element to it. Blending them, not letting one of them out... that's just a tiny example of endless possibilities. I feel like my "switches" get super harsh when one of them feels "left out" or "forgotten"... try treating them like your babies, your fragments. They still make up one whole perfect being, you're beautiful!!! Keep your head up you got this ♡♡♡

I'm not sure if I'm bigender or a form of multigender, but I can say that I do have an abrupt, unexpected change when switching between genders.

And I as I watch your other videos I feel like I relate to you more, Lucy. While I'm a biologic female trying to appear more masculine I can still feel almost exactly the way you do Lucy. I have been struggling with my gender for years now, around teenage years and puberty years. I was born female but always thought I felt more like a male so I thought I was transgender. But then the past 2-3 years I felt like both. I was never a "girly girl" anyway - I have never worn makeup or dresses and skirts so my family and friends just used the word "tomboy" which I hate that term so much XD So recently I have discovered the term bigender and it honestly feels so right. Even thinking about my future, I envision it as a male or female and it still confuses me which path I'd like to take. I really would like children and I also really want to change myself so I am more towards a male because I have always lent more that way. Thank you :D

I'm a bigender person that has only just figured it out, and honestly it feels better.
Being a shy person, my parents believe im a straight female because i havent came out to them yet. Im sorta a bundle of mental disorders, haha.. Anyways, there are days i want to be completely male & i feel extremely masculine. At first i thought i was trans, but as soon as i started secretly transitioning i realised im still a very feminine person. Online is typically where i express myself entirely, and i found myself more comfortable with the name Isaac instead of my female birth given name. But i still felt attracted to my feminine side, and i didn't feel uncomfortable in my body. So i thought, I'm gender fluid. But that felt wrong too. I literally just found out bigender existed earlier today, and im doing further research to see if it fits me! Honestly, im still really young and dont know if im supposed to figure out this stuff at my age but this video helped!

You're video has helped me a lot actually! I'm a 17 year old female, but ever since I was 8 I've been dressing and acting like a male because that is what made me feel more natural. My friends have pointed out that I'm more in touch with my masculine side than I ever have been with my feminine side, but at times I do like dressing pretty in dresses, and getting dulled up for an occasion, but the description of feeling male one day, and female the next, helps me feel a little more normal.
So, overall I think I would identify myself as gender-fluid!
    Thank you!!

Hey, just pionting out bisexuals have always accepted trans people, so we technically still like everyone & theres no reason you arent infact Bi. It is a myth or 'missunderstanding' with the pansexual community that there is a differnce betweeen the two. They have been whole heartedly accepted since the beggining.

@@PopCultureFan_ Sorry, but Pansexuality means something slightly different for everyone. Please don’t try to correct us on our own sexuality. I see pansexuality as having an attraction towards someone because of their personality and not necessarily taking gender into account. We just love humans. No need to be specific about gender.

I- I’m afab but I have a strong attraction to he/him pronouns instead of she. I’m somebody who wears more feminine clothes than male clothing. I always felt that I never fit into the girl definition. That something was different. When people started calling me he because I cut my hair rlly short and my breast weren’t really shown I was so happy. I was happy I wasn’t considered a girl and instead I was happy because I was thought of as a boy. I’ve always known that I was a girl since you know everyone around me labeled me as a girl and I just grew up as that. I don’t know what’s the definition of dysphoria but It’s not like I complain about it too much. I utter I just don’t like my boobs or 🐱 too much on some days. If I ever did some sort of quiz or played a game and they asked you your gender I never gave second thoughts and just said I’m a girl. I always liked girl characters in games because they are the prettiest but when sometimes I feel like it’s wrong to put male when your taking some sort of quiz.

    (Long comment)
Hi! Never seen this channel before but this was an extremely informed video! I wanted to say that some of the wording *sounds* like it’s making non-binary genders out to look like they are choices, but as someone who relates to what they’re saying in the video, I want to add some input and show how much I agree with the topic of conversation here AND how it was spoken about!
So, there’s a few parts where the hosts say “I choose to identify this way, you choose that/if you choose this identity, etc etc etc” things like that. I do NOT believe the hosts are saying that Being Non-Binary Is A Choice. I don’t know if anyone else would respond this way to these statements, but here is how I interpret this video, based on the additional surrounding contexts:
BEING non-binary is not a choice - but educating yourself on the extremely diverse terms and identities within the non-binary community is, just as much as adopting a label for your identity is a choice.
Basically, you cannot choose how you feel about your gender, your body, your presentation - but you CAN choose how you identify those feelings.
I think that adopting a personal identity, in general, is a choice. We are all born completely blank-slate - we are ASSIGNED gender, we aren’t BORN with gender. Born with specific reproductive organs, with varying functional capabilities between us all, but identifying your own gender (or sexuality, romantic attraction, etc) is a choice. Most people can get by in life leaning into the fabricated “default” of cisheteromonoganormativity, but a huge portion of our human population will literally die if they don’t have access to the education and resources they need on their trans identity, ASAP.
I don’t know who will benefit from reading this because I didn’t really notice anyone taking their statements on choice out of context in the comments. I just wanted to say, this is how I’m interpreting these discussions and I truly believe they are interpretations that are more constructive and informed than most conversations on trans identities. I watch a LOT of videos on trans lives, and no one else is willing to use the word “choice” re: gender in such an accurate way. For me, choice is about freedom to be your true self, and I feel this was portrayed very well in this video. So thank you for bringing awareness both to these identities themselves, and for your nuanced ideas!!
    And yes, I’m subscribed now!!

I deleted my previous comment 😅 I have come out as Transgender in June of 2020. This was after some very deep thinking and self reflection on how I saw myself and wanted others to see me. In 2011 when I was 17 I had the thought that I could be transgender but I pushed that to the back of my mind and became excessively girly to "cover it up". This year my fiance expressed their desire to transition (either fem-boy or trans-female, they haven't decided which suits them better yet, but I'll support their journey either way!) I rementioned the desire to be male and I asked how they would feel; being on board with it, I've been given more freedom to express myself and believe this is the right path for me. I'm super happy and glad I found this video so I could "test the waters" of my identity. Bigender and Gender fluidity both fit me a short while ago.

One thing of note is that the “umbrella” system of identity doesn’t always apply in the same way for everyone. I’m bigender, but I don’t identify under the non-binary umbrella, I see how we can relate but to me specifically I DO fit into the gender binary, just both sides, and so saying I’m non binary doesn’t seem right. In the same way, multi gender can be an umbrella term for things like bigender and trigender, but it can also fall under the gender fluid umbrella for some people. And some non-binary people don’t identify under the trans label personally. Labels are all about what makes you feel most comfortable and gives you the greatest sense of community, so people who have experiences that sound the same may feel comfortable under different labels.

I don’t 100% identify with either male or female but I do on some level identify with both. I don’t always identify with both simultaneously. I never feel like neither one. I feel like I could also fall under the Genderfluid category but Bigender seems to feel more comfortable for me. Hope this helps anyone who is questioning their gender.

So far I haven't come out to anyone irl, though I want to mix "male" and "female" clothing as well. For me it's really hard to know when/if I feel feminine or masculine. But I for example like being called a lady (I'm AMAB). Overall I'm just generally confused on whether I identify as bigender or maybe just gender non-conforming? Maybe you can help me, as you seem to have already figured yourself out better than I have.

It's interesting how Lucy experiences being bigender. I'm bigender, nonbinary, retain my male name at birth (Noah feels androgynous to me), and I don't experience feeling both at the same time, I experience entirely isolated and static identities of demigirl or demiboy. I don't identify with female or male, but rather a demiform of each. So I go a 1 week to 4 weeks of having a thin moustache, no beard but a small patch under my lip, makeup/nails, androgyne to semi-fem clothing with jewelry, wear a leather fannypack, have my long colorful hair down, and prefer to be addressed as they/them by the public but she/her by close friends gives euphoria. Then, I'll go a similar duration of an entirely isolated identity where ill grow my beard out to a few inches and maintain it with a slightly thicker moustache, not wear makeup, masculine nail designs, keep my hair up as the underside is dark brown my hair appears as natural dark brown and then i actually keep the sides shaved so I can switch to this look where I can hide my hair in a tight bun, wear leather fanny pack but a dress shirt with wide legged dress pants, and i feel fine being called they/he but don't consider myself a man in that moment. That's why I call myself demibigender because I never feel fully male or female but I take on distinct identities for multiple weeks or less, but I never have felt like a woman or a man, but rather a combination of both, yet not dysphoric over my body. Everytime I switch it's because I get interested in trying a masculine style or a feminine style, and I enjoy fashion overall so it helps my fulfill my fantasy, and I never feel insecure in those fantasies. I feel genderful and not confused or ever weirded our by my own facial hair or other things, yet not able to experience femininity or masculinity as intensely as other bigender people and mainly I feel like I don't ever feel as feminine as other queer people. This is all fun and cool, but when people date me they expect me to be female or male. It's either or, and I mean if I had to choose I choose female, but then I feel uncomfortable af with them feminizing me. I prefer to engage with people who look at gender as art as I do, or just let me be me and not push me to shave my face or push me to wear feminine clothing. I have to of course provide this incredible explanation instead of just being myself, which is why I had to get all these labels. So I am demibigender I guess, but really I'm just me and I experience behaviors that seem to fall under demiboy/demigirl and bigender.

I identify as librafeminine (they/she). I see the terms bigender and gender fluid as way to describe one's gender and someone could use it as a stand along gender identity but I like to see it as a descriptor of the gender identity. For instance, I am questioning if I experience librafeminine in a more bigender way instead of a gender fluid way.
P.s. I'm afab, have ✨flat chest gender envy✨, fem bottom euphoria and appreciate a more neutral name.
P.p.s. I honestly am just so curious. It doesn't really bother me like I really just love to learn about the world around me and learn about my own identity.

I think that could also be about your pronouns.
Since pronouns do not have to be strictly based on your gender of birth, they are terms that we use to feel comfortable.
you can be a woman, identify yourself as a woman, and in the same way, you can use different pronouns!

Yeah..... probably the first time I say this.... but I'm for sure one of these two labels. I like snuggles but I always want to protect those I care about... my fiancee (actually most people I know) consider me pretty girly... sometimes i feel it annoys some people (but if I was a girl maybe it would be found to be cute) but i don't want to suppress my girly side anymore. It makes me super happy and joyful when its brought out in me. I like some boy stuff (construction, machines, thought) but i also like girl stuff ( I miss straightening my hair the most.... back in emo days lol) ..... anyways I could leep going but my main question is.... how do I bring this up to my fiancee??? I'm a father of 3 kids, 15 boy, 13 girl, 6 boy. I dont want to weird anyone out.... at the same time I feel I have anger issues from suppressing this.....
Thanks for the vid!!!!! And I'm gonna start doing research too

As a bigender I’d put myself in a binary category. But my pronouns are he/him she/her so I do understand other bigender having pronouns that are not binary. I don’t like the they/them pronoun in reference to myself as long as the person knows at least one of my pronouns, soooooo that may be why I like falling under binary

Hey, same here. I’m still figuring something out but I thought you would maybe know the answer to my question:) A part of me resonates with being male (trans) because I’m afab. And a part of me resonates with being non binary (agender specifically) at the same time. I was wondering if this is even possible what I’m saying (because agender is like the whole point of feeling no gender) but then a part of me also feels male. Would I need to call myself bigender now? Since that is also a subcategory of non binary & it makes me confused haha. I’m very sorry if you had a stroke reading this, thanks!
