I was 16 years old when I started to get into heavy metal by listening to mostly Metallica, and then Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and a few more. Predictably, this kind of music was distasteful to my mom, and she was uncomfortable seeing me listen to metal. After a while passed, she wondered why this music is typically loud and angry, and what these bands say in their lyrics. I took the time to explain to her by telling her some of the lyrics and why this music sounds the way it does. Then she found metal way more interesting than she did before. Up to now, I've taken her to 2 metal concerts, and she's liked all of them. She's seen Blind Guardian, Grave Digger, Obituary, Exodus, and Power Trip with me. She wants to go to a Metallica concert so bad; I have to take her some day. 😃
Their original name was "Burn The Priest" so I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in their name being a Biblical phrase. lol Their even releasing a new album of covers under their old name.
Used to listen to this in some of my darker nights. 5-ish years sober, still listening to it. Addiction is a strange thing. This really hits home if you know what he's talking about first hand.
It makes me so sad when you guys are mad at each other :( the bond and the love that you guys have for each other is so evident, just in your body language. I love it so much. I've been watching reaction videos for a few months as a distraction from some very very dark times in my life and finding your channel has been the best thing that could happen to me at this point in my life and I am eternally grateful for you guys being brought into my life. Thank you both so much, from the bottom of my heart. You're my favourite by an absolute MILE..and I know I'm spelling favourite with a U but hey..I'm British..what can I say? lol! SO SO much love for you guys, thank you again. Please don't ever stop.
I was watching...erm...I don't remember, another reaction video I'm sure, but you guys were in the suggested videos at the side, just so happened it was a Slipknot reaction and Slipknot are one of my favourite bands of all time, so here we are!
@@inimicalproductions4306 Every healthy relationship has arguments or periods of being mad each other, it's perfectly normal. shit happens, people get over it. :)
This song w/ the video is the best artistic encapsulation of back to back tours. It’s great to see that others appreciate its archetypical prospective... even if it’s hard to explain, it’s a part of who we are. Thanks.
I can't tell you how much this song means to me. My family drinks. Ive struggled with not just booze but drugs too. Same with my siblings. This song is legit a tearjerker. My issues with addiction have led me into the hospital twice. Reading his book helps even more. Ugh. When I leaned this song at 13 I never thought at 28 I would relate to it so much years later.
This is easily my favourite song, the lyrics and music is just a perfect fit for the context. Believe it or not the music was already written and then Randy put the lyrics to it in ashes of the wake album. Pretty sure he was battling alcohol addiction at this time aswell.
Making my way through your channel. Great stuff, you guys are so thoughtful in your analysis of songs and what the intent of the message is, and why it's relatable. A lot of Everclear stuff has pretty spectacular lyrics, too. Try out "Wonderful" or "Why I Don't Believe In God"
Man lamb of god just can’t get any better! As a self proclaimed biggest lamb of god fan. It makes me very happy see how much you like and admire their music. I know plenty of Christians who won’t give them any chance at all solely because of their name and metal itself. I’m glad to see that their sheer talent transcends even religious beliefs. Lamb of god is the best hands down. LOG for life! \m/
Along with Slipknot, Lamb of God is an all time favorite. They, like Slipknot, seem to get better with each album. The lyrics get so deep and personal. The musical gymnastics of Willie, Mark, Chris, and John blow me away. How comfortable Randy seems to have gotten as a vocalist is so inspiring for an aspiring vocalist, like myself.
Just subbed. I love how you guys break down the lyrics and how you both can relate to them in some sort of way. I also love metal like this. Grew up to it. Im also a christian who went through the same tribulations. Ive been trying to get a few reaction channels to listen to a band that isn't popular and underrated. If you guys could react to "Steryle - In Rising Tides" that would be awesome.
Randy Blythe had a serious alcohol addiction.....I believe this song signifies his battle with the darkest times of his life. I'm a huge LOG fan! Listen to 512.....its about the time he was being charged for manslaughter in Russia. A kid was stage diving and wasn't caught and died from hitting the ground. They tried to accuse Randy of pushing him but was acquitted and released
First time I heard this song or lamb of god was on headbangers ball in like 2002/03. I INSTANTLY became a lamb of god fan. Got to see them a few months later on the headbangers ball tour with god forbid, killswitch engage, shadows fall and lamb of god. It was an amazing show. 11th hour is one of my all time favorite songs ever. Randy and the band are amazing when it comes to lyrics. I’ve seen lamb of god 4x
I love that you're choosing some lesser-known songs. I mean obviously Lamb of God isn't exactly unknown, but it's nice that you're not just hitting all the big hits or the newest songs by some of these bands.
Not fair to have her rate it after one listen. She's right not to jump too quickly. Vin! I loved this song immediately too. You guys are great! Obviously, I haven't seen a hater comment yet. Although that's not a metal community thing.
My bro we have the same tastes. 11th hour is my fav LoG song and easy top 5 songs of metal of the last couple decades. Lyrics hit me as hard as you who was in a similar position all those years ago.
They do have an official video for this song lol. But heavier 45 seconds? I challenge that - Lamb of God "Blood Junkie" off same album. Lol Awesome reaction though. Y'all have earned a new subscriber.
VinAnd Sori yeah. Before they were called lamb of god they went by burn the priest. And are releasing an album of all cover songs under the name burn the priest. They released 2 tracks off it so far
Inherit the earth is a cover. Burn the priest entire new album is cover songs. Its not their song. They did a cover album of bands that inspired them through out the years.
I think they have heavier parts in a lot of other songs on this album. The breakdown of Ruin hits Ike a freight train. Vigil, Boot Scraper, Blood Junkie are also incredible.
You showed up in my feed, because I am subscribed to a few reactors. I saw you after I had watched a reaction from "Lost In Vegas." It was your "Ghost in the Fog" by "Cradle of Filth" reaction, and I loved how you interpret lyrics. Subbed instantly lolz :)
I'm not sure if Randy (Lead singer of LoG) wrote this about himself, but he's an alcoholic and quit drinking like 10 years ago. it might be similar to the 12 Step Suite Mike Portnoy wrote for Dream Theater about his journey to getting sober.
21:04...yeah you will, but this section is still head stompingly heavy...the WHOLE DAMN THING is heavy from Ruin to Vigil and beyond, LoG rips shreds and destorys!!!
This song is actually about ptsd/gulf war syndrome. Its about that, and how for a long time it was dismissed and left untreated. So soldiers were left to treat it themselves. Alcohol is the easiest medication to turn to when nobody else cares.
How about jinjer - Pisces ( live session ) . If you guys have not heard this , please do a review! You guys will flip ! Great female vocalist. Going to see them live Friday in Chicago ! Thanks... and Yes that is her real voice !! 🤘☘🤘
I think in the part where he’s talking about internal engagement never consummated I think he’s actually referring to the fact that being in addiction is sort of like being in a relationship because you’re committed to it and it becomes your whole life but unlike an actual healthy relationship it can never be consummated because the drug can never love you back
5yrs ago. Well, I got diagnosed with Liver stuff, so unless I get a transplant, I’m dead. No biggie. It runs in the family, my fault. If anyone cares, watch the music vid. for this song. I found a heavier 45 seconds, www. youtube .com/watch?v=NZqllJrVmFY at 16:10 during Post Organic the breakdown at the end of the song is the heaviest in metal that i've heard that still sounds melodic to any extent.

I think it’s interesting... I didn’t know they did that officially. Burn the priest is actually technically less “blasphemous” than Lamb of God. I’d like to hear what their logic was in renaming it. You know jesus told a few stories where the priest was actually the bad guy so it’s interesting, not really offensive to me
Cool insight. Not sure why they changed back. It's been so long since they were BTP before, I thought it odd to go back after so much success as LoG. I don't know if they're doing it just for the new material or from now on.
Hey if you find anything about it post a link
They're reviving the old name for the upcoming covers album, nothing more than that.
They never changed the name. Just have a new album for burn the priest. Still separate entities.

The lyrics to Lamb of God are actually written by Mark and Willie, both guitarists, Randy barley has anything to do with song writing with the band.
You should do "protest the hero - heretics and killer." The video for it is great too but it hink y'all will enjoy brwaing that song down.
