Hardcore supporter groups (barras bravas, torcedores, etc.) often take the form of local neighborhood associations/gangs. A lot of disadvantaged people often find sense of closeness/purpose in these places, so that's why they're so passionate. Some groups might be often associated with crime, but in general they could be compared to us hood gangs. Some try to do good for the community, some indulge in crime, most are very vocal and passionate about it; it just so happens that it is intertwined around football culture and a team.

I will write down some crazy things you could have included:
Teo Gutierrez, who was back then a world class talent and two years later played in the World Cup, once threatened his teammates at Racing with a gun after a loss against Independiente.
The club Loma Negra, which now plays in their city’s league, a city with a population of around 5000 people, back in the early 80s, when they were backed by the biggest cement factory in Argentina and enjoyed considerable National sucess, played a friendly against the USSR national team, which could be considered as a clash bewteen capitalism and socialsim.
It is believed Marshal Tito, the leader of Yugoslavia for more than 30 years, had been exhiled to Argentina before he came to power and that there he became a supporter of Estudiantes as he worked as a butcher in La Plata.

As a Peruvian I can say that PIRATA FC It is a modest club that was founded less than 10 years ago by a businessman from the city of Chiclayo and that competed in the first division after winning the Copa Perú,which gave an amateur team a place in the highest professional division of Peru (if you want know why, I can clarify it in the comments) and that it is now in the second division 😅

Worth noting that the São Paulo x Tigre match was said to have brought a curse upon the club.
Given that it was the last major trophy they've won up until this year (2023).
São Paulo was placed in a group with tigres in this years Sudamericana, and finally completed a full match against the Argentineans, winning both matches, and set to supposedly end the decade long title drought.
It wasn't the Sudamericana thought, as LDU Quito eliminated them on the Quarter Finals. But São Paulo managed to beat both its biggest Rivals, Palmeiras and Corinthians, and lastly the powerful Flamengo team at the Brazilian Cup final (Copa do Brasil), a title which São Paulo never managed to conquer before (due to prior to the 2010s, teams competing in the Libertadores not being eligible to play the national cup), and so (hopefully) starting a new era of conquests for the club.

    • @zaza_
      @zaza_ 6 місяців тому +1

actually the curse was lifted in 2021, when SPFC played Racing which had Orban, the same defender that played in Tigre in 2012, and who was the focus of all the trouble that led to the beatings and the W.O title. Racing won 0 - 1 in Morumbi with Orban on the pitch, but SPFC went champions against Palmeiras in the 2021 Paulistão the next game.

The worst story I've ever seen in football was the goalkeeper Bruno and what he did to his son's mother because he didn't want to pay child support. **DARK STORY ALERT** He orchestrated her kidnapping, murder and concealment of the corpse by dismemberment and giving the remains to dogs. Also, if I'm not mistaken the intention was to kill the child (a 4-month-old baby) too, but the hired killers didn't have the courage and abandoned him to starve to death, luckily the police found the baby in time, he was very weak but he survived.
This psycophath wasn't a player of a small club who didn't have money, he was Flamengo's goalkeeper, he had just won the Brasileirão the year prior.

Now I'll mention a few good ones to enlighten the mood and wait for a part 2 video.
A funny story is "Ratos de Praia", in which Romario, Edmundo and Renato Gaúcho, at the time stars of rival Rio teams Flamengo, Vasco da Gama and Fluminense, respectively, had their salaries delayed for months, and in protest, They decided to stop going to training and go live on the beach. They ended up organizing a beach soccer tournament and together they challenged the Brazilian National Team of beach soccer 😂.
In 1983, world football legend and Corinthians idol, Sócrates, said "I want to die on a Sunday and with Corinthians champion". In 2011, his prophecy came true and he died on a Sunday, the day Corinthians won the Brasileirão.

Some suggestiona for a part 2:
-BaVi da Paz: could have appeared in the begining about the violence in the games. This was a derby between Bahia and Vitória, in which both teams made a lot of ads for peace in the stadiuns. In the end, there were 9 red cards on the match, players and fands fighting, and Vitória forcing the last red cards to end the match.
    - 1987 Brazilian league: I thought this would be there, considering Flamengo keep trying to get the title recognized in the courts. The history as a whole is a big mess.
    - Not sure if it's in the other video, but when you talked about Boca x River, you could have mentioned the game in 2015 that was suspended after Boca fans throwed pepper fans on River players, and the 2018 final that had to be played at Bernabeu due to River fans throwing rocks at Boca bus, and injuring Boca players.
    - Peñarol 2x3 Palmeiras in 2017, Palmeiras secured a great comeback, and in the end there were fights on the pitch and the stands, Palmeiras players claiming that the stadium security were blocking the access to the dressing room in order to trap then in the field, and Palmeiras manager Eduardo Batista raging in the Interview. Another thing is that on the begining of the year, Felipe Melo gave an interview saying that "if we need to punch an Uruguayan in the face, we'll do it", when trying to saying that the team would do whatever it takes to win the cup.
    - The 2014 Libertadores semifinalists were San Lorenzo, Bolivar, Sporting Crystal and Nacional from Paraguay, while the Sudamericana ones were São Paulo, Atlético Nacional, River Plate and Boca Juniors. You don't need to know that much ablut South American football to feel that this seems weird.
-CBF recognizing the Taça Brasil and Robertão as Campeonato Brasileiro in 2010, which led to Palmeiras and Santos becoming the biggest champions at the time with 8 titles each. Then this year, CBF also recognized Atlético-MG 1937 Torneio dos Campeões as a Brazilian League title, meaning they now have 3 titles.
-Portuguesa relegation and their current situation.
-Santa Cruz (my team) going from the 1st to the 4th division, having the biggest attendence in the country while in the 4th division, going back to the 1st, playing it's 1st international competition, just to go back to the 4th and now having no division to play, all between 2006-2023.
Also, the Flamengo x Atlético-MG match was for the Copa Libertadores, not the Brazilian League.

The São Paulo x Tigre game has a even more eerie facts: this 2012 title was the last São Paulo, who were the most successful brazilian team at that point, went to win in this decade, like they were cursed after beating Tigre by W.O in the final,, and the pivot of all the trouble in the pitch that lead to the aggressions was an Argentinian defender called Orban. That was the Tigre's curse on SPFC, and Orban's. 10 years later São Paulo would have another chance for a title in the 2021 Paulistão, but there was a game for the Libertadores against Racing Club before the finals. Guess what? Orban now played for Racing and would be in the game - a chance to lift the curse perhaps? At this time SPFC lost the game 0 - 1 to Racing in Morumbi, but went champions the next game against Palmeiras - losing the game to Orban payed the karma and Tricolor could be champions again.

More information Once the Colombian supporters threatened to kill players from the Águilas del América and even sent Cuauhtémoc a coffin in allegory to Esoz, in the end they scored 3 goals against the Colombians arbitrations against the Mexican teams when their clubs played Libertadores and Sudamericana (the best known were when Conmebol changed the rules when Cruz Azul beat Boca and the same with Chivas against Inter, not to mention that in the semifinal those from Vélez wanted to try it) . but their managers failed) they did not want what happened when the North American team Pachuca did to Colo-Colo in the South American final. the famous maracanazo 7-1, 7-0, 5-0 (victories against Brazil, Mexico and the United States, those of Mexico and the United States were from Chile and Argentina) Boca Jrs fans wanted to lynch the Chivas players because in 2004 they scored 4 goals and were eliminated from the Libertadores The hatred that some South Americans have towards Chileans. Some South American regions play in CONCACAF The Copa América is more difficult and with a higher level than the Euro The South American-Europe Intercontinental counts as the Club World Cup The southern qualifiers are the closest and most exciting In South America they usually call fans "hincha" or "torcedor". The South American soccer UA-camr called "Billonario" dedicated a hate video to Mencho and then deleted it, there is no need to ask why he did it
