Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. When I think of the word surrogate, I think of someone selflessly giving of their time, energy, and life itself, in order to bring someone else happiness...and life! And you wouldn't do that for someone if you didn't believe they'd make a good parent to the child. Tony being a surrogate for Hillary means he truly believes in her and trusts her. I respect what he's doing.

Nah being a surrogate means throwing any objectivity out the window and sucking it up hard when it comes to your candidate. Not a negative thing to say? Absolute BS, you're just censoring yourself to make your candidate look better. E.g. even if you really like Clinton, it should be pretty easy to admit that she didn't handle the email scandal well.
And you know, if you really believed in your candidate, you shouldn't deem it necessary it to hide such objective facts...
First of all (addressing Pseodonayme 77), I don't think Tony Goldwyn is so strapped for cash that he would be doing this for the money.
And regarding your comment, Jineapple, Tony is a well-known and admired person. He doesn't need more advertising. Why would he be doing this if didn't believe strongly in her qualifications? And WHO campaigns for any candidate they support, and then speaks about the stuff they don't like?
He supports her, he believes in her, and so he has committed some of his time and energy to convincing others to vote for her. End of story.
Your first question is completely besides the point, As to your second question, somebody who's actually honest.
For example, I like Bernie Sanders. But I'm absolutely ready to admit he has flaws. Sometimes he oversimplifies things. I believe he's too protectionist. And during his campaign I think he downplayed how hard it would be to get some of his changes accomplished even if he was elected.
See? That's not so hard.
If you get asked "What is something negative about your candidate?" and you answer that there's nothing, you're lying and that's all there is to it.
But YOU are not a public speaker for Bernie Sanders. And you would never hear ANY of the people campaigning for him saying any of the things you just said, during a campaign. Maybe during an interview. BUT Tony wasn't even given a minute to talk about her at all, so he's hardly going to make her shortcomings the only thing he says. Stephen basically talked about him in the context of Scandal for 90% of the time, and then at the last second, said, "So, you're a Hillary surrogate, does that mean you're not allowed to say anything bad about her?" And that was it. Stephen should have allowed him more time to speak.
He looks like he has been photoshopped. Respect.

I would have liked to hear him say more postive things about Hillary Clinton. I support her and feel that she is by far the best choice, hands down, of the two candidates running. I am looking forward to seeing the end numbers of at least 80% Hillary to 20% Trump. Many republicans will be voting Democrat just to keep that idiot out of the oval office.
