despite the movie Hardold and Kumar 2 being pretty dumb I liked how they portrayed him in this scene where he show up. He seems like a coolass dude who might not agree with you on everything but man he'd like to party, y'know?
George W. Bush is literally the most Texan old white man and it is so adorable. Didn't like him as a president, policy wise, but he seems like a fun person.

Not a fan of Bush's politics by a mile, but he does seem to have a decent sense of humour about himself, which I respect.
He caved to fear and declared an unilateral war against Iraq. But I also think that he didn't have much of a choice when he was surrounded by lunatics like Tommy Franks, Donald Rumsfeld, and Dick Cheney.
While I disagree with his politics he seems genuine and pretty chill. Thanks Kimmel.
dukhwanee Seriously, Cheney and Rumsfeld pressured him into doing some pretty bad sh*t. While Cheney and Rumsfeld are still crazy, Bush is a normal guy out of office.
Didn't have much of a choice??? He's the commander-in-chief! Of all the 7 billion people around at the time, he was literally the ONLY one who had the choice. What an incredibly shameless thing to say in face of hundreds of thousands dead thanks to his ignorance. Reading these comments I'm starting to understand why the jihadis hate Americans so much.
Don't forget most of the american establishment and populace with 72% supporting the war, especially his own Conservative base.

He is very remorseful about Iraq. He's admitted it was the wrong move and that he regrets it. He spends his days painting soldiers
Check out his book, Decision Points, if you have a few extra bucks or a library card. Seems like a great guy to get a beer with.

I never liked bush while he was in office, but I have to say I like he has a good sense of humour. He's at least a good sport unlike trump
And unlike Trump, Bush didn't whine about losing the popular vote.
Scott Takala absolutely. At least he doesn't throw a hissy fit about an SNL sketch about him.
Lonestarr1337 I reckon so
Yeah Bush had a good sense of humor alright but it still doesn't excuse the fact that he's a war criminal that murdered thousands of innocent people in another country while causing the deaths of thousands of U.S. soldiers in America.
RussX5Z Trudat. I'd like to meet his father though. And I'm just really hoping that Bush Jr repents himself. Maybe then he can be a better person.

why are people suddenly obsessed with the 43rd president, like did everyone forget the war he started?
Cameron Butler The Democrats/Liberals are stupid. I'm done with them
Cameron Butler did Bush fly two full planes into the WTC? Did the Bush administration use the CIA to train Osama Bin Laden? And did the Bush administration appoint Saddam to lead? The answer to all of these is *no* . So don't blame one man for the faults of those before him
He might have been a bad President but he's a decent human being unlike 45.
and yet people blame Trump for literally every single problem in america
Cameron Butler But he paints pictures now! All better!
I'm as patriotic as the next guy, but I still haven't forgiven the Bush or Obama administrations for the seemingly endless wars they've tricked the American public into ignoring exist.
We can't forgive war criminals this easily. He's a nice guy, true, but his lack of leadership at the helm spiraled our country into xenophobia and rampant debt. America needs to stop grading its leaders on a curve, we haven't had a great president in decades.
What wars did Obama get us into?
Anthony Archibald, Obama ordered military "interventions" in at least five countries: Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan. Sold more weapons, specially to the Saudis, than any POTUS in history and holds the distinction of being the only president to be involved in arm conflict during his entired administration.
All while vowing to end our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan and pledging to take the country off what he called a permanent war footing.
Anthony Archibald a war against ourselves.

I always liked George Bush.
He's like a cuddly, comical little kid who just happened to become the US President.
And then happened to sit idly by, as his malicious uncles bombed thousands of Iraqi children into stains of blood in the desert sand - just to gain access Iraqi oil fields. What a whacky little rascal!
hmmm..... You do know America wasn't the only country who invaded Iraq. With or without America the other nations would have "bombed thousands of Iraqi children into stains of blood in the desert sand"
No, they wouldn't have.... If The USA had been against it, it would never have happened!
He's like the lovable shaggy dog that kills and eats the neighbors cats and chases off the mailman so you don't pay your electric bill and the power company shuts off the lights.

Politics aside, Bush seems like a very genuine human being… unlike our current president.
akaElleLatham I'm not dismissing his mistakes as a president whatsoever, because he wasn't a good president. You're right, yes. But you can't deny the fact that he comes off as genuine in a lot of his post-presidency interviews.
Matt N yeah true. hes boring af but whenever he talks is hilarious with his accent
Matt N Trump is a very genuine human being too, dumbass. What, mainstream media tell you he's not?
Matt N im sick of people who whine about the us president a bit like you right now

Straight up, it's easy to see why tens of millions of people voted for this man - twice. I'm completely against 90% of his policy positions/decisions, but he comes off as incredibly genuine and personable.

Am I the only one who doesn't like this "presidents on TV" thing?
There used to be a separation between entertainment and government that is being very quickly eroded. Obama started it, but now it seems like the gates are flung wide open. We have a gameshow host as president. That should be a problem for more people.
JazGalaxy Well politics became public broadcast on radio in WW2 but it was very select and it was only things of importants and it wasn't radical. Vietnam is where televised news I personally believe ruined any sense of media privacy. I feel the president has no business being on twitter.
JazGalaxy why we all human..
This started way before Obama.
JazGalaxy I see what your saying but Obama was really the only one who did it during a presidency. It's because he sucked.

Steve Bridges with him in the Correspondents' Dinner was HILARIOUS.
First to time i was genuinely impressed by him. 'Best humor is when you make fun of yourself'.
As a 17 year old, I wasn't really aware of politics when he was president, but now I understand why he was such a likable person
I'm just going to type "war crimes" as though I have any understanding of what that phrase means, as though I have any knowledge about what laws actually govern international conflicts, as though I have any idea about what particular facts might combine with that law to suggest personal culpability for a president (as opposed to a general, let's say), and as though I have any idea about the legal standards that necessitate findings of guilt in a court system I know virtually nothing about.
But, damn, when I say "war crimes" I sure do feel better about myself because I sound "woke" and because nobody has ever called me a war criminal.
M Ross can I say "Jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams" or is that too faux-woke?
your rhetoric is a little funny, but you attempting to downplay the atrocities approved by this man makes you come off a tad bit remedial.
You talk about war crimes; I have two words for you, Depleted Uranium.
It's not an analogy, mate. It's a sarcastic commentary about people's willingness to reach grandiose conclusions without a shred of requisite knowledge. Citing or proposing categories of knowledge that are requisite to a decent understanding of a subject would, if anything, be creating a distinction from that which I satirize--more of a rebuttal than an analogy, but thanks for playing.
Only you think I'm downplaying anything. I've done nothing of the sort. My comment is epistemological sarcasm--if you will. It's not positioned as a defense of Bush. A remedial course in reading comprehension might have cleared that up for you. (See what I did there?) Rather, it's directed at people who implicitly claim to know so much. When you can tell me precisely how the president of the United States actually interacts with generals commanding armies and approves of military action based on top secret intelligence provided by people thousands of miles way--and then explain to me how Mr. Bush did it during his tenure--then you've earned the right to call me "remedial." Until then you, like me, can ponder how so many people who know so very little about the law can claim to know so much about how all the many cogs of the law and the war machine can make someone a criminal. Calling someone a " war criminal," when that someone has neither been charged nor convicted, requires a level of legal knowledge most legal scholars don't even possess--simply because they don't specialize in international law or the "local" laws of war. Remedial is reaching a factual and legal conclusion without the slightest hint of epistemic humility.
M Ross with all your intelligence and you still can't see the writing on the walls. You must go to some prestigious school because your so good at obeying the status quo and not questioning. Shameful and unfortunate that so many have fallen to indoctrination
Steve Bridges is just Will Farell in George Bush costume

Why is this man suddenly trying to be normalized as a good person?!
Damn he didn't mention him by name but the writer who invented the 'Bushism' word strategery was Jim Downey. You know him as the principal with the famous line in Billy Madison. He's also the only writer funny enough to work alongside Norm Macdonald during his weekend update years at SNL. Bush went on to use the word in meetings and apparently assumed he invented it himself. That's good writing.

Eric Dickson-Peppler ah that's a well put argument, but you fail to realize where it was used. In this place facts don't mean anything, if I say George is a menace to society, then I have already won the argument. sad to believe it, but this is 2017.
laura goetz I'm happy to hear this, the more comments I see like this, the more faith I put back into humanity.
eh hind side is always 20/20 . you cant forget congress and the american people were all in favor of crushing Saddam.
Juckson Wight at least he cared about black people more than Kanye
Except it turned out Saddam DIDNT have any chemical weapons. Iraq fell into ruins and became a terrorism haven.
