It was in 1996, I was 13 years old. I went to a summer camp for 3 weeks in the north of France. A hifi system was siting in the main area with a pile of CDs next to. This system was for "party nights" we had from time to time. Among the CDs, I remember the Police or french songs. But one black and white single-CD got the attention of all kids and especially me. The music was out of this world, like nothing I ever heard. A long intro, weird repetitive sounds, dark and scary atmosphere and a weird voice saying things I don't understand. It was the house of house! Every time we were playing it, we were dancing like crazy. It was the first track of techno I ever heard. I got lucky to have my birthday in the middle of this summer camp and as a gift I ask the manager to offer me that mysterious CD. He refused... It took me 6-7 years, to cross that song again, and all my memories came back. I never left that song since then, still as an MP3 file on my computer. Now I dedicate all my life to electronic music, working in the DJ software industry. All maybe because of that track, or at least it was the beginning of the journey. So thank you so much Yves (and friends) for having made it. The story behind it is beyond fascinating. Thanks to Twan too!
Hab bis 1998 selbst aufgelegt, und der Track zählte damals schon zu meinen Favoriten. Noch heute läuft es in meiner recht großen Playlist, am liebsten richtig laut! Verursacht Gänsehaut...
That's a pure classic, found on many Belgium's disco-anthems ! TOP 10 of the Trance Music... Congratulation to M.I.K.E., Yves Deruyter and all the Belgians anthems for releasing these good masterpieces ! Most of Trance Music are generally cool Tracks to buy and listen. Long life to the Trance and Bonzai's Anthems, I clearly understand why and I'm truly into keeping this style alive.
As a big music lover and being highly passionate about (high-quality) electronic music & heavenly Trance music, all I can say is that these great interviews to these amazing music creators, true electronica living legends, are awesome, absolutely fantastic. I really enjoyed the interview to Franky Jones about his celestial track (together with Axel Stephenson) Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth. And this one to Yves Deruyter is also a great interview, by Muzikxpress. I find it utterly interesting and useful. Well done mate. 👌🏻💫 Yves Deruyter is a true living electronic music legend who has done, and keeps doing, so much for (high-quality) electronic music. I like it how, in the interview, he gives us very interesting anecdotes and details, not only about his amazing megahit 'The House of House' but also in relation to other key aspects about music, electronic music, electronic music production, his own musical creations, his interesting views, the electronic music scene in Belgium back then, the mighty & superb Cherry Moon club in Lokeren, Bonzai Records and much more. I find it so interesting to hear all about it. I think that, despite his huge success, Yves is honestly humble. This is proven, for example, when he says that he doesn't create music (now and back then) just to make big money, or for fame, but rather for pure fun, out of his huge love and passion for music and for (high-quality) electronica and, no less important, in order to make people happy with his musical creations / productions. All this, in my opinion, says a lot about how great he is, as a creator, as an artist and as a human being. I honestly believe that the world needs more people like him and less big ego artists who are only interested in money and fame, undeservedly many times. Having been able to create such a masterpiece like 'The House of House' deserves the huge recognition and praise that it has received throughout time, because it has made (and it will continue to make) many people happy, because of its high-quality and because, thanks to it, many people fell in love with electronic music back then and it will happen too in the future. These amazingly well made electronic music tunes, from that golden era, such as 'The House of House', 'Age of Love - The Age of Love', 'Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth', 'Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance', 'Push - Universal Nation', 'Criss Source - Sunrise', 'B.B.E. - Seven Days and One Week', 'Energy 52 - Café del Mar', 'Three drives on a vinyl - Greece 2000', 'Interfront - Strange' (this one is high-quality electronic music from Spain), and many, many more, all of them superb tunes, and of course the highly talented creators & artists that produced them with huge talent & passion, have done A LOT both for electronic music and for people who love music & (high-quality) electronica. From me, huge and eternal respect and a massive thank you to all of these creators & artists who have managed to produce such fantastic, essential immortal and timeless electronic music gems, for people to enjoy for eternity. The huge happiness that good music and high-quality electronica gives to so many people, all around the world, is priceless, money can't buy that. As for 'The House of House, it is such a musical gem. Always in my top 5 best electronic music tracks ever. It is superb, essential, immortal and timeless. People with good musical taste, who love listening to good music, will also listen to, dance to and love this extraordinary track in the future. Highly talented music producers & DJs from Belgium like Yves Deruyter, Franky Jones, Axel Stephenson, M.I.K.E. Push, etc, have done A LOT for Belgian & European (high-quality) electronic music. Likewise, them and many others from other countries have done SO MUCH for (high-quality) electronic music. Their contribution is huge and invaluable. Moreover, all of them have indeed made many people happy, all over the world, with their music creations and with their music sets. Well done guys. Their legacy will last and their music will keep both making many people happy & having a big relevance and influence. Listen too good music!. And never stop doing it. 🙂🎛🎚🎵🎶🚀🌌
