wow so many I would be lost in life without these interviews!! ha ha I always liked take a free fall but I gather power of American natives will be up there.... I enjoy the whole album moon spirits I have a couple of copies from other countries too due to the different track edits on some releases......
Many to choose from but releasewise my fav probably is Let’s Get Rollin’ as it has my fav D2T track, the ’91 mix of We Came in Peace. Was also my 2nd release from them, bought a few months after I had got the Dance 2 Trance single.
True story...Dag played Club UK in 94 and I just waltz into the booth high as a kite...he was not too pleased when I asked him to play Another Hot Day At The Bay by him...but 3 tracks later he dropped it in the set. I remember he wore i t shirt that said I'm Not A Jukebox in The Trance Europe Express booklet cd. I should have known better but the mdma made me forget. Sundown by The Volunteers is a Eye-Q classic...
I’ve been a fan for over 30 years! One of my favourite projects. I was so fascinated with their music. It seemed to transmit awareness about the environment in their music (tracks such as Remember Exxon Valdez) and native people (Power of American Natives) which was quite unique at that time in the club scene!
I remember when Dj Dag played his own made record: The Volunteers - ' Sundown' in Sep. 1993 at the Warehouse in Cologne. This great moment, while we were listening and dancing to this fantastic trance record, we can't forget. R.i.P. Steffen Britzke Thank you for the nice interview.
Thanks for the interview, think we came in peace was one of my first trance records i ever bought then 3 months later DjDag was playing in my regular club Orbit, Leeds June 1993! 😄🤗
One of my top 100 fav songs! We used to hear it in Los Angeles, downtown around 91-92 afterhours club Flammable Liquids, and also at Earth to Sea, with Dj Doc Martin.
I still don't understand how you have so few subscribers. You have such a large library of historically significant interviews and under 30k subs? Many media empires with multi million dollar budgets can't get the legends you get on your show.
@@awesomeferret yeah unfortunately I don’t have big budgets for promotion etc, slowly growing the channel. Took me 1 year to gain 1000 subscribers. Now it is around 300-350 a month. Hopefully more and more people discover my channel and subscribe 🤞🏻And thanks for the kind words!
We came in peace for all mankind! Such a legendary and beautiful track. I remember talking to Dag back in the day about the Native Americans of America and even going to their reservations. You can find this legendary track featured here for a set i did around the time of an opening for Rolf Ellmer on Report2DanceFloor Radio. Love these guys productions. Well above their time! ua-cam.com/video/BAvJ9ksxVXM/v-deo.html
I think Hanta Yo - The Joker was Dag's first release which I have on CD. Peyote - Alcatraz is another great track. Edit: Comment was before Dag commented on this.
We came in peace came back again in ‘93 because the acid stamp Green Peace was very popular in the clubs. The kids were tripping on it and begging the DJ to drop it lol
I appreciate that! It is a lot of hard work and I'm spending a lot of time / energy / money on these interviews, so I'm always happy to read that people appreciate what I'm doing, thank you for your nice words!!
I got the dance to trance CD from a dollar bin and heard an old indian tell me of his days of rebellion and protest and the AIM movement. It was so full circle
They're on my looooong wish list, but unfortunately they live really far and I have a very tight travel budget. The last donations were used for the interviews with Ingo Kunzi and DJ Dag. Hopefully I'll be able to make another trip to Germany in the future, but right now I simply don't have time and budget for new foreign trips (donations are always welcome, keep in mind Muzikxpress is just a hobby for me and advertising revenue is very minimal unfortunately....)
@@muzikxpress If you ever get a hold of U96 please ask them about the gear. We traced those (cult) Das Boot strings and orch stabs to the famous E-MU Emulator II (as used by Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys et al.), and are curious if they remember what sampler they used.
Hi Twan, any chance of catching up with Ferry Ridderhof and Peter Garnefski of Hocus Pocus to talk about 'Here's Johnny' ? It was number 1 for 4 weeks here in Australia, which I think makes it the only hardcore track to top the charts in our history :)
On my loooooong wish list, but I still have 10 interviews to edit and about 6 or 7 to prepare for the next months, so I don’t reach out to “new” people for now, simply because I don’t have time anytime soon. But, hopefully one day! I also want to ask them about “Doop” 😉
For now I’m not really looking for suggestions, sorry! I have a wish list with more than 100 people, so ideas enough. Time and especially travel budget are my main issues. So I’m pretty picky when it comes to interviews, just being honest! I only was able to make the 2 interviews with DJ Dag and Ingo Kunzi (so more to come soon!) happen thanks to donations from a nice amount of subscribers. For now I don’t have any German trips in the works, hopefully in the future when there’s enough time and budget again. Thanks for your understanding!
Sehr schade , das man NICHT Deutsch redet . Weil es geht ja auch um FRANKFURT! Trotzdem wars sehr schön, ihn gehört und vorallem gesehen zu haben. DANKE vielmals ,Lg

So simple yet so complex...absolutely love the original 1990 version of We Came In Peace...So proud to own it on vinyl!😊
🙏🏻
Simple, not complex.

One of my favourite projects.

Dance 2 Trance - Let's Get Rollin'...such a masterpiece that I play to this day mixed in between some serious Deep House...❤
I remember when Dj Dag played his own made record: The Volunteers - ' Sundown' in Sep. 1993 at the Warehouse in Cologne. This great moment, while we were listening and dancing to this fantastic trance record, we can't forget.

You are taking me back in a magical time capsule Twan. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
wow.....hard choice literally!!!!

So happy to see you on Music Express Dag :)

Nice interview, Twan. Thanks for doing it and sharing with us. Good to know about the background of "We Came In Peace," and DJ Dag, of course.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!

Haha yeah he gives that one a mention in the interview! The Peyote stuff is great too, bit of an underrated project in my opinion.
Proper classic this one! Cheers!
...another great interview, thanks Twan for your time and passion to make it possible again! ✌🏻+ ❤
Thank you so much!
Great track

When will u96 be interviewed. Probably the most significant act of the 90s.

Purple onions explains his love of the 60s.
I really like the desert mix of we came in peace. Shame it was not on a 12 ep
Grad zufällig ins Set gebaut das gute Stück allerdings mit 142+ BPM 😅✌️🙌
Have you made a special about Acperience yet?
Not yet, but hopefully in the future when I have time and budget again to make a trip to Germany (and if they’re up for an interview of course!).
Dj Dag has some very nice poshters….
Blood from a stone, proper tune though!
Another german that would be cool to hear from is Nikolai Kaeßmann. The guy behind the anthem Nikolai - Ready To Flow. That one is thirty years old!

Well, it is very simple…. I don’t speak German, so the only 2 options were: A) an interview in English or B) no interview at all…. 😉
