Thunderous pakhawaj by Pt. Babulal ji n absolutely soul stirring n brilliant vocal by Ustad Fariduddin Dagar Saab and his worthy disciple Pt. Ritwik Sanyal ji.....feel really fortunate to have experienced it
What divine kind of sorcery is this from 7:08 onwards! It feels like slowly drifting billowing fog over a wide calm river. Pure bliss. What level of expertise enables one to glide like those in that level of weightlessness! Sahasra pranaam.
That is the characteristic of the Raaga. As if a person were gliding in the air after backing off a cliff top. That's how I described it around 40 odd years back when I heard it for the first time on the Jasraj 'Three illustrious Brothers' L.P. So it's great hearing of someone else with a similar experience. Just listen to the Pandit Jasraj version done with his two other brothers, Pandit Manilal and Pandit Pratap Narayan. To understand and get the feel of this beautiful raaga. This is the BBC radio recording made around 1982. I had rushed home and got a neighbour to record it for me. Those were the days when Jasraj was into more pure Khyaal than his later Bhajans period.
Thanks so much for an absolute gem!! Beautiful!! Just one insignificant request, please change the spelling of Ustadji's name to Fariduddin. I tried to search for this video and could not find it with the spelling.. Feel like this should reach to absolutely everyone who can appreciate this divine music.. Thanks again!
An outstanding treat for Dhrupad Lovers.

When someone demonstrates skill,

Truly Just Wonderful! . . anyone has any idea which mantra, strotra they recited in the beginning (Ganesh Shri Hanuman . . ) ?
He's not Friduddin but Fariduddin khan Dagar
Rasa Rishi
Is there a Multani recording of them available?
Yes, but only Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar. ua-cam.com/video/MHSyBDfpJLQ/v-deo.html
Wonderful!. Any more information on Pt. Babulal?
Also, please correct the Fariduddin spelling.
the spelling is correct from a Hindi point of view as the 'a' is inherent in the previous consonant (FYI)
