The first dhrupad recordings I had heard were from these two maestros about 15 years ago. They are still my favourites. I doubt there will be any more like them.
Having known personally ustad N Amminuddin Dagar sahib by vertue of being guru to my rev late father Shri A S Singhal IRS ,I can only say Respected Dagar sahib was a great humble human soul and a divine musician I feel very thrilled wen ever I listen his mesmerizing music 🎶 🕉
Mindblowing stuff! I've been practicing Bhimpalasi khyal for a few months. This helps me understand the raag so much more. The first half is mesmerizing and is a great lesson for students.
The headline of this video should also credit Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar, who btw is the guru of Gundecha Brothers, Uday Bhawalkar and veena maestro Bahauddin Dagar.

This is so transcendent! What I love is the confidence of minimalism. Does anyone have the lyrics to the khayal? I don't think I've ever heard it before.
Purple Kohrd The other voice may not be Ustad Moinuddin Dagar's. Ustad Aminuddin never sang so dominantly when singing with his elder brother , preferring to remain in the background. This has been their tradition till Ustad Moinuddin's death in 1966.
@@soumitralahiri967 you are right. NA Dagar saheb in his later style. ZF Dagar saheb is also unmistakable. NA sang very differently with his elder brother and guru.
For future reference, this is Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar and Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar together.
