- A lightshow I programmed using an ETC Ion for a school talent show.

I did something similar except I had 2 VL2500S, 2 Mac 250s, 1 ADJ strobe, a few 2 cell cyc lights, a few source 4s and an element... still made the best of it.

Oooof, doing this on an Ion? How'd you manage that? That's impressive stuff! The only way I could picture it being done is by making all of the chases and assigning them to individual cues and then cuing them yourself, because as far as I'm aware, there is no timecode option on an Ion, apart from Hang/Follow commands. If that's how you did it, then good job, really, really good job. The crowd loved it, you're gonna go far with skills like that!
You can definitely time code on an ion. It can accept midi timecode and smpte. ETC have a video on it, search for 'etc eos show control'
Its also got an internal timecode generator as well
Very complex programming, computer software only. Lots of time needed to do this. Very nice job. Right with the music.

Great set up but, I feel like the movements were a little out of control and didn’t really emulate a lot of energy. Also I feal like those moving heads were underused. But really good still. So much potential on the programming side.
Great lightshow. I probably would have used RH1'S if I could get them as you can layer the prisms on top of each other.

My highschool runs 285 moving led lights. We use Grand MA2. The middle school in my district has 178 movers, and grand ma as well.

From my experience as a lighting programmer at big festivals like cologne electro, can say thar this is bulls***. At cologne electro we used 320 moving lights for an 120 x 20x 80m stage and that was owerpowered. So, tell me what kind of stage and space you have to run such amounts of lights

@@ggk7605 RGB parcans are pretty cheap, when I was at school we had Martin Mac 250 Spot movingheads

@@ggk7605 My school had 4 Mac 250's and 4 iMove 250's, the iMove 250's are a cheaper disco version and far less reliable than the proper Macs.

Maybe a DJ jumping on the podium would have made a difference. Now the music comes from "somewhere" and that feels strange for people.

Cool lights, bad show. I think you were to much concentrated on what your lights could do. The whole show doesn't fit by the music....
I'm pretty sure it is a light demo before the show. There is nobody on stage afterall
