Hats off to Robyn for not only getting through the song, but she did it without a bunch of nervousness in her voice. That's commendable to me!
Great performance. Such a gentle sound… Björk’s hyperballad is so much in one song, it’s so beautiful. Robyn’s cover is like a sweet balm after all the excitement Björk’s hyperballad gets in you… beautiful in their own ways
This is probably one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written; compared to the original, I can see how some people would dislike it, but there's nothing wrong with this version and it's quite nice - it captures some of the 'oomph' and drive of the original certainly, and the string arrangement, though simple, is just as poignant. Yes this is a tribute and not a clone performance. Robin is an artist in her own right and her clear admiration for Björk is a testament to her own artistry and musicianship. Kudos to the orchestra for arranging a symphonic version of this classic techno dance hit.
@@leonardotavares8615 sim!! só pelo fato dela cantar uma música tão difícil ao vivo, e com uma abordagem linda na frente da artista que compôs, isso já torna essa perfomance lendária.
I can't believe I've not heard this version till now. A beautiful but heartbreaking song. The original by Björk and Robyn's version are breathtaking. Simply magical.
My 2 cents: "Ugh, why is a song I made 15 years ago being covered as if it was the best thing I ever made? Haven't you people heard my newer stuff?" Because every musician I know think anything they did 10+ years ago is kinda cringe to go back and listen to.
The original is the best, but this version is so amazing, I love Robyn and Bjork, they both represent what a true female artist is all about, timeless, creative, ahead of their time and comfortable in their own skin in all their weirdness, not worried about looking perfect or having to be sexually objectified to be liked. They focus in music as an art form and not in record sales, they don't care to be mainstream and they don't look at music as a way to show their body parts so men can drool over them and women would want to be like them, they don't have to try hard (like Gaga) to be different and weird, they just dare to be be their true selves.
Robyn absolutely brought the emotional core to this cover and in some measure both honours and transcends the original. What a marriage and the honour in Bjork's face says it all
Say what you want about the cover (IMO Robyn was great) but you can't deny she's got backbone to cover that with Bjork sitting in the front row. Dayum!! I think Bjork looked more nervous than Robyn did, until the beat dropped. Then her eyes stopped darting around as much and she seemed to truly be listening to and absorbing in the performance. Love her so much, an exceptionally talented musician and songwriter. 🤍
The caveat to being a great songwriter who performs their own music is that even the best performances don't tell the whole story. Great interpreters bring out what the writer-performer withheld, omitted, left to the imagination, or didn't even know was there. When a great piece is interpreted by a great artist, we see farther into the author than we did before. Bjork chose her for this song.
That is a very good cover. It seems like everyone on that stage is performing carefully/forcefully on egg shells without breaking them; Robyn's soft voice and the guys on the instruments. Quite amazing. Ed: of course, they all are on egg shells, going through all this before you wake up. The performance matches the imagery painted by those lyrics..
We live on a mountain Right at the top There's a beautiful view From the top of the mountain Every morning I walk towards the edge And throw little things off Like car parts, bottles and cutlery Or whatever I find lying around It's become a habit A way To start the day I go through all this Before you wake up So I can feel happier To be safe up here with you I go through all this Before you wake up So I can feel happier To be safe up here with you It's early morning No-one is awake I'm back at my cliff Still throwing things off I listen to the sounds they make On their way down I follow with my eyes till they crash I imagine what my body would sound like Slamming against those rocks And when it lands Will my eyes Be closed or open? I go through all this Before you wake up So I can feel happier To be safe up here with you I go through all this Before you wake up So I can feel happier To be safe up here with you I go through all this Before you wake up So I can feel happier To be safe up here with you Safe up here with u

aww bjork at the end was so cute, she looked so happy that Robyn did it well. loved it!
It must have been hard to be in the audience with the expectation of being all proper and still at a Polar Music Prize Ceremony. But damn I would have wanted to jump, dance and be totally engulfed in the beautiful music during this performance lol.
LOOOOVE THIS VERSION! The strings, the lyrics, the emotion PERFECTION! Robyn covered this so beautifully
Watching Björk watch Robin perform this is utterly stunning. Such a deep and beautiful song, all heart.
These are the women most needed in this time.
Thank you.
Just stunning 💗
Applause. Magic to see such a magnificent performance by vocalist and muscians. Applause Bjork in tears
So beautiful. Both such emotive artists. You can really feel it
I went to the top of a 32 storey building, like 6 years ago, in London. All i had to do was learn forwards and it was over. I came down because someone would have had to pick up that mess and my family would have been devastated.
I went to a hospital and cried my heart out
I love Bjork, but the original doesnt hit me the same as Robyn's cover. It makes me cry every single time
Who says the original of a song cannot be bettered. Robyn did in my case :)
I just found this and I've loved bjork since sugarcubes and robyn since bodytalk and I seriously can't believe she did this. Damn. I would have never had the guts. I'm having anxiety just watching this.
I’ve enjoyed this video for years and was always irritated by the negative comments. It’s nice to see that overtime people have come to enjoy Robyn’s interpretation of Bjork’s incredible ballad. Yes this is a tribute and not a clone performance. Robin is an artist in her own right and her clear admiration for Björk is a testament to her own artistry and musicianship. Kudos to the orchestra for arranging a symphonic version of this classic techno dance hit.
This is absolutely amazing and I love hearing this cover. I love both artists and Robyn has by far delivered the best Bjork cover I have heard.
This was a fantastic cover
Great cover.
Imagina o nervosismo q ela nao deveria estar
@@leonardotavares8615 sim!! só pelo fato dela cantar uma música tão difícil ao vivo, e com uma abordagem linda na frente da artista que compôs, isso já torna essa perfomance lendária.
I can't believe I've not heard this version till now. A beautiful but heartbreaking song. The original by Björk and Robyn's version are breathtaking. Simply magical.
Beautifully sung Robyn
and beautifully orchestrated xx
“…and when it lands will my eyes be closed or open?…” 🙏🏻💔
Hard to know what Björk is thinking
She had a very strong poker face throughout that performance, except at the end 🤣
She was embarrassed. Did you see how red her cheeks were?
j/k... she seemed very proud and moved.
I see emotion in her face, her eyes were close to tears of excitement
she was probably thiking about a sandwich or something
My 2 cents: "Ugh, why is a song I made 15 years ago being covered as if it was the best thing I ever made? Haven't you people heard my newer stuff?" Because every musician I know think anything they did 10+ years ago is kinda cringe to go back and listen to.
She looks like she's crying/teary eyed the entire time. 💦
👏👏👏👏👍
🙄
Both of them made me cry like kid. Too much beauty in just one place.
Beautiful! I got chills listen to this cover. Robyn's voice is made for emotional ballads.
I loved every moment of this unique tribute ❤
It's so nice to see how the super great artist like Robyn pays tribute to the genius artist like Bjork.
please... all the bjork fans, look for Kali Uchis covering "Venus as a Boy" is a goddamn masterpiece
Masterpiece? More like bad imitation
It was awful. Sorry girl.
It was amazing
Yikes
it wasn't that good. this is coming from a fan of both. this cover is so much better.
Where have this cover been for the last 10 years? It is perfect!
A very reluctant round of applause from the songwriter.
Bjork was so proud for the performance, the look she joined in. And rocking it.
this keeps coming back up on my recommended and i click every single time
bjork didnt move an inch the whole 4 mins sksks but you could tell she liked it
I’m not sure. Tbh
Martin Miller same like....I don’t think she was feeling it too much lol
That's because she's overwhelmed. Her eyes are full of tears.
Nah man. That’s a welcome to Bangkok glare. 😉
Naw Bjork didn't like that Robyn couldn't even get the lyrics to the song right.
This cover is amazing
Robyn, the most underrated female artist on this planet.
That poker face of Bjork. Robyn super great and super brave.
Шикарный кавер. Мурашки по телу и мокрые глаза.
This moves me everyone I listen to it. Robyn has given every part of herself to this cover
What a beautiful performance by everyone involved. Thank you.
Beautifull Singer And cover !!! And behind drum And Base rythms ! 🎉🎉🎉❤
This song is a mix of emotions. Freaking, excitement, emotion all together. And this cover is just amazing! One of my favorites Björk’s songs ❤️
Bjork looks so touched... I just adore her... She is out of this world..
Robyn! Bravo! Its amazing! Not many singers can sing Bjork,...i think is very hard! But you do this!
We live on a mountain
Right at the top
There's a beautiful view
From the top of the mountain
Every morning I walk towards the edge
And throw little things off
Like car parts, bottles and cutlery
Or whatever I find lying around
It's become a habit
A way
To start the day
I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you
I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you
It's early morning
No-one is awake
I'm back at my cliff
Still throwing things off
I listen to the sounds they make
On their way down
I follow with my eyes till they crash
I imagine what my body would sound like
Slamming against those rocks
And when it lands
Will my eyes
Be closed or open?
I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you
I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you
I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you
Safe up here with u
bjork was not disappointed. if anyone can pull this off robyn can. she is that GODDESS
brilliant comment well put can you imagine that lady ga- ga or beyonce carry this off the way robyn did dont get me wrong find singers but robyn can feel a song she puts totally every thing into it
Sunday treat.
Fantastic!!!!
Polar Music Prize can you please put this on Spotify?
if you dont love both robyn and bjork your gay card is revoked
I am gay, I live in Sweden and I deeply dislike Robyn.
So then I must be gay 😂😂😂
well..just your human being card :)
Never heard of Robyn before this video, but came here because I love Bjork. But since I'm straight, can I still be a fan?
there's cards for that shit?
i can't even get a green one.
it made every hair on my body stand up, and it brought tears to my eyes, just like Björk's version.. that little smile from Björk at the end says it all.. she enjoyed it just as well...
Brought me to tears.
