First Formula 1 race was in 1947. F1 World Championship started in 1950. First F1 car with wings: 1968 First Grand Prix in 1906. First Motor race: Paris-Rouen 1894 First motor car: Benz Patent Motor Car 1886
4:04 Believe it or not, that actually happened on the last lap of the race. The driver, Kimi Räikkönen, was leading the race, but had to manage big vibrations on his tyres, which, in the end, caused his front suspension to fail. 5:49 No, this is in no way allowed. The drivers get fined for this. 6:25 Michael Scumacher claimed the 2000 world championship title by winning the Japanese Grand Prix. It was his 3rd, his first with Ferrari and Ferrari's first drivers title after 21 years. 8:45 2007 world champion Kimi Räikkönen was already 17 points behind with two races to go (back then you got 10 points for a race win) and still managed to clinch the world title, which is also the latest driver's title for Ferrari. 9:20 This was the first and only time Jenson Button won the F1 world championship and also the only one for Brawn GP, a team that will forever hold the record of winning both the driver's and constructor's title in every season they competed in, as they only competed in the 2009 season. 9:37 A lovely tribute from Sebastian Vettel to Ferrari junior driver Jules Bianchi after winning the 2015 Hungarian Grand Prix. Jules Bianchi received fatal injuries after a crash at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix, which put him in a coma, after he lost control of his car in wet conditions and hit a crane that was lifting a retired car. The week before the Hungarian Grand Prix Jules Bianchi passed away.
You had questions about the safety car and u were wondering why the drivers don't just stop the car. Wel actually sometimes they do stop. But why they prefer to keep on driving is...that they are able to keep focused and also for example that the tires keep the right temperature.. there are 3 safety situations. ----virtual safety car: all drivers have to limit their speeds and aren't allowed to race. This is used when the incident is minor without much danger and which is quick to resolve. ( sometimes also just a virtual safety car in one part of the racetrack) ----safety car: a car drives in front of them to slow them down. most of the time this is used when a car has stopped or crashed. ----red flag: the race is on pause, the drivers park their cars. Used when the risk of serious accidents is too great. For example when a car has crashed at the middle of the track. or when the rain can cause other drivers to crash into the crashed car.
"The entire history of formula 1" is a must watch video as a start. And i also suggest "Formula 1 explained for rookies" by Cleo Abram and she also has a more in depth video on the engineering part called "Formula 1 cars explained for rookies". ;]
Wow... What great moments are in that video, seeing great drivers in history like Michael Schumacher, Airton Senna, Alain Prots, Mikka Hakkinen, Rubens Barrichello, Nigel Mansell, And more current to Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton And much more is incredible... Formula 1 is definitely the queen of motor sports competitions.
at 2:50 that was Nigel Mansell in Dallas in 1984, he pushed the car across the finish line from several hundred metres, he was so tired he collapsed...

A thing that gets me is how people: 1. Don't comprehend how fast of a motorsport F1 is. By the time the last car on the grid is passing the starting line It's already going faster than you'll ever will. And that's just the launch. 2. How demanding racing, and specifically how much F1 is. Racing is not driving, you are a literal ragdoll being pulled and thrown by up to 6 times your body weight in G-forces in F1; over, and over, and over; lap after lap, until the checkered flag. And there's no coasting or relaxing in that time, because there's 19 other maniacs that will do anything to finnish just 1 place above you. It drains every ounce of you, some F1 drivers lose up to 3 or 5 kg in water weight through a race (that lasts just 1 hour 30 minutes on average) Unrelated to this, but the scenes of a driver being carried on top of other Formula are post-race moments; with the race just finnished, sometimes last lap crashes or breakdowns happen. In those cases some drivers "hitch a ride" if they catch someone else by; after all, racing is over and many are friends off the grid.
Stopping the race also means starting that race. It takes a lot of time to organize all of that. So when they follow Safety Car for 4 laps and the wreckage is removed it is MUCH less time lost. Standing starts are also the most risky moments so a chance for another collision and another stoppage is too great. it is like 5 minutes vs 15 minutes. They do stop that race if the track is damaged, the safety is #1 so if any safety devices are damaged on the track, like the big cushions or the guard rails they have to red flag the race.
There is just one issue in my opinion with the actual video. The clip selection is great but all the clips are of very short duration to give that thrill to new viewers. I can imagine that they wanted to include everyone but if the clips would be just 1-2 seconds longer we would be getting much better experience.
I'm so glad you decided to react to F1 videos, I'm a huge F1 fan, I've been watching it my whole life 🤗 Maybe I can suggest you few videos you can react to 🤭

There has to be a nice short video like this for le mans / endurance racing out there. Ive watched motorsport my whole life but never paid attention to le mans until this year. Ive never seen so much emotion after a race. Mechanics on the ground literally weeping after a win. It got me hooked and WEC is now my favorite series!
