The Genius. As good as it gets, period. Ahead of his time, copied today. Great General Manager, Great Coach, Great Teacher, Great Man. Loved Boxing. Preached beat your opponent to the punch. Showed his team Hagler vs Hearns long before Belichick who also did, was even a head coach. Oddly enough the team the gave the Niners the most trouble in the 80’ was the NY Giants, and Belichick who was their defensive coordinator. The two best coaches ever in my mind, along with Lombardi. Camelot! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Go Niners!
I love Walsh...though that shot at Buddy Ryan was a bit of a low blow. He won two Super Bowls as an assistant coach (two legendary teams, the 1968 Jets and he built that 1985 Bears defense) and he was about .500 as a head coach (above .500 with Philly) he wasn't an all time great but definitely not someone just bs'ing his way through
Reading Coach Walsh’s book finding the winning edge at the moment. We are witnessing a genius at work here. God speed.
Another gift from Bill Walsh ! Thank you for everything you did for us Niner Fan's and really the NFL
I was never 49er fan growing up. But I cannot help but admire this man. So inspirational! RIP.

Same here. I am a lifelong Cowboys fan, lol. I love listening to him break down plays and offensive football.
"I've come to the conclusion it's not so much the plays themself, it's how you practice them." ~Bill Walsh
…and thus was born the Air Raid.
One of the greatest coach in all time. If he coached longer Walsh and Montana would have beaten all the records.
The greatest coach of all time
Thank you for sharing!
Thank You Coach! I purchased your book "Finding the Winning Edge" on Ebay it's a lot to take in but I look forward to the journey.
Can't thank you enough for this!!

This is gold
Can't believe he is gone.
This is fantastic!
This is why they called Bill a Genius. Contingency Plans then Practice Practice Practice for different situations.
The “Buddy Ryan Method” thing is one of the funnier things Walsh ever said.
thank you, the other version of this is hard to watch,..

20:21 Wow!
Being prepared, having a plan.
That’s John Ralston introducing Bill Walsh!!
16:00, you're welcome
ty ... very nice. ☺
It’s John Ralston!!
Walsh was like "plan the first 10-20 plays" and let them figure it out.

Do you have part 2 posted anywhere
Genius, what a play. Only thing is Rathman and Craig were flipped on the play. Think Bill just forgot.

when was this?
My guess would be 1995 or some time right after he went back to Stanford for a couple of years.
I would say 1994. He says two years ago from the Penn State Bowl Game which was 1992.
I was actually more impressed with his defensive teams.
Find that winning edge
