Saban is the absolute goat. So many people that you don't have to be smart to play or coach football. That couldn't be more incorrect. Saban is a professor of football. You can have the best athletes in the world on your team, but if you can't teach them what to do, you will not win games.

A few years later in 2001, Hatin Ass Spurrier made him go back to the drawing board and now I'm sad.

All of that is great if you are facing a traditional I-formation or Pro-style offense, which back then until the last 15 yrs was CFB, NFL!!
Then the RPO offense which centers around a dual threat QB that u have to compensate for became his Achilles heel. Because he is such a perfectionist!! He wants to control everything on field instead of gambling at times. My response to a dual threat is same as Pro-style…..Hit him ….Get to him but at least contain him & let him know u are there. Saban’s philosophy is pressure QB not sack QB & it has got him burned in some games.
And for those of us that use to be 17-20 yrs old, many of whom were up half the night, hungover, ADD….Can u imagine sitting at that age to this for 2hrs? Even now I hate classes Safety meetings in my late 40’s. And then trying to process all that information at that age…..
