When I make my cornbread I add 1/2 stick of butter in my cast iron pan and in the oven before I add the batter. I love corn bread and sweet milk for dinner. Love you brother have a fantastic New Years.💖✌👍🍾🥂

My southern mom would make skillet cornbread like this and eat it crumbled in buttermilk. I have her cast iron cornbread skillet and her cast iron corn-shaped breadstick pans. The corn bread sticks were drier but we're great crumbled over a pot of chili beans. Your wide-eyed expression at the table was priceless! Thanks for the recipe Charlie! 😂

Sir, I've gone through at least 20 recipes for southern cornbread. Watching yours did it for me. I like densely made cornbread that I will try my hand at cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving. You are FLAME !

LOVE the recipe, made your CB Many times. I take out the sugar and use 1@3/3 cups buttermilk as I am high and dry in the basin and range. Man O mantis, this is the real deal!!! Thank You Charlie!!

Looks good😋 The skillet is the truth. That's what I cook my cornbread in. I'm from the South and grew up on Jiffy, because that's what my mom made. Now I live up north in Va, and I make my own cornbread from scratch. My family likes it sweet, but I can eat it with or without sugar. Keep the recipes coming. Love your channel.
