Quarterone sounds amazing. My favorite of all of these. I’ll have to pick it up at some point. I’m not strictly writing production music. But I’m taking inspiration from it. I’m a commercial editor who uses production music all the time. We produce short documentaries for medical schools about intense trauma cases, and I’m trying to set aside the time to compose the music for those stories. It’s a nice way to channel creativity while producing stories about events that are pretty horrific. Anyway, thanks for sharing about these libraries.
Great video, Steve! I have one of the 8Dio Emotional Guitars libraries, but not sure which without checking. I should get hold of this Soundpaint one, as I’m sure I have a crossgrade price! You could look at Sonora Cinematica’s Panorama Guitars, which I’ve just acquired. 👏
What most guitar libraries are still missing is some decent guitar feedback sounds, like different (amp feedback) swells that you can blend in with rock tracks or use as a cinematic pad. I'm surprised that these kinds of sounds are often not included, while they are so essential for (rock) guitars. (I'm still hoping Native Instruments with do a guitar version of Piano Colors and add some feedback options.)
These are some very cool instruments! I used to use Shreddage a lot, but those are realistic tones. Same as Same goes for Sunbird or Telematic by Acoustic Samples. Great realistic guitars. For bass I love Toontracks EZBass and all the packs you can get for it. I always wanted to buy Sample Logic's Cinematic Guitars, but never got around to it. Too expansive for a hobby!

Spitfire "Afterglow" is also nice...also the guitars in Omnisphere.
Emotional Guitar....bought! Beautiful 🧡
Desolate Guitars by e-instruments is a cool one! Has more of a Western Rock type of tone.
