4:28 - Pete is such a good salesman. He just says what you want to hear in guitarist-words and makes a sale. - I'm not even joking: About one guitar he said "It's so singy!", which was in some video not even about that guitar, and it was exactly the words I needed to hear for a guitar I was looking for, and I purchased it. - Of course, I listened to it as well, he was simply accurate about what it sounded like. But those few seconds really drew my attention cause, again, I was looking for that and indeed the guitar I got is like that. It's very resonant and "sings" notes, so it was one of those incidental meant-to-be series of events that happen in life. - It ended up being one of my favorite guitars as well, as it still feels as good if not better 5 years on. And to think the guitar was based on an already-customized guitar that Lee had frankensteined together. You can guess which one...

Those Bugera's are a very nice amp for the money. And they're easily upgradable. I have the V22 Infinium and it's all I need for a small venue and band practice. I even record with it. I dropped in a Celestion 12 inch speaker, put in premium tubes and replaced several of the pots and jacks with Switchcraft and CTS brand name parts. The ones that come with it are functional but very low end. That's how they're able to sell them so cheap. There's also some mods that are going around for the tone controls. Replacing certain capacitors and resistors with different values. I don't think I will go that far, I am happy with what I have done to it already.

I like the Chappers setup. The first guitar I bought was a Gretsch Streamliner after seeing him play Metallica on it. My first tube amp is the Bugera V5 Infinium. And I love expensive pedals-toys.

Bugera v5 was my amp of choice for the last 10 years.
In a meantime, I bought and sold Laney Cub 12 and Egnater Tweaker 112.
Honestly, I don't need anything else for my room, studio or gigs. It sounds just fine in recording mix and it also goes on par with my drummer when cranked up. I never go above Gain 4 and Volume at 2 at home with Boss ME-70. I did changed a tube to JJ Electronic at some point

It would be even more fun in you could work in a Blind Test at the end so we could share which rig we thought sounded better.

At the end of the video, you guys should choose your very best setup and settings for your rig, then switch rigs completely and see who can make it sound the best. It would be fun to see you guys playing the entire rig that the other guy chose.

The BBE Sonic Maximizer and the Unna pedal do make things sound better - but soon better just becomes normal because you never want to turn it off.
I describe the BBE as being like a very thin bedsheet was draped over your cabinet and the BBE takes it away. Adds just a little bit of thickness and a nice polish on the very high end.

I feel like Pete knows what he’s talking about, if he gave me a recommendation I’d take it in an instant

I bought my USA Fender Stratocaster plus new in 1994, and it's the same 3 tone sunburst as yours. I've had a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates fitted in the bridge, an SSL3 in the middle, and a little 59 in the neck. I've had the trem blocked, and it sings, it's a much better guitar than it ever was. I've also had a gold scratch plate fitted, so it looks a lot like yours.

I don’t know, man. If I need one do-it-all guitar for 500£ max, then I’d be looking pretty hard at Yamaha.

Literally….the best job in the world!! Picking tone and guitars for a video, then going to enjoy your selection, and getting paid for it. Totally my cup of tea 🍵. Definitely an IPA afterwards lol

I don't know how you guys can talk about the law of diminishing returns without the wisdom of the professor. 😂
