Even the Dunkirk annoyed me bc they never even put lead on the target for aerial gunnery and that really annoyed me. Bullets aren't lasers, they have trajectory
If Michael bay wanted to he could make a hell of war movie as long he keeps it mostly historically accurate so the history buffs would shut the hell up about it. Also to the dimbulbs in the comment section, this scene was a part of the movie Pearl Harbor, during the first act the main character (Affleck) Transferred to a British squadron to help the Brits fight the Germans. This scene was the part where he was shot down, he turns up later and takes part in the defense of Pearl Harbor.
4 bladed prop spits ? Not accurate. Most Spitfires in the Battle of Britain if not all of them were mk1a's with 2 bladed props and early versions of the merlin engine. These are mk2bs as they have the 2 20mm cannons....
Zero 雪 That's true but those are real surviving Spitfires that are 60 yrs old. Some of the scenes are real aircraft, not the computer crap that they make today.
Not many genuine early types of the Spitfire around. Film companies have to make do with what they have, and simulate, so to speak. The same happened with the original BoB film and the old ITV series, A Piece of Cake
CheckAlakaDingDong Actually, that isn't completely true. Uboats were sent into the Pacific to rendezvous with the Japanese. Also a few Uboats were sent to the Caribbean as scouts on a mission to destroy supply lines.
These dogfight scenes were from Pearl Harbor film. The protagonist enrolls in an Eagle squad and fights in the skies of England against the Luftwaffe until he is shot down. Greetings.
and there is no suppresive fire from bombers gunners, only american pilots(they're using british planes however) shotin down germans(i learnt it now germans bombed the pearl harbor)? dude germans had the air superiority with those messerchmit and bf109's this movie is a piece of crap. when bombers gunners start to fire whole place going like a hell.
Problem #1: Spitfires and Hurricanes lined up among each other in no particular order or organization. They fulfill totally different roles. It's like mixing P-51s in with P-47s. Problem #2: These look like Spitfire Mk IIs, which are way, way more maneuverable than Bf-109s. As close as that last 109 got, a tight barrel roll would've made him overshoot, and any pilot would've immediately done that (or at least kicked the rudder and done a snap roll or something). Problem #3: Is "hammer down" an actual term? Who says that? I've never heard it in my life and it sounds dumb as hell, but I might be wrong. Furthermore, when he says it, he's already been firing his machine guns - he's just using both machine guns and cannons now. Who on the radio needs to know that? Everyone's firing constantly! Problem #4: Ben Affleck subjects his fellow pilots to a blow-by-blow commentary of every mundane thing he does, while all the other pilots can rarely be heard on the radio, and even then only when it applies to what Ben Affleck is doing. Is this mission all about getting him to shoot down some bombers or what? Problem #5: What's his wingman doing while he's getting butt-raped by a German fighter? Problem #6: Calling Bf-109s "MEs". I get that some people incorrectly called them that back then, but yikes it's annoying. It'd be like calling a Spitfire a "Supermarine" just because they manufactured it. Problem #7: Were American pilots even allowed to join the RAF to fight in WW2 back then? I could've sworn they weren't.
@edf203 Yes, American volunteers participated in the Battle of Britain. Britain asked for help from all over their empire and free world since they were critically short on pilots. I reference the closing credits of the movie "The Battle of Britain" where they acknowledge the volunteers and country. There were a couple of Yanks there - can't remember how many for sure. Happy New Year.
George Shirtcliffe those are not MkIX's look at the air intake on the bottom of the wing there's only one after the IIb spits were made with two, it's a IIb in the movie
edf203 im sorry to upset you but the term “ME 109” and “BF 109” are technically both are correct because both were used in German documents and both were used on the same pages the term “BF 109” just looks better and only slightly more correct but both terms were used interchangeably by allies and axis. Either you have the massive urge to want to make people feel stupid and bad about theirselves and pumping your brains up and out, or you are just misinformed and have good intentions and are for correcting people not trying to tear them down. I’ll just give you the benifit of the doubt 🤗have a wonderful day!
After watching how a real dogfight goes in the movie Dunkirk, when watching this I thought I was watching an episode of SpongeBob Squarepants

You better hope Michael Bay doesn’t touch on Dunkirk or D-Day.
1:35
I heard that sound effect from Star Wars the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
Spitfire pilot distracted while covered in burning oil trying to open canopy with a revolver *German still misses*
this is from the film pearl harbor, when one of the american pilots volunteered for training in the raf

The Spitfire was a very agile Dog-fighter while the Hawker Hurricane a Feared Ground attack Plane.
What means Hammer down ? Locked or full power ? can someone tell me please.
Hammer Down is another term of "Engaging Target"
@@vxrgo2680 Thank you !
Esos 109 son otros aviones pintados como verdaderos 109 en esta aprte del film no?
Was it so hard to get up a bit, slow down and get behind the 109?
the 109 was a better plane at low altitudes than the spitfire the only thing he could do is climb to where the spitfire is better
To be fair, Lan did warn him about the oil hose.
Dunkerke is a film
What can go wrong if Micheal Bay directed “Battle Of Britain”? Short answer: everything.
Spitfire Mk IXs in Battle of Britain?????
25 Mk.IIb were used in the Battle of Britain, they had the same wing type with 6x 7.70mm and 2x20mm
