I know that pve probably would get boring, but i loved frontier defense from titanfall so I hope one day there's an ltm or something that is a more fleshed out experience than something like hunt.
I always thought with how the legends play on abandoned military bases cities and settlements, duardo would have the legends pay increased if they helped deal with pirate and raiders who raid certain poi’s and we have to defend them. Almost like a frontier defense/ horde mode. Would have been really cool. Especially since overwatch partially committed on a PVE mode.
I don't think the original devs who made frontier defense even work at respawn anymore
Maybe some people working there have worked on PVE type games but I really don't trust respawn to put their heads together to give us a proper PVE mode that works well
Especially when they're primary focus is spent pleasing EA with $20 skins and lackluster BP for us players
The reason 90% of their development effort in the game sucks ass is cause they spend all their time making new weapon skins, character skins, weapon charms, stickers, loading screens, music packs, dive trails, banner frames, banner poses, tackers, emblems, emotes, holo-sprays, quips, and heirlooms all while trying to come up with a new legend each season which makes them have to repeat the majority of the process again and again
The only time they take a minute off the "development process" is when theres a game breaking bug that's ruining the season and depending on how bad it is its either patched in a week or patched in the next season
So on the off time they are actually developing the game further they test new weapons and items to add to the loot pool that we don't see until 3 seasons later like the nemesis or the rampage if we even do see them at all

Slamfire Bolt was probably a shotgun hop-up, given that slamfire is a thing you can do with some shotguns where you hold down the trigger and pump the gun to cycle new rounds.

The name of the slamfire bolt says its most likely for the peacekeeper or the 30-30, seeing as slamfire is a term for holding down the trigger on a pump action/lever action gun that doesn't have a trigger disconnect and continuously racking the bolt to fire
Respawn needs to experiment with some of their unused ideas, and make silly and wacky LTMS with them, they's be able to see if the community likes them, and keep the game fresh. Like maybe a gamemode for the explosive ammo, where every gun explodes or something
Have you heard of inferno plus and his mod for halo? Id check it out if were you, it has a lot of what you're describing there
TBH if there was PvE mode I would have like it to be more like frontier defense in TF2, not necessarily a defense, but with extra perks, upgrades, new enemies, co-op, and maybe mode exclusive guns
Fun fact: I was the one who started the forum post on the ea forums when the issue of losing twitch drops including mirages started happening en masse 2:02. its sad how it wasn't taken seriously and took an entire year to fully get fixed.
"slamfire" is usually reserved for shotguns (pump action ones) so maybe it was for one of em? A full auto boomstick would've been fun imo
The kill boost would make sense. But I'd make it a "wipe boost" like, if you wipe a squad after using your ult, you get a significant ult charge that could help with defending against 3rd parties.
For the slamfire bolt hop-up, I don't think it would have gone on the P-2020 due to how it's worded. Slamfire is when you have a pump action gun and hold down the trigger, racking it over and over, and it fires a lot quicker. I think it would have gone on the Peacekeeper or Mastiff, but honestly either of those being fully auto, even with ridiculous recoil, is wayyy overpowered.
I think the Deathbox insight could go to Skirmishers or Recon, meanwhile something like the Syphon on kill or the reduced ultimate cool-down on kill should definitely go to Control Legends as they definitely need a second passive the most. It’d make it fairer for said classes to compete against Assault and Supports who have 2 passives.
Siphon for Wattson sounds OP as heck
As a rampart main and fortnite player, I would love siphon on control legends.

I feel like they could have added the goleith if they made it like the trials on worlds edge. Put it on the edge of the make far away from any common end zones or popular poi's, make it so you have to summon it by choice and only then will it appear, and give good loot to whoever kills it. I don't see any problem with that tbh.
also btw pilot helmets made it into the game still but as the heirloom legend skins, they all have pilot helmets

Apex had mirage leaked to be Yoru from Valorant before he was thought about. It would have been cool to have a yoru flash if decoys are shot still a good buff idea IMO just needs to be balanced well
Edit- mirage also has a leaked heirloom item similar to Wattson, it was a photo

(Maybe Val took Inspiration from the mirage leak that didn’t come out) And I was referring to the picture in mirages heirloom as similar to the Wattson heirloom animation he showed in the video so you just proved my point…

The biggest argument I have for explosive ammo would be the fact that there's many movement abilities in Apex and even a legend without any would still be fast enough to efficiently avoid rockets and grenades, the only worry would be how they work in-doors, but there's already legends who have tools to prevent base grenade spam, and I feel like explosive ammo would make those legends even more useful.
the one that recharges the EVO after every kill... isn't that the rev ultimate? u get +75 and every knock recharges it so...
No because that recharges his Shadow Sheild, not his EVO Shield.

It was originally a mobile perk for Octane if I remember, but different. Every finisher granted him 100 points to his next EVO.
Plus finishers on console/PC already charge your shields.

I’d enjoy a weapon that has a laser like vantage ult but doesn’t explode unless it hits a door or a player so it only explodes doors or players on direct contact and has a slow fire rate or make faster shooting weapons take more shots to break the door
The cryo- grenade was going to make an ice wall, which is basically what catalysts ultimate does so I believe it was an early version of catalyst alt

They could have placed the Goliath in a cave that can be opened with a grenade. But I feel like the cryo grenade will be another character's ability or just another grenade

i wouldn't give my hopes up on the Explosive Ammo part being fully scrapped. With the Charge Rifle being a Railgun now, i don't think the idea of adding explosive guns like Rocket/Grenade Launchers or Laser Cannons is out of the woods yet.
Slam firing is a shotgun mechanism. In world War 1 or 2, they would shoot by pumping. Not pump THAN shoot. ( Faster firing) 😊

Slam fire is a reference to ww2 shotgun use, where instead of pumping the shotgun and pulling the trigger you would hold the trigger down and pump it fast to fire quicker. I think it would have gone on the mastiff and the ok and made them full auto. Would love to see it!

Hey Grrt, i have a random theory about the pilot entry on this list, you were talking about how it would be cool to see the legends as pilots but wouldnt be worth trading away their unique personalities for it, and the reason i wanted to ask you something is,
I consider prestige skins to be pilot uniforms, i mean theyre all fully armoured versions of the legends all with their unique finishing which see them utilising their abilities in some way,
Wraith uses void powered whips, Caustic uses a venomous gas spray and valk throws projectiles from her wings,
Im suprised not many people have made the connection since Respawn always puts Pilots at the top of their power scaling whenever they rate how powerful a solider is
I had stopped playing apex sometime last year and when I came back this year arenas was gone to my dismay, I enjoyed it a lot more than actual apex due to everyone having the same gear available to them and no third party teams to ruin a good fight

I mean the pilot designs are used on the legends, that's what the prestige skins are based on. They're supposed to replicate a pilot from Titanfall 1 and 2 but in their own design hence why they all have helmets and Titanfall like names.

I’d assume slam fire would be PK or mastiff referencing the WW1 shotgun the Winchester 1897 which had a slam fire feature where if you held the trigger down and slammed the slide forward it would automatically fire the round and Germany tried to ban it for being “too cruel”
The slamfire bolt was most likely a peacekeeper or mastiff abilty for two reasons
1: slam fire was a thing that old shotguns (ww1 -ww2 era) could do that shoots REAAAALY FAST
2 : slamfire BOLT shot gun BOLT

I think explosive ammo makes the most sense on the Bocek would make sense if it used more arrows per shot but also I would never wanna go up against it 😂

bro some of this stuff would have been amazing to have like the brutal finishers would be amazing along with the custom skins for the guns or take some of the old concepts and put it in the game some how.
As a titanfall player, I have no idea why they're didn't added a pve gamemode cuz they absolutely COOKED, when making frontier defence.
That Gibraltar's pilot helmet reminds me that I want a beetle armor skin and a better looking insect themed skins. Something like Kamen Rider/Masked Rider skins. Antennae, Buggy eyes and Cool looking shells/armor. Denizen of the Deep/Crab skin for Ash is a good example.
They technically did release that flatline reactive but it was a recolor in the season 4 bp
It seems like you were thinking explosive ammo was supposed to be a hopup or alternate ammo type or something. I'm confident that that was meant to go with explosive weapons like grenade launchers or rocket launchers and would be a new weapon type.

Imagine if apex had an rpg mechanic , like many enemy types on the map and every kill makes your armour stronger and every player kill upgrades your health or damage , this would break the game and make it unpredictable but kind of a fun idea huh?

Explosive Ammo was datamined a while ago, along with RPGs like the EPG, the Softball TF2 gun and the Antitank RPG from TF2, those weapons probably would have used explosive ammo. I think there were ping lines for it too if I recall correctly

I wish all the legends had Titanfall-style pilot outfits. The prestige skins fail at making them feel pilot-like. Bangalore is the closest but still lacks detail.
Mirage's flash abilty would honestly be good instead of the scan thing we have now.
It would've made shooting the decoys a risk. But i do get why flashes would be bad for the game

Honestly a great way to balance explosive weapons is to make sure they ONLY do shield damage.

The slamfire hop up would have most likely been on a shotgun because slamfire shoguns are a real thing you basically hold down the trigger and work the pump to use the slamfire feature.

From what I saw about the Apex skins that were originally supposed to have helmets, they would probably be seen in store events only, and they would be the kind of skins that have unique select animations. Wraith already has one, but a few already exists for Wraith. There needs to be some like that for Gibraltar, Lifeline, Wattson, Octane, Caustic, Mirage, etc.
Lifeline, Ash and Bang already have skins with unique animations.

Theu should add explosive burning the care package and make it have one bullet a shot and a long time to reload and has 5 bullets in total and it basically does frag damage

On the ammo box one, that’s bullshit- Respawn has Valkyrie and the Evac Tower. Ballistics ult is just 30 seconds of unlimited ammo and faster reloads, but an ammo box in the survival slot would be nice if you didn’t have a Ballistic on the team, just like a team that has Evac towers and not a Valk.
Explosive ammo would had probably been for (the) rocket launcher or was it a grenade launcher. I've heard of it once. it was planned like before launch or something.

i think explosive ammo wouldnt be to hard to ballance direct hits deal increased damage to body armor have the splash damage deal some damage but not enough to be a threat but still be enough of a threat to some what force you to move further away so you arent taking the damage the splash damage dealing like 5-10 damage or something around that and direct damage somewhere between 25-30 damage to body armore and something like 15-20 to fleck ovbiously this would also depend on the weapons its able to be used on most likely slower fire rate weapons only and have there be no headshot damage bonus
i say the slam fire would go on the 30-30 or pk. as you can slam fire some lever actions.
